FYI folks. Tomorrow is Talk Like A Pirate Day. Anyone who goes to your nearest participating Krispy Kreme and talks like a Pirate, gets a free glazed doughnut. To anyone that dares to go extreme and dress like a pirate, they will give a whole dozen for free!
Edit: Off-topic: I just got an e-mail from the user who identified a bug in my app saying my latest update had fixed it. She went to the Play Store and gave the app 5-stars and left a positive comment about the app and my willingness to work with her to resolve the bug. Things like that absolutely make my day

Yeah I can't believe its 4PM already.
I'm not sure if I ever posted this, but just wanted to show you something cool the lady and I made over the weekend. Basically she was tracking the DIY tag on tumblr and came across this DIY dry-erase calendar. I'll link below, but the concept is that you take a poster frame and take it apart and on the cardboard insert inside you glue fabric of your choice. Then you take paint samples from Walmart / Home Depot / etc (we took 49 - 7 of each color). Then you glue these onto the fabric into a calendar type arrangement and then one extra for day of the week, which you write on the paint sample. Then you assemble the frame again and because the front of the frame is plastic you can write on it and it will act like a dry-erase board and you have a calendar for all months!
I may get this one. Have to check them out when I am on a PC. Its interesting the breakdown by user OS
Windows $4.94
Mac $6.66
Linux $9.10
At least at the time of posting.
As if we needed any more proof that science and space are totally awesome, the Dark Energy Camera (DECam) that has taken up residence in the Chilean Andes has delivered its first images. What you’re seeing below is a collection of zoomed-in images taken by the DECam of the globular star cluster 47 Tucanae. 47 Tucanae lies about 17,000 light years away from Earth, and the shots of it can only be described as breathtaking.
Anyone else notice the stories of NASA starting work on a WARP DRIVE?

Last year we almost had a phone called the "Nexus Prime," this year we almost had a phone called the "Optimus Nexus." I think it's safe to guess that the people involved with making these devices are Transformers fans.

Well it's that time of the year again, just got my flu shot. It's always nice when you get someone who knows just to jam it in there. Didn't even feel it.
Of course a couple years ago I had a syringe malfunction, when the nurse pushed the plunger down, the Vaccine sprayed out the sides. Had to get a second one in my other arm. Fun.
Was upgrading from AOKP 37 to jelly bean build 2, and right at the end it flashed you do not have "superuser" status, then rolled over and kicked twice.
I've tried recovery, rebooting a few dozen. Now I'm stuck in boot loop with AOKP animation that won't go away.
Anyone point me to a good guide on how to unbrick?

Good morning everyone - happy Wednesday.
iPhone 5 reviews are coming in and they are looking pretty good - I hope that Google figures out this battery life thing because with LTE on that is insane. iPhone 5 review -- Engadget
Stig, I love seeing your pictures of the Manhattan skyline. The new Trade Center tower is progressing along nicely. Hope I can talk the wife into coming back when it is complete. We were there just a couple of months before the memorial opened so I want to see it as well.

Have you used the galaxy nexus toolkit over at XDA? It's an aio program, it should get you started back on the right track.

Have you tried "adb reboot bootloader" or "adb reboot recovery" to get into bootloader or recovery? If so what happens there?
Let us know.

Another thought on the Optimus G. According the AnandTech hands-on: "The phone feels great in the hand, although it is a bit of a fingerprint magnet. In addition there are real capacitive buttons for back, home, and menu (not task switcher) at the very bottom. The backside is a slick unbroken surface but has a textured appearance below a reflective grid appearance which LG calls Crystal Reflection."
- Capacitive buttons? For what? And not even a multitask button?
- Also, the description of the backside makes me think that the battery may not be removable.
These are the only two criticisms that I can think of; otherwise, this phone sounds fantastic. I'm particularly impressed by the battery technology LG has introduced (see here, #3)

People still pay for internet security/protection?
Well it's antivirus/firewall software, and claims to protect against identity theft and phishing too. Also includes Norton Online Family, parental controls suite
