I had the same reaction as you Stig. It happened right as I was going to bed and I figured I didn't need e-mail when I slept anyway, so I left it alone and it was fixed this morning.

BTW...Good morning all!

Uh oh - now I have gray connection bars up top too. Ugh, not today.

Also Tweet Lanes got a nice update today - if anyone is not using it for Twitter check it out. Its a great Holo themed Twitter app that keeps it simple. It has no notifications for now, but should be in the next release and its just fast and works really well. I'll be taking some design cues from this app for my update.

So I was updating my wife's iPad last night to iOS 6 and it didn't have enough free space to do so (required 2.7GB). We had used it a couple of times to import some photos to show some people so there were a couple of hundred RAW+JPG pictures in the iPhoto library. So I went into iPhoto to delete them....easier said than done. Took 10 minutes to figure out how, or so I thought. What I had really done was "hide" the photos, but they were still on there. So then I hooked up to the computer to sync and get rid of them that way. No luck. After an hour of trying to figure this out, I had to Google how to do it. I found out you couldn't delete from iPhoto, you had to go into the stock Photo app to delete. Ok, I thought had tried that, but I'll do it again. It took me another 10 minutes to figure out where to access the delete function. So much for an intuitive operating system

+1 on Tweet Lanes.

Even if +1 and twitter aren't the same thing.

Morning all Hope everyone saw the link post on the last page.

Just love how bad Apple is crashing and burning on this one: Apple's Maps App: Just How Bad Is It? | Mashable

"The problems are so numerous, Maps may never have a chance to prove itself before Google comes back strong. The search giant will soon release its iOS version, probably after just enough time has passed for us all to try Apple's Maps and pronounce it dead on arrival."

I'm up and running again. Did it the manual way, one at a time but wasn't too bad.

Still not sure how Titanium is supposed to restore and which options to select or just default and let er rip.

Good to have email on the phone again. Missed 2 appointments and no "instant" gratification.

Won't be fun when the lights eventually do go out.

Use Titanium to backup and restore User Apps and Data. Do not do the System Apps.

And by the way, it took multiple attempts to boot to recovery.

Finally put both thumbs on the volume up/down rocker, crammed it in and then another finger over at power, to get it to work.

I really had to mash that volume button on both sides, to get to recovery.

Once you get, it, it's like you won lotto, a chance to resucitate the patient!~

There are better ways to do this granted you aren't in a bootloop:

1. Boot phone and if you are running custom ROM, hold Power > Reboot > Recovery
2. Boot phone, terminal emulator then type su (enter) and then reboot recovery.

If you're near PC:
1. Plug into computer, command prompt, adb reboot recovery (enter)

Just FYI.

The 5th of November is when Android was announced by the Open Handset Alliance, but 1.0 was released September 20th according to Wikipedia.

Who knows.

ASUS Padfone 2 launch event slated for October 16th in both Milan and Tapei -- Engadget

The Padfone 2! I'm psyched to see what kind of specs it comes with. This would definitely be one of the only non-Nexus devices I'd consider. The ability to expand to a tablet but still be the same interface would be awesome.

EDIT: Looks like at least some of the specs have been found - it'll get the quad-core Snapdragon S4 and 2 GB of RAM, probably JB at launch as well.

I'll and certainly help celebrate Android's fourth birthday, but I'm looking forward to November 6. That's the third birthday of the Motorola Droid's release: and that is when Android really took off and became a household name.

Good Morning All. Well, after long thought, and weighing the positives and negatives, I am standing in line at the Verizon store this morning. I know I should be ashamed, but I really think I am doing the right thing. The folks standing in line with me aren't the brain-washed unclean masses we make them out to be. They really are decent people. And that is why...

Morning folks! Heading out to pick up a load of building materials (20' posts) after work so I hooked the trailer up and came to work with it...had planned on getting here early but my trailer lights weren't working. Spent probably 45 minutes on it before I decided I wasn't going to get it figured out before being late for work. So they still don't work. I think I've got it narrowed down to a fuse though.

Good morning all and TGIF!

Just bought plane tickets for the end of November to visit my dad in Tampa - pretty excited about this. Me and the lady are going for a long weekend, should be nice to get away from the colder weather here for a weekend.

Oh and its iPhone 5 day, but I can assume no one in here will be getting one

Thought I would share a very interesting contest I came across.

Ok, went out to the truck real quick and checked the fuses...all good, so I don't know why my trailer lights aren't working.

Checked all the fuses? Maybe a wire got cut somewhere to the back?

Oh man, if you need some early morning laughs, search "iphone 5 line" on Twitter. Good stuff.

Yeah, I checked the trailer light fuses in the fuse box and they were good. I'm thinking it's a ground issue now, but it would take me hours to trace it. Father-in-law's trailer and he does not follow standard wiring conventions...he follows whatever convention he has laying around within reach at the time

Got a 3' 12-14 gauge electrical line with alligator clips at both ends? Clip on the vehicle side of the hitch, and one on the trailer, usually the ball latch. I had a trailer that wouldn't ground, and that $5 dollar clip would ground it so you had lights. Never came off either.

Jumper cables work too.

So a little bit of WH spam, but I wanted to post this here too. A friend of mine on facebook posted that VZW moved his upgrade forward by 4 months, and so he was going to get either the iPhone 5, or the S3, and what should he get.

18 people so far have responded, and the results are:

16 - S3
1 - You choose what's best for you
1 - iPhone 5.

Alright, serious question.
Wife is tired of our massive desk in our undersized bedroom. It houses the desktop, monitor, printer and a ton of unnecessary junk.
Basically, that computer is used to watch Netflix and what not when we're in there and little to nothing else (printing when we need to).
Would like to get a new monitor, perhaps a larger one, wall mount it and either swap out the desk or take off the top part for some extra storage space.
Anyone want to recommend a 20-23" monitor that isn't very expensive? Really don't want to spend more than $200 (I'm cheap for these things). Looks like there's quite a bit out there in that range.
This one is available at my local BestBuy:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dell+-+24%26%2334%3B+Widescreen+LED+Monitor/2976125.p?skuId=2976125&productCategoryId=pcmcat14 3700050048&cmp=%20%20&lid=abn_sku_1_Monitors_SKU_2 976125_TXT&id=1218368603868
Question is, how easy is it to wall mount it?

Or go for a cheapo HDTV with a monitor in port. Oops, you added a link between posting and me hitting quote.

Dumb question, just checked and the tower does have an HDMI out. Should I assume all functionality would work with a tv vs. a dedicated monitor?

If you have HDMI out on the computer, all the better. Yeah, most HDMI tv's are simply LCD monitors with tuners in them. I saw a few at walmart with built in DVD players too for around $170.

Test it out on you main TV if you have one with HDMI in.

That's, I'll try to give it a shot with our tv.

Just found out about the Roku app for Android. Awesome! Using my N7 for all the navigation. Love this thing.
