Indeed, the N7 barely gets more than a day now with almost now use. Died this morning at about 5AM (battery warning woke me up) after going to bed with it around 60% May be time to flash something different on the N7.

Side note: Went ahead and pulled the trigger last night.

I might move away from CNA because my battery has been pretty awful lately.

Might switch to the Sourcery everyone seems to be mentioning here, but may go back to Jelly Belly - we shall see.

I get morning to night so I don't pay much attention. Although I just today got 4G at work (first time my phone has tasted 4G) so I'll have to pay attention for the next few days.

Wow. Screen grab from a web stored replay of the game from Saturday, so poor quality, but just wow. QB puts the ball on the money yet still gets intercepted.

My offspring is about to get in trouble. The bell for the end of the day rang 22 minutes ago and she still isn't out.

Technically right now I don't have anything better to do (part of being jobless) but yeah I would have waited to get here had I known.

Male Texas school official spanks teen girl, setting off corporal punishment gender debate | Fox News

smh

"She was more humiliated and embarrassed than anything, but the more she and I thought about it, it wasn’t fair and I thought I needed to do something about it.”

"Shaw first had the girl call her mother to approve the punishment, which is required. Jorgensen said she agreed"

It is nice to hear the kids still get paddled in school. Permission shouldn't be needed and it needs to happen at home more too.

^I just find it particularly ridiculous that they approved it over the phone and then re-thought after the child got home and found out it actually did hurt like it's supposed to :P

I probably shouldn't get started on school punishment. Too much crap on both sides to ever have a perfect solution. But... In this situation, here is what I see wrong.

1. Letting the child decide the punishment. Nope. Wrong.
2. Violating district rules. Sorry, but if they are there, they need to be followed. Not saying whether it is a good rule or not, but it was in effect at the time of the punishment, the administrator violated the rules, and he needs to be punished as well.
3. Parent second guessing. Your daughter made the choice, you approved it, if you didn't ask about force levels before approving it, your fault. If you think a spanking is a light tap on the behind, well... sorry. The point of corporal punishment is to discourage offenders from repeating the offense. Guarantee you the girl would think twice before commiting the same offense again... except, back to number one, you give her an out.

I've run extended almost exclusively since I bought the phone. The original battery hasn't been used but maybe a week in total. I'll have a decent backup when this one starts going downhill.

I don't know what to make of battery life ATM. Just got 4G at work. Spent all day with Wug's flashing back to stock so I could force the OTA to JB. Re-root my phone and am still at 67%.

Are you saying your phone was on more than usual because you were doing this? Was the phone connected to USB alot while going back to stock an re-rooting?

Wow, what to call Pup?

Boss? Big Dog? More Bite than Bark?

CONGRATULATIONS whatever your name is!

You know, I am increasingly convinced that more color changes have occurred here in the Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole than in the rest of the Forums combined. From blue to gold to green to red: we have seen it all and the promotions just keep coming!

It's a privilege to be among (a) good friends and (b) the greatest Android minds assembled anywhere online.

P.S. Hey Copacetic, how's that Popcorn kernel coming along? I spent an hour and a half in Nashville rush hour traffic yesterday and thought Ginny was going to burn herself up! Between GPS Navigation, Robin and texting, she was overheating badly and that was on Lean Kernel 430.

Congrats Pup! Happy for you and glad to have you as a moderator.
Hi Chief, Popcorn seems to be doing better in that I have not gotten any total restarts of the phone as I was with Lean. Yesterday, I was almost out of power at about 8 hours with not much use. However, I did have a live wallpaper, 3d effect, running. I have switched back to a static wallpaper today and will see if it goes any better. On Lean, if I was streaming xm and running navigation, even plugged into the charger, i was discharging faster than i was charging.

Yow! Well that's no good. Not for you, anyway. But then I can't really judge ANY kernel by what it does on YOUR phone, can I? I guess I'll have to see for myself. Lean isn't a bad kernel... but it showed its faults yesterday.

Woah, woah, woah congrats Pup - this is incredible. You are more than deserving of this position and for one would've nominated you 100x if they were asking for them. Just adds more color variations from the GNex thread - obviously the best thread ever on AF.

Good morning and happy Tuesday!

Thoughts on this "replacement refs" business?
Pats' loss: crap.
Packers' loss: crap.

Blech. That botched call at the end of the Packers game was awful. I'm less pissed at the refs about the questionable field goal to end the Pats game, though of course I'm more pissed that the Pats lost than the Packers.

That call was absolutely awful as was the missed Pass Interference - he threw one of the Packers defenders out of the way to get into position. The GIF below shows it perfectly and I quoted the rule about a simultaneous catch, which is what some people are defending. It is not a simultaneous catch therefore should be an INT, especially since one ref called it a TD and one ref signaled timeout/touchback which is usually for an INT in the endzone.

Quote:
Simultaneous Catch. If a pass is caught simultaneously by two eligible opponents, and both players retain it, the ball belongs to the passers. It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains joint control. If the ball is muffed after simultaneous touching by two such players, all the players of the passing team become eligible to catch the loose ball.

Even if he had his hands on the ball, how would that be considered "complete control"?!?! This isn't basketball!

As a Packer hater, I obviously have mixed feelings. However the Vikings got screwed too, and imo it was even worse. At least in the Packers game, both calls (no pass interference, simultaneous catch) were judgement calls. In the vikings game, they let the 49ers challenge twice with no time outs! It doesn't get any more black and white. Thankfully it didn't change the result of the game, but it was the worst screw up of the entire weekend. But it's not like it's unprecedented, after all, which team was it that got 5 downs that one time?

Ehhhhh that PI call was pretty black and white haha.

Here is a ZOOMED in shot of the INT by Jennings - pretty clear. I am not a Packers fan, but a fan of the game itself and this is disgusting.

Had not seen the play until that gif Stig. I don't like the NFL and have an alumni of my university playing on both teams. So in my unbiased opinion, it wasn't a terrible call. He got one hand on the ball when it got there, got his other on the ball as he was falling, and when he hit the ground had both hands on the ball just like the Packers guy. At that instant, both had full control of the ball and both are on the ground. Now, I did not see the pass interference portion, so I can't speak to that.

Let me clarify by saying that still probably would not have been the call I made, just wasn't a TERRIBLE call.

Ehhh I don't think he got his second hand on the ball until Jennings was on the ground with it, which would've been an interception at that point. M.D. Jennings pretty clearly caught the ball and Tate tried to wedge his arms in there—attempting to subsequently gain joint control, you might say. So that was clearly not a Seattle reception, simultaneous or otherwise. The only review-able portion of the call was completion (and TD) or incomplete pass and game over. If it truly was an interception then the receiver never had possession of the ball and its an incomplete pass.

I think my BIGGEST problem with this is that one ref calls for a Touchdown and the other one waves for time out which is usually the hand signal for a interception in the endzone which results in a touchback.

Video is here if you want to watch last play in its entirety: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1346903-why-seahawks-hail-mary-win-is-the-breaking-point-for-nfl-nflra-negotiations

Eh, NFL is getting what the deserve in all this. Quit trying to save money off of the refs so you can make more. Pay up and get the real guys back on the field.
