Well, I do think that the replacement refs are getting scrutinized much more highly than the regular refs do. The players, being a part of a union, are obviously going to be on the same side as the refs, and with most announcers being ex-players, their sympathys are the same. I do agree the refs made the wrong call last night, and have screwed up more than the regular refs, but I think the screams are getting louder in part because the regular refs know each game the replacements will get better. Its a situation with diminishing returns for them, and if the NFL doesn't cave soon, either they will, or they will be out of a job.

Found a link from there about the Pats/Ravens game.
People are going nuts! I've seen Ravens fans at a great beer bar in Baltimore, and yeah, they really do hate the Pats. Heard far worse things there too.
If you choose to visit keep in mind, very NSFW.

Not that I know of. Problem is, there's rumors for several devices: Nexus Incredible (okay I made that up), Xperia Nexus, Optimus Nexus, etc.
Once we get something more concrete we'll start some forums. Now is just the time for drooling over blurry phone pics.
Thanks for that guys. Yeah I am pumped. I followed last years thread, and got the Galaxy Nexus as my first ever Android device after years of iPhone use. I am now a total convert, with a Nexus 7 to boot, and I am due an upgrade in about 6 weeks.....
Great to hear, Jeepo!
Can't say I've seen you around much in the Hole, but glad to have you.
Most of us were hugely active in the Nexus Pre-release thread also. Wish there was enough "substantial" rumors swirling to get another one going.

You know folks, I'm not that concerned about Nexus rumors this year. I'm only one year into my two-year contract, and really haven't saved up enough money to buy a Nexus full retail. My dream phone needs to come out NEXT fall 2013; that's when I'm up for a new phone.
Maybe Google realizes this, and knows that 90% of Nexus owners will not buy a new Nexus this year. Maybe they're saving their big guns for next year, when Nexus sales could be much more significant.
I'm not sure why rumors aren't flying yet; but while we're speculating, I figure I'd throw my own observations in there.
Firstly, some of us have 12 month contracts - but that potentially is more of a British thing than US, I simply refused to take a 24 month contract and threatened to leave, so o2 said fine.
Second - For what its worth, of course these rumours can be discredited. Particularly when they start with "A friend told me...."
However, a friend told me there will be Nexus phones come October. He would know, working as he does with google employees daily....Its the very reason he has not updated his SGS2 yet. However he won't say anything more than that, and I want substance and details damnit!

Point One well taken, Jeepo - I had forgotten all about International Gnexers on a one-year (or no) contract. Good call.
Point Two: that was half the fun of the Epic Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release Thread... the euphoric highs as new information came out; and manic lows when that information was discredited. I can't count the number of times that one member (we all know who that was, but I'm not naming names here) threatened to leave the forums completely... and actually did several times, only to return again for the next euphoric high.
As far as your friend who refuses to divulge critical Nexus information so you can pass it along to all your online buddies: what kind of friend is THAT???
Just kidding, of course
We had our sources (a Verizon employee and someone who will forever be known only as "Love Tunnel") and were always careful to balance our "need" for juicy tidbits against their genuine NEED of personal and job security. And we always erred on the side of caution for them. Your friend is right in keeping secrets secret; but if something ever becomes unclassified, we would hope he'd share with you so that we can all follow the latest and greatest.

Real quick without a lot of searching (I just tried):
My Sis just accidentally imported THOUSANDS of facebook contacts into her contact list! How on earth can she batch remove these things without individually deleting them?
I am trying to help her get her S3 cherried out. She traded her iPhone in and she's thrilled to be an Androider!
EDIT: My proposed solutions are (a) delete facebook and hopefully the contacts go with it; (b) remove the facebook account but I don't think that'll clear contacts up. What would you do?

evening all, I am in a pickle here. Phone was plugged into charger when I noticed it was very hot, and not charging. I unplugged it and the usb port of the phone smells burned and the micro usb charger looks burned. I cannot connect to the computer to unroot, return to stock and lock the bootloader as the micro usb charger on the nexie is now toast. What do i do?

Just work-shopping this on the fly...
Upload everything you can to a cloud service. Pics, TiBu buckups, everything! Ensure all contacts are Google.
Download a stock ROM to your phone. Flash it and GApps if need be (wipe data, cache, dalvik).
Over the phone request a replacement due to hardware failure.
Cross fingers and toes. From what I have heard, they will check to be sure what your claim stated is actually occurring, so I wouldn't be too worried about bootloader state and root. Which brings me to this. Can you plug it into a different charged in the exact wall socket? If so, do this before anything else. See what happens. Good luck friend.

Thanks Jmar, i did find an app that will lock the bootloader, i am now looking for a verizon stock rom. Verizon said i need to bring it into a store so they can look at it as this is an unusual problem. They want to see the charger, the phone and the battery.
Does anyone have a stock verizon galaxy nexus rom?

You can download the factory images directly from Google.

Yes it can be downloaded but it is flashed from a terminal on computer while the phone is in fastboot. So without a USB connection as an option, this won't work.
Copacetic: use javroch's stock ROM and uninstall SU.

Thanks Jmar, I looked at JHawk suggestion but knew that will not work without the computer. I did a bunch more reading and found three sites that followed the following steps. » How to Unroot a Samsung Galaxy Nexus (CDMA) Without USB Matt Fischer's Blog
Got my fingers crossed, it is in process now. I have the stock boot animation in process. I will check in when i see where i end up.

ok, all is good, i am locked and unrooted and back on stock 4.02 Icl53 F. It tried to take an OTA but is at 38% battery and will not go through. I obviously cannot charge with the cable so i have to wait for the battery to finish charging in the extra cradle. (I already used my spare ) The only issue i see is the radios, i forgot to flash back to older radios....

The drones at Verizon won't notice. I can promise you this. Take the OTA if you feel like it but even that isn't important. Glad you got the phone back to stock and lock with no root. You are golden.

No idea. It was plugged into the charger as is my custom when available. Then, I noticed it was not charging so I picked it up. It was very hot, i unplugged the charger and the micro usb tip burned my finger. That's when i sniffed the phone, it smelled burned. Tried a second charger, it immediately got blistering hot. Both chargers and the micro usb port on the phone are clearly fried, you can visibly see where they melted and smell it. I can only imagine what might have happened had i not picked it up. I have to take it to a store tomorrow to let them see it before they will proceed.

Yikes. I'm really sorry. Please give us as much info as you can! I'm sure we'd all like to avoid this if possible.

Was going to ask this.
I'm thinking I fried my Flyer because I was using a different charger. When I got it back from being fixed it was listed as having a new motherboard installed.
