Good morning everyone.

I have been chastised again for using the term "cockpit" in referring to the part of the airplane a pilot works. A female pilot told me when there are two women flying the airplane the correct term is "box office."

Sorry I find it annoying that an accepted aircraft term is being changed for PC reasons.

Alright, installing 3.6.6 of CNA on my N7. First time using TiBU! Little nervous. Did a batch backup+data of all apps.
So, just so it's clear. Once I sign in to Google, go to Play, stop any restore of apps. DL TiBu, restore apps+data? Only fear is the whole thing with not restoring data on stock apps? Does TiBu automatically disable that or do you need to do it manually.
Sorry for noob questions, been reading as much as I can.

Restore only user apps and data. NOT system apps. (Although you are more than welcome to try and see what happens since some people have no problems with system data)

Yes, and this makes it so you don't have to download TiBu. Flashing the update.zip puts TiBu on there for you. Once you've flashed everything, signed into Google, told it not to sync, you can go into TiBu and backup everything from there.

Wait CNA released 3.6.6? Did I miss something? I am still on 3.6.5 - hahah.

Yeah but TiBU makes everything super easy to use and if you have PRO its that much better. I absolutely love it and couldn't imagine rooting/ROMing without it.

NEVER do System Data, always just do user apps with their respective data. The ONLY system item I restore is my Wi-Fi access points. If you filter just by System Apps you will see some are red and some are green, the green ones are "safer" to restore than the red ones but I shy away from restoring anything system and only grab my Wi-Fi access points so my passwords go back.

Double post, but oh I see he just released 3.6.6 a few ago. Still hoping for Group SMS to be included into his ROM one of the days. I tried it on Jelly Belly and it works really well - was able to Group Text with iPhone people, but JB is lacking in features compared to CNA which I love as my daily driver.

3.6.6 just came out today.
He's behind on updating the site but if you go to download 3.6.5, it'll prompt you for 3.6.6.
Still on 3.6 on my Gnex. If I get some time today, I'll update it as well.

It's exactly what it sounds like, but I shall explain a bit below.

In iOS5 (I believe) Apple introduced Group SMS in which iPhone users could chat with each other in a large group. So instead of like previous where you'd send out a message to 6-7 people and you'd get individual replies, your text message pretty much turned into a chat room with all 6-7 people chatting and seeing each other's replies. This was awesome, EXCEPT that Apple used a proprietary MMS protocol to make this happen - this was bad news for Android.

If an Android user was included in an iOS group text they would start getting responses from everyone else with iPhones even if they had NO idea who they were and it could get very annoying.

A month or two ago someone figured out how to edit MMS.apk and the Android framework to modify how Android handled these MMS messages and therefore allowed for Android to handle these group text messages exactly how an iPhone would handle them - by keeping the entire chat in one thread in the SMS application. And it works really well and it makes my life 100x easier since most of my friends have iPhones.

Make sense?

Is this similar to Hangouts? Seems like that could be used as well and it's iOS compatible as well. Guess you have to have a G+ account though.

As far as I know its compiled into Jelly Belly (as of V8) and someone forked CM10 to include it in their own ROM.

See here as well: Request for group messages - Galaxy Nexus - RootzWiki - Page 4

I must be missing something, my WiFi passwords have always restored from Google. Only had to enter the one for activating?

Even when I flashed back to stock they were all there and waiting.

I only have to reenter them on my N7 to activate after a wipe, but is that what you're talking about?
I figure if it prompted you for your Google info first before wifi info, it'd already be saved?

Hmmm for some reason mine don't restore - I gotta check my settings then.

Strange.

Well, TT has told me I have 5 more photos I can post hosted through them. Anyone know how to fix this? Delete photos from old posts, disable/enable my account? Am I just SOL? I now have a Photobucket account and their mobile app is pretty nice so may just be going that route is I have to.

Hi everybody, I've been pretty inactive lately, new duties here and very busy at work. Had an emotionally tough day at work today. Don't worry, I'm fine. Just wanted to toss a thanks out to you folks for giving me an escape.

No worries, Pup! I'm sure you got a lot of new duties here on top of work.... and I guess evading the inevitable neck bite.

BTW jmar, I would suggest what I call the Chief Repair Kit for your little bout with stuffy nose (or anything else, really):

NyQuil, chased with Alka Seltzer Plus

That combination will knock just about anything out
