And it's a bittersweet day for the Chief Family: daughter is moving out
It's time for her to leave the nest and venture out on her own... she'll only be about 30 miles away, but that won't stop Mom from boo-hooing, I'm sure...
Dang, what is fixed in 2.5? It's running beautifully on mine after I flashed Franco.
Congrats to your daughter Chief. Definitely a bittersweet day for you guys.

Good Tuesday Morning to the hole! BB...I suck at bowling and Dread, Wii made me look like a good bowler, I even got a strike left handed....trust me ...that is impossible! LOL Doing anything with my left hand is rather amusing!

Geek: If you flashed Franco, then you shouldn't need to worry about 2.5. I just dirty flashed it because I'm a crack-flasher and need to stay on the bleeding edge

Morning all.... Just checking in. Busy week, but get to hang out with friends.... Nice to take a little mental break from the stress sometimes.
Plus getting packed up gets overwhelming.
Since we are all family here... Most of you know we are 99 percent sure we are moving to Austin at the end of the year... I had to tell my 11yr old this last Sunday. Just about made my heart break. Now he is asking me every day... Did you find a job so you can stay? It was not a fun conversation. But that was the easier of the 2 kids and their moms to deal with. His mom is more human and willing to work with us on taking trips out to Austin, seeing my family and spending time with my side of the family, even if I am not here... His sister and her mom on the other hand... Pretty sure the mom of the 6 yr old will be refusing any chance for her to see my family or her brother at all, and will probably try to take me back to court between now and December... Guess we will see what happens. Currently she is refusing to even sit down with me so that I can talk to her... Which may be fine. Kinda want a record of that conversation anyways, so may end up having to do it via email instead. Whatever..... /rant for today.... Thanks for listening!
Chief: hope the moving went/goes well.
And wii bowling... Yup, definitely score better on that one!

Good morning everyone. Made a delicious chicken dish last night that I've made before but made some changes to it last night and it was delicious (linked at the bottom for those intersted).
Ryan - I'm sure in due time they will understand. Luckily I was a bit older when my parents got divorced (and recently my Dad moved to Florida) but they will understand why it has to happen and hopefully get used to it. Luckily they are young enough so that he can still truly grow up somewhere and start fresh - it'll be okay and we'll be here for ya man.
On an Android related note - is everyone running LeanKernel or Franco and stable or nightlies? I was getting instant SoD's this morning on latest Lean Stable so I downloaded the latest Franco nightly and its running like a champ so far.

Padphone 2...everything the next Nexus should be. I so want.

Ha, just threw that through an actual calculator and now it's $1042!?!!?
Understand it's pretty newish technology, but for it to cost that much?
Unfortunately, that will probably be the only way we could get one because I doubt the carriers would carry this. They all balked at the original and will probably do the same for this one.

Of course they won't carry. Two devices and you only need data for one.
This. I don't carry my tablets around much but it's certainly nice to have just one device and with what I believe is 3 total batteries, would give you tons of usage power.
It really is a shame that we get the shaft from our carrier so badly, but if this one has the same frequency bands as the original, then it won't be compatible with at&t hspa, only t-mobile's. GNex lives for probably another year.
Phew, was asked to come in for a meeting today on my day off by the GM. Talked to the owner, he said it was cool if I didn't. Sure I'll make a few folks upset but whatever, I need my rest.
Dear lord, Cop, that's beautiful!
Don't get so much here being in the city (but Rock Creek Park is nice). Remember growing up in MA and we had some massive leaf changes. My dad said it was all about a sharp drop in temp rather than a slow chilling that helped. Not sure the truth in it, but know some of the old maples were just gorgeous this time of year.
That's Mt Mitchell on the top left, highest peak east of the Mississippi. We are just about at peak here.
Ah, I've climbed that mountain with my dad years ago. Nice, leisurely hike actually. The views aren't the best unfortunately since there's no tree line. One of the things I really miss about growing up, hiking in the Presidentials (in NH) and the Adirondacks. Unfortunately, the day we summitted Mt Marcy in NY, it was super foggy and raining so we didn't stick around for any of the views.

Good morning - for some reason I am quite the opposite (sorta). Once I get out of bed I am awake - went for another run this morning, but boy was it freezing out. Not sure how much longer this will last.

How is JB Sourcery working everyone? I am having issues with CNA lately and I am not sure what is going on.
The phone lags really badly sometimes to the point where it becomes totally unresponsive and I even will get the "Not Responding" dialog in some apps, which I haven't seen in a LONG time. I was thinking of going to JellyBelly because its so lightweight, but I think that it may be missing some of the features that I love in Custom ROMs.
Like right now my Spotify radio (on 4G) is skipping in certain places on random songs, ugh.
Sourcery is one of the smoothest ROMs I've run Stig. I ran JellyBelly, CNA, and even AOKP for a little bit. Sourcery has been the best. Not even close.

I'm waiting for that last one.
CNA 3.7 included it, but he pulled the update a few days back because of some build issue that was causing bootloops and has been dark on the net since then so waiting to see.
It might be time for a good fresh wipe though if going to CNA 3.7 too.
What kernel is everyone running? I am on Franco nightly 290 with some modifications I found on Rootz, but I might go back to Franco or Lean stable when I flash again and leave it at that and see how well it performs.

JellyBelly has had it in since v8 (up to 9.1 now) and I know it has worked really well there. I just have some family members with iPhones so I'd rather wait for the feature to be built into one of the ROMs I enjoy using.

Unforgiven,
well, after an exhaustive internet search of Wub's toolkit, which I could never find, I decided to use Wug's toolkit, and it worked! (LOL, jk!) Seriously, thanks for the suggestion - after getting the drivers installed, it worked well.
Here's another pic I took with Nessie on our bike ride down the Virginia Creeper Trail. If you've never done that ride, it is an absolute blast! 17 miles DOWNHILL, which means little pedaling! My kinda ride! We hit the leaf colors nearly at their peak, albeit maybe a little early. Here's a sample:
NC, I just thought of something. I don't remember when you dropped off the map. I used to be pupkact, but changed my username. Folks call me Pup for the most part now.
Well peeps, its been a blast. I have ignored this watering hole for a while now, the S3 is the reason. But it is pretty much official. I am relinquishing ownership of my Gnex.
Don't worry though, its going to a great home where I hope it serves the new owner better then it did for me
The Epic pre release thread and now the Gnex watering hole, the device did not have a chance to compete with either for me
Bye bye, Gnex, I wish it would have worked out better for us
Find me in the S3 watering hole, though I may still peek in here time to time. Thanks for the blast everyone!
