So, I mentioned several days ago that my wife had disappointed me with her knowledge of music. Not knowing the words to Rocket Man, not even knowing the song Piano Man at all, and not knowing what the song He Stopped Loving Her Today is about. Well I find out last night that she doesn't even know who ZZ Top is!!! Holy COW!!! Who did I marry!? LOL
Our book keeper updated her browser to IE9. Haven't used it myself but it looks pretty slick. Too bad you can't use Chrome for those services. Wonder if there's any hack for it though?
I'll admit, IE9 is pretty slick. Our computer is in the corner of our bedroom and I use both IE9 and Chrome on it as I usually keep one browser set up to stay on display 2 (TV) for movie viewing and one set up on the main monitor for every day browsing.

Perhaps I'll give it a shot. What I like most is CLEANLINESS of my browser. Chrome seems to be the best for that. Even FF can't touch it (plus everytime I launch it when I have to it prompts me to update some extension, ugh).

Also wonder if I was running win8 on one machine... Could I access the win8 machine through chrome .. Then into the server that way? Options... Options...

Bullying that results in death is essentially homicide to me... I hope the bullies are put UNDER the prison. Sorry to hear it, Halon.
All you folks on the eastern seaboard (looking at YOU, BB) BE CAREFUL! This hurricane Sandy / nor'easter storm is gonna be a booger! Get food, water, batteries, ammo (for those of you so inclined), and fuel.
I hope and pray for the best for you all... but it's good to be prepared for the worst
EDIT: Just found this: one more day and rooting phones is fully OKAY!

Sounds like this calls for a day in Rock and Roll detention, starting with a screening of "School of Rock" followed by the PBS series History of Rock n Roll (great dvd boxed set BTW). Then both Blues Brothers films (classic cameos from the greats). If she doesn't get it after that rock infusion, then you may need to put her in some type of remedial RNR education program. :-D

Thanks Chief! Yeah, we picked up the basement yesterday in prep. Anything over 5 inches of rain and its a good chance we get water in our basement. I'll have my batteries for Nyxie all charged at all times. And we have plenty of water and candles. And I have a bunch of books to read. I hate storms like this.

Marcus Lattimore down with ANOTHER knee injury. Haven't seen it but heard it was horrific. Really hate it for that kid.

Owww, that looks bad. Reminds me of the Joe Theismann break when he got hit by Lawrence Taylor. His leg doubled over. L.T. was so upset he was screaming to the sidelines for help.

Go Giants. Go Sooners.
Thanks bro. Even though this isn't a sports forum I have been trying to keep my posts from jinxing anything. That said, it feels good being a Giants fan right now! Let's go Giants, let's go!

Sandy has created mostly a rain event here on the southern coast of North Carolina. We are having a lot of wind, but really not much different than a good non-hurricane related storm. However, we do live in a house that is built on pilings (stilts) and I am not sure I will ever get used to the idea of the house swaying

Just checked out the ocean, it is not as churned up as one would expect. We face south and the wind is coming from the north so it is keeping the wave action down and actually pushing against it. The sound however is pushing more water towards us which is something we usually see in a Nor'easter or if we are on the back side of a hurricane.
Watching The Shining for the first time. I didn't realize it was Jack when I first saw him, not used to seeing him that young. And, I forgot the girl that played Olive Oil, in the live action Popeye movie with Robin Williams, was in this.

Morning folks!
Well, latest tracking is showing Sandy go further north from us so it probably won't be a direct hit to the DC area. Philly, on the other hand, yikes!

Morning! Sandy is passing us ever so slowly. The wind is still very high and from the North and it has stopped raining. The ocean is almost calm, you can see the swells but the wind knocks them down quickly, one of the advantages of a south facing beach! Good luck to all of you North of us.

Morning friends. Up early to 'reserve' a spot at a local park for my son's birthday party! Picked up some VIA for the wife...she likes iced coffee. Drinking a Grande Soy Latte right now though I was up before getting my fix.

Good news is that the storm meant my dad wanted to do something to keep my daughter calm (she is a BIG worry wart) so he took her to the movies which allowed me to sleep in! I have awesome parents.
The bad news is that the red parts of every image I've seen of the path of Frankenstorm is right over me. Ugh.

I'm in Northern NJ and we haven't seen too much other than a couple gusts of wind stronger than normal. But we aren't really supposed to see much till later tonight with it getting increasingly worse through tomorrow into Tuesday. Schools are all closing around us though...ours is closed tomorrow with a strong chance of Tuesday but the superintendent refuses to call it off until he has to (I can't blame him but really?? What if the power goes out and he can't get to the service that does the call.)

Mine used to be the same way back in high school. There were days it was DANGEROUS getting to school because of snow/ice and he never called it.
My little camaro slid on ice like it was nothing. I pretty much drove without brakes in the winter because id just lose control
And it wasn't just me complaining that it was dangerous

Storm passed through here (southern coast of NC) yesterday and last night. Lots of rain and wind, but nothing major here.
However, feel free to smash it for our BB!
