Today is a sad day in history. She has served us in every major conflict since the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. 50 years later, USS Enterprise - our first nuclear powered carrier - has come pierside and her reactors shut down for the last time. Never again to go to sea.

You would think that they would make a museum out of her... but no, they're going to make razor blades. Yep, Big E's scheduled to be scrapped.

Anyone else find irony in an iPhone 5 case that looks like an ice cream sandwich?

I agree, it's a sad day. But I have a feeling the Big E will be back someday

Seriously, almost 12 hours and no posts? Oh well, good morning everyone! Busy week ahead of me, just like the one after that and the one after that .

Anyone else think we should do away with Daylight Savings time? Now that we are off it, I felt so much more rested this morning, getting to sleep in an hour later according to my internal clock.

Morning Anti. Must have been a busy night for everyone last night. We were super slammed last night at the restaurant. Don't know what was bringing everyone out!

Good Morning all. I always find it tough to get use to standard time coming from daylight savings. It's so weird having it be completely dark by 4:30. Makes it dangerous drive home every night from work looking out for deer. On a side note, I don't personally watch, but everyone has been blowing up my Facebook/Twitter feeds with Walking Dead posts. I guess something major happened last night? I have to catch up personally on last night's Dexter that I recorded.

Morning folks! Tried to rest some on my day off yesterday and did get a little so I feel refreshed this morning. Rolling back the clock had something to do with that I'm sure.

Chromebook is coming tomorrow! Problem is it's going to my work and I won't be there (and lord knows I'm not going in to pick it up. ).
Dumb question, I know I'll get the free 100Gb on Drive for two years. I assume it'll simply expand the amount I'm already using or will I have to have a separate account?

Seriously, the "new features" are listed in Recovery to give you something to read as you're flashing it - that's the only changelog I know of right now. Nice stuff and all... but I'm a crack-flasher so I can't leave well enough alone. Gotta be on the bleeding edge!

Just make a nandroid BEFORE you dirty flash it - if you don't like it, restore back. No sweat.

Flashing one of the newer 4.2 keyboards. Still probably won't sway me from SwiftKey (and can't wait for the new version!). But I'll give it a shot.

Halon, I haven't used Wallet in so long I really couldn't tell you. They are becoming such a pain in the backside to work around with Verizon and ISIS and all that I long ago spent down my pre-paid balance. If it works, it works. If it doesn't anymore, no love lost.

I'm in a similar mood about wallet as chief. Flashing as many roms as I do, it got tiring resetting and then having to set up my cards again. Not to mention all of the carrier crap that we are subjected to. I really want Google Wallet to come through in the end. I hope Verizon eventually gets put in their place by the FCC for block C violations, or the FTC for anti-competitive practices.

Fully back online - glad to see everyone is on and okay.

Been helping out places and helping organize some donation stuff for the hurricane relief. What a crazy week its been. All my friends & family are okay, but there are a ton of people who aren't.

I should be back to full capacity today even though I am still working from home as my office just got power back yesterday but we were told not to go in unless absolutely necessary.

Morning all.
Welcome back Stigy... Stay safe.
Hope everyone is having an okay week. Crazy here but for other reasons... Work is nuts right now. With the transition happening at the end of the year, someone planned to have the new group up and running by then... Except that the current group is out of work to do... And the new group is going through the rest too quickly... Going to be interesting to see what happens. Getting close to the slowest season of the year...

After seeing the vids of the J Butterfly, I'm pretty intrigued.

Good morning folks - and JHawk: GOLD! CONGRATULATIONS and well done!

It's the next step in your progression to green, then red, then...

Also HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY Android! Okay, so I'm a day late on this one. Oh well...

Anyway, I'm asking you to VOTE. It's not just a right that generations have defended for us, it's a civic responsibility... the duty of a free people if they wish to stay free.

I should hope that you would vote conscience, not character. Vote context, not color or charisma. Vote principle, not politics. But whatever your political influence is or where you're at in your life, please: VOTE!

I had to drive back home to vote today because I forgot about changing my voter registration. It has been 3 months since I've been back there and these damn things are popping up everywhere! Last I went back there wasn't any.

Amazon Prime monthly subscription: $7.99 to compete with Netflix | BGR

This makes it almost $100 for a year, more than what I pay now. But if you pay for the whole year at once you get a 20% discount and it is about $3 cheaper than what I pay now.

Thanks everyone on the congrats. I felt it was about time to get more involved and that was a great way. Went to the polls early this morning, but most of my votes end up meaningless living in NYS. Those downstaters just canabalize all the upstate votes.

In other news, I think Verizon put a new tower up just outside of the building I work at, I'm now getting signal numbers on my nexus that I've never seen before, -63 dBm. That's incredible and I finally have lte at work. Someone was also an idiot and pulled the fire alarm and made us all go outside and freeze our butts off for 30 minutes. Now one of my classes is going to be off by a day compared to the rest. Such as life I suppose.

Installed 4.2 gapps with Sourcery 3.1 and everything is working. Also installed Wallet 4.2 and that is now working for me.

Do you notice anything different in Talk 4.2?

The download links that article directs you to for the gapps seems to be broken now. Guess I'll look again later.

Giving Sourcery a try after using CNA forever. Anyone have any favorite tweaks for it? Using stock kernel or other?

I might be one of the odd balls that seems to get great battery using Faux Kernel on Jellybean. Franco Kernel has never liked my phone, and LK was good, but not as good as Faux for some reason.

So far, Sourcery seems a bit snappier than CNA. Looking through the tweaks. Will stick with the stock kernel for now and see how it goes.

Made it through voting with much shorter lines than it was this morning. Next time EARLY voting! Spoke to my mom who lives in IN and that's what she did.

Election day. I'm so glad it's finally here! And I don't even live in a battle state. Walking to my voting station soon.
