I've done early voting in the past, but I enjoy going to the voting booth when I'm in town.

Yes, I'm a glutton for punishment, but living in a small town the lines aren't that long.

In Tennessee early voting started October 17th at 8 AM. I was there at 7:59 and there was a line.

Wow! So far, newscasters are saying turnout was as impressive as 08. All I know is, it's going to be a long night.

Long night indeed. And I promise I will stay neutral in these forums

Anyone flashed the 4.2 Gapps and Wallet yet? Particularly with JBSourcery 3.1.5? And do I need a clean flash, or will the old user data still work? I suppose it should...

Download stalled on me so never got it (perhaps server was slammed?). Ended up flashing whatever was the latest on Goo. Believe it's 4.1.2 based.

Thanks, Chief! Can I flash those over my existing GAPPs, or do I need to reflash the ROM?

Okay, here's the link to the Dropbox folder:

My plan here is to MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP and then immediately dirty flash the ROM & these Gapps. Hopefully nothing will go wrong: if it does, I'll simply wipe everything and restore the nandroid until I'm ready to clean flash everything. Almost charged up!

I am never putting Google chrome on my phone again. This is the fourth time I've tried it out and that thing drains my battery like no other.

I don't know if it's just me but Google Chrome runs fine as long as I don't put on Chrome to Phone. That is like an instant siphon for my battery.

Morning folks!
Man, I'm tired. Once it was called last night I went straight to bed.
Looks like people in NJ are going to get some snow today through the night. Hope you guys and gals will be okay there!

Morning all! Well a bit of a surprise last night, I thought it would be a late night, Nope! Went to bed at 10 knowing the result. Sometimes you wonder how much of the narrative is to drive ratings, haha.

So the DNA looks sweet, it's killing me I don't have an upgrade. A year is about all I can ever stand I'm afraid .

DNA does look intriguing. HTC generally has great dev. support (but being on VZW, who knows). Also, all I hear about them is atrocious battery life. Still that screen.....

I'm the same way about only being satisfied for one year before getting that upgrade itch. I really hope there's some shred if truth in mobile panda's statement regarding the nexus 4 and Verizon around January.

Morning all!! I hate the entire area of a ridiculous gas shortage. Its insane and ridiculous. And now we are getting a nor'easter and everyone is out again in very long lines.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Here comes the snow!

Also I've been driving really stupid low lately - oh well. Snow tires to go on next week because we are going to have 60 temperatures.

Evening folks!
Typing from my new Chromebook! Love it! Showed it off to a few folks at work. They were all quite impressed (as am I). Keyboard is better than my Gateway (which is island style, not chicklet). Still learning quite a bit from it, but once I signed into my account, all my bookmarks and tabs were immediately transferred. Awesome!

How does it compare to the transformer in terms of capability and function?

I haven't stressed it much so far. Just a couple videos and web browsing, but site rendering is much better on the Chromebook. I'm really just a web PC person so this is great (especially since Chrome is my browser of choice). Screen is much better on the Prime, but performance, so far, seems to be better on the Chromebook. With the docking station, I spent $500 on the Prime. This cost half. You do the math.
Also, it's lighter, the keyboard is better and it isn't as top heavy as the Prime.

The top heaviness of the transformer was always one thing that irritated me about it, and that price difference sure is drastic. I just wonder how well it will sell because it seems the netbook market is failing in favor of the tablet market.

I have an old HP netbook (when my desktop died). XP just drags even with an Intel Celeron. So far, this is working quite smoothly. I have really no experience with Linux distros, but this this seems to be just as light weight and not so taxing on the OS.

When my laptop died, I started using splashtop on my transformer a lot more as a replacement. I actually like using Ubuntu over windows in general, but there's no splashtop streamer for Ubuntu yet, plus I don't use it much anymore because I have been trying endlessly to try and get my wireless card to work with it, but to no avail

I'm in no way a computer whiz, but I believe dual booting Ubuntu (among other Linux distros) on Chromebooks isn't so hard. Flipping the developer switch is what it takes.

I am getting that from a lot of people... Especially with the new pricing, the N7 is the tablet of choice now for the sub 10" market. Google has a winner on their hands, and with JB, Android never looked so good.

Good Morning Everyone! How are all are friends faring in the North East this am? We have bee cold here for us, the temps the last few days have been more like a late January or February cold snap with lows in the 30's and highs only in the upper 40's or low 50's. This weekend is looking great though as we venture back into lows in the 50's and highs in the 70's. I am so glad its going back to normal...oh how I hate to be cold.....brrrrrrr. Have a great day everyone!

Wow. I know its the end of one product cycle vs. the beginning of another, but for ONE single Android phone model to outsell an Apple model, this is a huge milestone IMO...

A lot of former iPhone 4 owners I know found the iPhone 5 underwhelming and decided to try that "next big thing".

I've had 3 friends who had iPhone 4'sent have their upgrades come up and convinced 2 to get the gs3, the other the RAZR maxx HD. All 3 love them so far and one was a huge Apple fanboy. Shows how far things have progressed.

An avid apple fan friend of mine has had nothing but trouble with his new I5, even thinking about going back to his i4.

The ad where the big guy is looking at the screen size difference saying, "I like to win!" while the little old lady next to him shoots back, "You like to whine," slays me every time I see it.

Holy smokes, I just took a peek at the Walmart Black Friday ad: an HP2000 laptop for $279!

Looks like it's gonna be a long night for the Chief

Sears will have a 50'' LED Toshiba for $299. I'm thinking that could be an item a lot of people will go after.

You can buy wine on Amazon now but only if you have Prime.

Starting today, anyone in California, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming and the District of Columbia can get up to six bottles in one order, with a shipping cost of just $10.

Good morning friends.

When people in California complain about the weather, I scoff. I hear of you folks weather and know of the weather around the nation and I have to say we are lucky here in Cali.

That is a killer deal, I might have to do more research on this to see if it's worth the nightmare.

What a shame, NY isn't on the list. Probably due to the stupid laws that don't allow non-cooking wines to be sold in supermarkets.

I have the same feeling when I hear people talk about the heat down south, though I tend to roll my eyes when people complain about getting snow. There aren't too many metro areas in the US that get more snow than us here in the Buffalo/Rochester/Syracuse area. Guess you tend to shrug off the extreme weather of your particular region.

Been spirited in here the last week.

How have Chief, sorry about the van, BB, hope Athena didn't hit you too hard, I've been a very busy bee the last couple of weeks. Don't get here as much as I used to.

BTW, when did we start naming winter storms?

It's something the weather channel decided to start this year. The local weatherman here ripped them pretty hard for doing so.

I think its kinda funny to name the storms. Everything else gets a name, why not the winter storms. And their names are better anyway.

Thanks Pup! All is pretty ok here. Delayed opening for schools but otherwise everything was clear by the time we had to leave.

That way they can use the same hype machine music that they do for Hurricanes!

Yeah, once again I have been banished to staying at home for Black Friday. Not too happy about it. Oh well online sales are fun too, although doubt I will be buying anything this year...
