Thanks pup, I almost never do, but was just taking advantage of the time in the car to clean up my husband's tablet. BTW, GOOD TO SEE YOU IN THIS, THE NUMBER ONE HOLE, LOL. Hope you're time off is about to start and you enjoy your R&R!
Wow, that's a bummer.
Verizon is looking worse than AT&T these days.
It really is a bummer, but I'd be lying if I said I was surprised. Samsung phones never use to be locked, but then the gs3 and note 2 come along and that trend completely changed. I can say with relatively high confidence that any subsidised Verizon phone will be locked and encrypted from now on .
No traveling yet. I'll be baking a pumpkin cheesecake here soon then work and then driving back home.

No traveling for me either... Except work today, an 8 min drive to see family for dinner tomorrow afternoon... And then an all day wine tasting trip on Friday...
Happy Day before the Turkey Day!

I think I may try it as well Sourcery doesn't appear to be on 4.2 yet. Does Jelly Belly come with a custom kernel? I think I'd like to try a different option, see if something plays better with my phone than LeanKernel does.

So stupid me....when I split the batter for the pumpkin I had the 1/4c. of sugar sitting there to mix in and forgot. I did what any normal person would do. I opened up the oven, spread the sugar over the top and mixed it in with a fork.
I experimented a little with my pizza dough recipe yesterday and I think I really hit on something. Going to make a few tweaks next time and I think I'll have a really good dough recipe on my hands

Well folks, it's the one month countdown to Doomsday! Maybe I should celebrate our 22nd Anniversary early, as 12/21 may be cut short by global catastrophe...
EDIT: Would love some free Win8, but I have no clue what a KMS server is

Morning everyone! Busy day, cleaning the house in the morning, also I have some vegetable stock going on the stove to use in the turkey brine. Tonight is prep work for tomorrow. Whew. Gonna try to get over to VZW at some point.
Yeah bootloader locked is a bummer, one more thing to think about today in the store. but since VZW isn't getting another Nexus, it will be the same for all of us on big red with our next upgrade
I firmly believe they won't. Just too many factors in play against them.
-Botched Galaxy Nexus launch
-Verizon's want/need for locked bootloaders
-Verizon's want/need to put their apps on phones
-Verizon's CDMA network as opposed to the rest of the world's GSM
I believe the direction of the Nexus program was shown with the Nexus 4. I think Google wants to start making ONE Nexus phone at a low cost and shipping it worldwide. This points to a GSM phone as there aren't many CDMA carriers.

I agree with this - it makes me want to leave Verizon. And this HTC DNA fiasco with Verizon makes me want to leave it even more but the coverage and LTE is second to none.
A minimum of 25 computers to activate a KMS network? Well, as much as I like the idea of getting a $40 Win8 Pro for free, I am NOT going out and buying 23 more computers to get it

I think it means that license is used by 25+ computers - not sure you need to activate it 25 times on 25 computers. Article might have been a bit misleading.

I firmly believe that when volte starts up, they may not have a choice because you theoretically should be able to put an unlocked compatible lte phone on their network, and they can't say otherwise, thanks to block c regulations. It remains to be seen how this will work in practice though.
So I went to the VZW store, and after 3 minutes, told the CSR I would take it. The screen is amazing. And the phone is the best looking phone I have ever owned. Signal strength is slightly better than the GNex, unfortunately I am not at work until Saturday to see if it makes a difference there. We will see how the battery is, but I don't need battery life with my usage, (Near a charger always). I bought an OTG cable, and flash drive, even though I don't have enough to fill it up on my GNex after a year.

So that's the DNA Anti?
Well please let us know how it is! What is it running - 4.1.2?
Yeah, 4.1.2. I will say, I feel it is slightly slower on navigating menus etc. than the GNex, but only side by side. It's not bad enough to notice on its own, its still smooth as butter too. Those reviews talking about stuttering or laggy performance.. well I don't see it. Wireless charging is sweet too, the LG one VZW sells is the perfect match, and they are even about the same color.
Which is why I'm going to retire my X and use an upgrade to get a RAZR MAXX HD this weekend.
Build quality and radios that are next to none. At least for me, I live on the phone and business is lost with calls that are lost or one-way audio. Which is why I tried and did not go with the gorgeous GN as much as I tried and tried. Can I still hang in the WH if I am a professed traitor?
Thanksgiving 2012: After being up 24 hours straight to remotely get our daughter up and into a car service (1:30am my time), then to Newark, then to Vancouver (first time flying alone), then to Whistler; and Mrs. Treo, son and GF from LA; the whole fam is finally in one place for the first time in a year. Looking forward to Turkey Day and caramel apple shots (thanks Stigy!).
Hope all of you have a safe and happy time with family and loved ones (GO DSB!).

So last night I found out you can dual boot Ubuntu 12 and ChromeOS on the Cr-48 I recieved from Google a while back. I had been using my OLD school laptop (6+ years old) and it was alright but it was bulky and heavy. Besides the storage limits (still can fit eclipse and Android SDK) this thing is absolutely amazing. Battery life is nothing short of amazing - I am in love with this thing again.
Woohoo - thanks Google!

Why not do it online or via customer service before?
WOrst case scenario, you upgrade on the line it is on, then over the phone with Verizon, reactivate the old phone, then activate the new one on the line you want it on.

You know, I have to hand it to Amazon Prime: they're FAST.
I ordered a 32GB Class 10 microSD card (great deal) and my own Christmas present* yesterday. Got them TODAY. I don't think I could give up my Prime now.

Yes, it's an annual quandry of mine. All year if I want something I just buy it... then my family asks what I want for Christmas. I DON'T KNOW - I already have it all!
So I pull a list of stuff out of my... er, left sleeve, and then it turns out that absolutely none of the stuff I want is available locally. Naturally, I'M the only one with online accounts in the house plus I kinda run the household budget. So guess who gets to order his OWN presents?
