Helping out in the college's math tutoring center gets so stressful during finals week. Ever the life of the college student, procrastinating until the last possible minute to learn an entire course.

Edit: I'm in the dark is well. What invite?

So the Nova update isn't "live"? I don't have one in the Play Store, looks like it needs to be sideloaded as per DL.
Guess I'll wait, not sure how it'll affect updates and my Prime purchase.

Morning folks! Indeed, Ingress is a game. I was mainly just intrigued by it. I don't see myself playing it much, but it does seem like an interesting concept.

Holy smokes! Whilst we slept (or did whatever), Verizon and Samsung were busy:

My Darling Bride's S3 was automatically updated to 4.1.1 Jelly Bean!

I never thought I'd see the day...

EDIT: Oh, but of course:

"Device now includes support for the Isis Mobile Wallet™; Shop, pay, and save with your phone using the Isis Mobile Wallet. The Isis Mobile Wallet holds virtual versions of most things your existing wallet does such as payment cards, loyalty cards and coupons. Just tap your phone to pay at any Isis Ready™ merchant." Just needs a new SIM card and "special software" for it to work... and of course, an ISIS-ready merchant. Which is non-existent anywhere around here

Wow, pretty soon it'll be ahead of the VZW Gnex.
Looking to update to the latest Sourcery today. Is it on their site, or still just IRC?

Ha, should have read the first comment on DL about the Nova update install:
Quote:
You can also install the beta right from within Nova launcher.

Just go to Nova settings, scroll to the bottom and tap "Check for updates..." then tap the three dots (top right) and select the beta radio button and also check the box for check automatically. After doing so, a download link for the beta will appear and it will download straight to your phone. Once it's done, just click to install.
Worked great, checking out the new features now.

Ugh I can't stand the fact that he keeps getting starts and the fact that we also have Tebow on our team.

What the jets need to do is start Grec McElroy - the kid was amazing in college and has great potential in the NFL. Woody Johnson made a horrible decision to bring in Tebow to try to sell tickets and merchandise - but guess what, no one buys merch of a losing team. A lot of people will blame Rex Ryan, but I don't think he is the problem. He is a great coach (besides his man crush on Sanchez) and does a lot of great things for the team as well as bring great energy in, but something needs to change soon.

GMAC holds the SEC record in ratio of attempts to interceptions, averaging one pick every 65.8 pass attempts during his career. That is an awesome stat and someone needs to give him a chance to show his stuff.

Being an avid SEC fan, I know McElroy well. He won't win you many games like a Peyton Manning, RGIII, or some other prolific QB, but he will not lose you many either. He's a quality QB that is pretty darn consistent.

Here's the changelog:
Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I haven't noticed anything in the past updates, but one thing that helps is speeding up screen transitions (by limiting animations) and boy, if you set it on "Speed of Light", this puppy flies.
Quadcore, schmadcore, the Gnex is doing just fine.

Wife and I played Dance Central 2 for Kinect in workout mode for 30 minutes or so last night. Quite the workout! Think it'll be something we can throw in our mix and keep us more motivated with different things to do.

Hmm, never tried importing from one launcher to another. Apex and Nova are so similar that maybe it's possible?
I'm loading up Sourcery 4.0 now (backing up currently) so can't check it out. Purchased Nova Prime and haven't looked back. I like as clean a look as possible, so it works for me. Really, the only reason I started using it was to get rid of that stupid perpetual search bar.

Those of you who haven't seen the latest Beautiful Widgets update might want to take a look. I had went away from it for a while to try a different look, but wow! They've got one of the best looking notification pulldown weather displays I've seen. Just discovered the lock screen widget too...very nice.

Nice find, Geek!
I updated before I backed up with TiBu and went to restore my widget and found the interface quite different. Will have to check out the other settings they have.

Open the BW app and click the 3 verticle dots for settings. Turn on weather notifications and you can change the status bar icon to temp, weather, or remove the icon but all three options give you the weather panel in the pulldown. Very nice!

Add the BW 4x4 to the lockscreen. It minimizes to 4x1 but with 1 swipe down expands to full screen and gives you the forecast.

With these I don't even know why I would go back to anything other than a very close to stock ROM. This lets me stay on JellyBelly unless I get an itch to flash Sourcery and see what they come up with later.

Speaking of updates, folks...

JBSourcery 4.1 is out

It's an update from 4.0 or as a full ROM if you're on something else.

Gah! I just wiped everything to load 4.0. You're killing me. Well, not you specifically.

Now I'm REALLY happy I waited so long to flash. I'll just jump to 4.1 and skip everything between. (I've been too lazy to flash anything)

Can anyone link to his changelog? Not that I plan on switching away from JellyBelly since its incredibly fast and stable, but just wondering whats included in his new version.

Yes, I have noticed decreased signal with sourcery 4.1. I was always between - 85 and -93, now it's a solid - 100

I routinely run about -85 to -90, I'm at -87 on 4.1. So I'm in the range. I guess YMMV on these things but I have always understood that ROMs have little to do with signal strength. The JB baseband radios are what they are, for the most part.

EDIT: The updates to Apex Launcher are awesome! Resizable ICONS? Count me in - I reduced mine to 90% and stuck another column on the homescreen without it looking too cluttered! And yes, Apex will import desktop data from other launchers

That is for the most part true. I have seen cases where the rom affected the signal, like we saw with the very early jellybean ports this summer from the 4.1 maguro. It just seems unusual and you're probably right about ymmv.

I use Nova and the latest update allows the same, but I had not thought of messing with them till I saw this. That allows me to make a much cleaner looking home screen! Thanks Chief!

I have 1 more final to give/grade and then I'm off until mid January. Nice time off, but I don't get paid in the meantime. Makes things a little tight to say the least.

I saw something saying this video was fake! That crazy video of a golden eagle trying to make off with a toddler? Yeah, it's a fake | io9

Anyway, good afternoon all I got my Ingress invitation just a few minutes ago! I'm going to be signing up shortly. Any current players have tips?

I just saw the same RS.

I've played Ingress for like 20 minutes in the past 2 days. Really can't figure it out. I've collected a bunch of XM and linked the practice portals, but other than that I'm just kind of confused. Aside from the fact that things are sparse in my area...that makes it even more confusing.
