Yep, just 3 more hours for us east coast folk. Busy day ahead, but I love Christmas. Listening to Christmas music all night

Happy Christmas eve everyone (except for those of you across the pond, such an impatient lot!) had a mini party with my wife's sister and her family tonight, a lot of fun, the kids got a few presents to open and I got one to open, victirinox chefs knife and santoku, and a thermos backpack bottle. Pretty pleased with my haul

As midnight approaches on the east coast...

Merry Christmas to my AF Friends. I seem to know more about your lives than those of some family and friends. And Happy Hannukah, Kwanzaa and Festus too! I really enjoy your camaraderie.

Now this old saw has been around the block, but it's worth repeating.

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, “My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It is fear, anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.” The grandson thought for a moment and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf wins?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

I'll try to feed to Good one.

Wishing each of you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2013.

Merry Christmas to everyone here, wherever you may be. Or Happy Hanukkah. I hope everyone has the day off and gets to spend it with people they care about.

Huh, was wondering about Netflix last night and looks like it was down according to The Verge.
Apparently they run their streaming servers off of Amazon. And, yes, Amazon was streaming just fine.

If you have flash installed you can view through the desktop site. I googled awhile ago about an AIV app and I know people were working on getting it to work. I haven't checked recently. As for content? It seems sufficient for me.

Finished dinner. Looks like all I made was a hit!
Pork turned out beautifully (and it was the first time I made pork loin!). Brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, roasted acorn squash, roasted pineapple. Was nice. Got frustrated with the in-laws new stove and nearly freaked (okay, more beer). But all and all, very nice. Few more hours and we head to see Les Mis.

Sounds delish! Ours is almost ready to eat: duck, ham, sweet potato souffle, green beans and potatoes, dressing, pumpkin pie and cherry pie made from cherries right off the tree. Bon apetit!

Thinking of going to watch The Hobbit?

Since we are sharing meals...I had lasagna. That is our Xmas tradition. I'm not sure how that ever came to be?

So we saw Les Mis last night, sold out show! The girls ahead of us didn't get in. Thankfully we reserved ahead of time.
It was pretty amazing. I've seen the musical before so sort of remember the story line and the songs. Jackman and Hathaway were great. Highly recommended.

Good morning everyone and Merry Christmas (belated, but still).

Hope everyone had a great holiday with family, friends & some good presents.

I enjoyed the nice 4-day weekend and bottling some beer and starting a new brew. Anyone get anything really exciting?

Hope you all had a great Christmas.

Son got me a Samsung tab 2.0 7". The internet speed makes my Nexus seem like a pokey puppy.

I just click it and boom, i'm on. Wi-Fi both of them but you really notice the difference.

Yeah, perhaps. I guess I'm just a hardened winter weather vet. People in general are always in too big a rush to be bothered with safe winter driving. Then again, people in general are terrible drivers in perfect weather conditions.

Yeah I'd like to get home at a reasonable time but obviously safely.

Indeed. My Aunt & Uncle were suppose to leave from South Bend, IN to come to Rochester today, but decided to wait until tomorrow because all of I-90 was going to be a disaster today for the most part.

Holy hell, we've past at least 20 wrecks! Are people still drunk from Christmas? The roads are fine!

If you had the weather here I'm guessing you'd see a lot more wrecks.

We're going to get it tonight. Should start rolling in around dinner time, and get real nasty as the night goes on.

About 4 hours depending on traffic. Traffic on maps is a mix of yellow and red.

Yikes ! Hopefully things improve. Going to be spending a lot of time digging out from the 11-17 inches we're suppose to get. My gf has to drive home tonight during the peak of it when she gets out of work. I'm already nervous.

11 to 17 inches? We get nervous if we get 11 to 17 snowflakes!

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using SwiftKey Flow

We have the snow removal crews up here to keep up with the snowfall, but the strong winds blowing it right back onto the roads is what makes it so difficult. It doesn't help that once the storm finishes, the lake is suppose to flare up and produce more lake effect the rest of the week.

Going to be heavy snow too. Events like this make me want to trade in my car for a Subaru, lol.

Just found you on maps, that accident that you have clicked isn't the problem, it's the one further up the road at MM 210, jackknifed trailer.
