My problem is being in a city. There's a TON of OTA channels broadcasted within 20 miles or less of me but with all the buildings I can't pick up a lot of them (incl PBS which is sent out from maybe 3 miles away). My friend who lives in way upper NW DC can get a ton more. Maybe it's our antenna though.

Good morning all - really humid at work today and feeling a bit under the weather.
I really should have stayed home today, ugh. Hope everyone else had a great weekend.

I would say it's your antenna, Dread. I know you probably can't put the big roof antennas up like I did, but there are some decent omnidirectional indoor ones.

It's an RCA 1915GM. A flat white one we bought a couple years ago from Amazon. Reviews seemed to be positive though I can't find it anymore on there.
About 40 miles. I know a couple do come in marginally, but we aren't allowed antennas that extend beyond the roofline in our neighborhood.
ROFL! Mine extends 5 feet above the roofline, that's the only way you can get a signal I'm a good 50 miles out from the stations but I get 90%+ signal quality according to my TV. Stupid neighborhood rules....I don't know if mine have any regarding antennas. I'm the only one on the street that has one, so they probably do have a rule, lol. If they want it gone, they can take it down themselves If it's gonna save me that much per month, they can deal with the unpleasant asthetics.
BB, I've been chatting with Ryan who's a WHOLE lot more knowledgeable than me.
I tried a bunch of stuff even a whole dirty flash. Still not working.
If anyone is a movie person, I just found out one of the BEST movie stores just closed: Takoma Park fixture Video Americain yields to new reality - The Washington Post
We used to live a couple blocks away from there and would go frequently before we got Netflix. It really was a wild store. All the staff were film buffs, they organized all their movies by director and they had a huge inventory of VHS vids! Sad to see them close.
Anti, which way does your house face and which direction are the stations from your house? You might even could get away with an attic installation with a signal booster.
One put by the dev. Possible problem there. Crap, just wiped everything again. TWRP allows you to move apps in right? They have an alt. Gapps I can try.
Edit: Downloading Standard Gapps. Going to mount and push them in in recovery.

ADB, eh. Let's see if I have that installed. I have a setting in TWRP to mount the SD card but it won't enable. Guess I'll just go the long way around, restore the previous nandroid, push the Gapps and start over.

I think it's more designed for external cards on other devices, but I could be mistaken.
Yeah, like I said, I'll just load her up again with Standard/signed Gapps. Not sure if that was the problem or the TiBu restore (which they explicitly said NOT to do ).
Okay, I'll try a dirty flash from 4.0 (my nandroid) and see if that's okay.

House faces away from the stations... Yeah I don't think I could do it as long as my mother-in-law lives with us though. She would freak out if we got rid of "regular" tv.

LOL! I thought you might could get away with putting one on the back of the house below the roofline. The wife isn't happy about losing satellite, but oh well. She's ok with it, just not thrilled. The extra money helps.
I've been cable free sine March or so. No antenna here though.

I kinda like the Sony Xperia Z. And if I bought a new Sony tv that they announced to replace the one I have and got the Z they would would go great together
I have my eye on the ASUS Qube to replace my Logitech Revue. That device is so underpowered and combine that it's running 3.2 HC and you get a nightmare in futility.
Just out of curiosity I looked at TLCs website, shows in particular(honey boo boo is the first thing you see). I remember once upon a time that you could watch TLC and actually learn. Now? Well now it is just nothing but a bunch bull**** so called reality shows. The joy of ratings. What a shame.
So glad my money doesn't go to these worthless shows anymore.

Reminds me of the South Park episode "Quest for Ratings" (or something to that effect). Also, just like how Music Television use to actually play music. We all know how good their content is now....

The episode about honey boo boo? One of their best episodes and one of my favorite shows. I go to south park studios dot com frequently and watch episodes. I love how they make every episode available for free. Actually, every episode except for 2 of them.

Love that show
Indeed, the honey boo boo episode was good, as was the jersey shore episode. Quest for ratings because instead of doing the news, they show completely unrelated material and sell their souls to increase ratings, much like the learning channel or music television. I love south park for its satire.

Hi folks, been a, um, uh, unquestionably a bad few weeks for me. A bad modem kept me off here for a few weeks, my N7 has a shattered screen (don't ask), and, well, I haven't spent near the amount of time I'd like lately. I missed wishing all of you Merry Christmas, happy holidays, Happy New Year, etc. I hope you all accept my late well wishes.
Asus announced its 18.5" All in one Desktop(tablet). It runs both Windows 8 and Android. The screen has a handle on the back and you just pick it and you now have a tablet. I love it! It could replace my HP 18.5" laptop.

It's a great concept, but I think it's a little too large to be considered portable, and only having a tegra 3 instead of the new tegra 4 worries me. tegra 3 is ok on 720p devices, but having it on my 1080p infinity, it lags on a 10.1 screen because it's a little too weak. I can't imagine how it's going to be on the 18.4 inch screen of that device.

Since you came back... Ok
bummer about the N7.
Morning everyone. Well 7 years in a row for the SEC. Can we just rename the SEC championship the National Championship and be done with it?

Son is having some surgery this morning to remove a weird lump in his chest. I don't know what it is, nobody knows... maybe it's an alien. Anyway, forgive me if I'm a little scarce the next few days

The stupid cable company couldn't properly troubleshoot a dead modem. It's all better now. The N7, well, yeah, I haven't looked at it since the initial fall.
