BB, did you get much snow with this storm that passed through yesterday?
We were supposed to get a dusting, but got nothing. Funny that all the snow was south of us but it looked like your neck of the woods got something.
Nothing like what Pup got though! Hope he's able to dig out.

We got absolutely nothing by me either. We got it on Tuesday night though - ice followed by a nice coating of snow. That sure was fun to clean off the car and shovel

Morning all! Happy Saturday... Anyone working on any home improvement projects this weekend? Great restaurant visiting? Anything exciting?
We had some friends from back home come to town this week to visit, had a happy hour with them last night... Okay maybe it was several hour and drinks long... But it was fun. Going to brunch at a very desirable Texas bbq joint tomorrow... But trying to relax a bit, drink some coffee in the sun today.
Today is only the 3rd day of true sun in the 3weeks we have been here... Lol
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I am supporting BabyBlues and her walk to Save The Ta Tas!
Nope, this weekend just being afraid of all the crazies coming into town for Inauguration!
Wife is still sleeping . Not sure what we'll do today. Thinking of a movie. It's COLD outside. Had a great dinner out last night (and pricey), so not sure what our dining plans are today.

Errand running today with mom then making taco pizza for dinner*. After my daughter goes to bed I'm working on my friend's 30th birthday gift. Tomorrow is the gym and relaxing.
* ok, my food friends I have a problem....the taco pizza calls for refried beans but my grandfather has major trouble with anything in the bean family (he has only half his intestines so digesting things can be harder for him, beans especially) and my daughter doesn't like them. I'm a beginner in the kitchen and need a substitute to help hold the meat to the crust. I thought tomato sauce but was hoping for something else.
How about Lentils? They mash up really well. Not sure if it's the fiber that's causing problems, but lentils certainly wouldn't solve that.
What are the other toppings?

Crispy rice (the sushi or Spanish kind, not rice krispies)

Ryan, so glad that you're settling in to your new city and making new friends. It would be pretty lonely if you were not socializing. And just get through mid-February and the weather will definitely be more enjoyable. Can you give us a review (and pics) of the BBQ joint? I LOVE BBQ.
Well, off to knock down icicles, break up some ice dams, change light bulbs, walk the dog...

My stoneage laptop died on Thurday and I could no longer wait for Chromebooks to be in stock. I got a new laptop but Win 8 sucks. I'm thinking of dual booting Ubuntu. It is nice being able to rip open 20-30 tabs in Chrome for without getting third degree burns on my thigh for once though.

I know this was from yesterday, but today I recently put an end to my electronic's hording (mostly PC components, cables, etc). I would call that "home improvement" if you saw all that I got rid of.
As to restaurants, I have been dying to try a food truck in LA called Don Chow Tacos (Asian/Mexican Fusion) (Don Chow Tacos), but they are in LA and it's about an hour drive. So I did some "yelping" and discovered Dragon Loco (Dragon Loco Chinese Mexican Fusion - Ontario, CA). Pretty interesting. Certainly not high end, but I ordered the Carne Asada fried rice (with their signature "Nuclear" treatment) and it was pretty delicious. I will be visiting again for a burrito I think.

What sucks about Win8, Pup? I have heard that when people add the Start button back, they end up loving it after awhile...

BTW JBSourcery 4.4 is out
Other than the metro ui, I don't think it's bad. It's just not very good. What irks me is that they moved things so finding them can be a pain. For example, msconfig.exe use to have the ability of modifying which programs yours computer auto executes when it boots up. It no longer has that functionality and it is now part of the task manager. Also using the search function is a pain because now it doesn't just turn up all results, it now groups them by file, app, or other. Overall, it's just a lot of change and most of them are annoying.

Having used it for a day, it seems like the Metro skin over the Win7 skin over the XP UI. I'm slowly finding that Windows is still under there. I did boot Mint from a USb stick and that was really slick. I may set up a dual boot.

Stubbs Bbq for brunch this morning... Have found out that Brisket is the fourth breakfast meat, after sausage, bacon and ham... Excellent. The venue is top notch, 2 stages for live music. The buffet is a hard thing to accomplish well, but they did it with very good results. There were about 15 options for food on the line, including some excellent fresh fruit, plus the fresh sliced meats station... But there was not a single bad thing available. Would definitely go back. Things like sausage gravy, spinach and chipotle enchiladas, jalapeņo and cheese sausage, and of course the brisket. Although reservations are expected, there was some overflow seating available, and adult drinks were included all for about $25ea.
They played gospel music today, and with the speakers everywhere, even if you can't see the band the sound was great!

Re: Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole
And about food trucks... If you can find the Grilled Cheese Truck in orange county, CA... They serve a heck of a meal.
As for food trucks here in Austin.. They are on the list to get to. Apparently there are more than 30 registered with the city... Have yet to find them, but guessing they are closer to downtown and the college/capitol buildings.... Looking forward to it!
Was having problems with the nexus the past two days, only unlocked and rooted with no rom. I had to keep pulling the battery. I flashed JBSourcery a couple hours ago and so far so good.

Yep. I had it before but had a problem with my phone and had to flash back to stock. I've been running for a month without a rom. After having the problem the past two days I decided to flash the latest Sourcery.
I personally loved sourcery, but the battery life forced me to switch. I use my device too much and even with a tank battery, it just wasn't practical.

Battery life on the be build is fantastic. It has a custom kernel.
