(I still have a year to go though, as I will be starting my Thesis research next, but thesis credits are pass/fail, so I get automatic 100% reimbursement for those)
Wow that is awesome - congrats to you!

Morning Anti, good luck on finishing up. That's how I got my MBA was company reimbursement, though they set the bar low and only required a C for 100%. I felt like I was throwing money away by not taking advantage of it.

Bad luck for HTC. The HTC ONE seems like a good phone but they have to push it back to the end of April for the US which would put it against The S4 and cheaper S3s(still a good phone that will get S4 features).

Save the Ta-Tas!!!

Some of you may have seen some of this already but here's more info....As you know I signed up for the Avon 2 Day Walk for Breast Cancer. It's affected my family and friends and I know the same is true for some of you.
When I registered I committed to raising a minimum of $1800. Thankfully I decided to register early and I have a lot of time to train (it's 39.3 miles in total) and raise the money. I decided to turn to my forum family for support. If you decide to help (and I certainly don't expect anyone to, but fundraising means asking everyone) my signature has a link or you can go directly to my page on the Avon Walk site by following this link.

Thanks in advance for even just reading this.....I know at the very least you'll all be behind me while I walk.

Morning all... Been a really rough week and it's not done with just yet. Been lurking, when I can, and hope to be back in the saddle tomorrow.
Can say that tonight will be a night of medical learning for me and for my wife, hoping results of testing can help me, or at least explain a few things. Anyways... Enough of the Poor Me's!
Way to go BB! Meet that goal and blow it outta the water!

Good luck meeting your goal BB!

At work today for a little while. My wife just told me her maternal grandfather is in the hospital, waiting to hear what's going on. He's not in the best of health unfortunately, very feeble. Hopefully he's alright.

Getting ready for vacay next week. In fact, today (Saturday) is my last day of work. I work six day per week. Business has been very, very busy, thank the Lord. I'm grateful for that. I'm also grateful that I three one-week vacations included in my students' tuition, per year. It's a good change of pace.

I have over 60 students and more coming. In fact, I'm giving overflow to my daughter, who graduated in vocal performance, this past May.

I'll check in, though.

Be blessed all! Love all around!

Default N4 Review

Hardware: This device feels really premium in the hand. I keep taking it out of the TPU case I got for it because I feel guilty covering up something so nice. I am nervous, however, of breaking the glass since it is 95 percent glass and the back is not Gorilla Glass 2, just the front.

The sound is louder and less tinny than the GNex. I'm glad that Google and LG kept the look of the GNex up front as I like the way it looks. The blacks aren't as deep as the GNex but the colors are more true to life. Similar to the screen of the N7.

Software: Not that I need to say much here other than whether Stock, Locked, not Rooted 4.2.2 (my wife's N4) or AOKP, Unlocked and Rooted 4.2.2, this phone is a beast. The 2GB of RAM steals the show here. While unused RAM is wasted RAM in some circles, the extra gig keeps the device snappy at all times. I'm sure the S4 has something to do with that as well, but the RAM is the winner here.

Battery Life and Signal: Running on T-Mobile's HSPA/HSPA+ I get full use of my device. That is with Auto Brightness on, no WiFi, and not holding back my activities. I can make it to bedtime, which tends to be midnight, with 20 percent or so. With WiFi on that goes up to 25 percent or so. I wake up around 8 am everyday. On T-Mobile's networks the lowest speeds I see are 5/1. Gotten as high as 18/5. Speeds are consistently good and between 2GB of RAM, a quad-core processor and a pretty decent HSPA 42 or 21 signal, I have to say I don't miss Verizon's network in my home city. Well see how it fairs when we are not in a major metropolitan area. I suspect things will be different but we'll cross that potentially bitter bridge when we get there.

Other: I like knowing I have a carrier unlocked device. Sure, I signed a new contract to get the devices cheaper upfront, to have it in hand that day and to get on a plan that may go the way of the dodo, but I can pop in whatever SIM I want, when I want, for whatever reason I choose. We are on a plan in which tethering isn't part of the deal but the gentlemen who assisted our rep with a couple questions was cool. I told him I tether maybe half a gig a month and he said that would not be noticed.

1000 shared minutes with nights and weekends free. Unlimited text. Unlimited data: no throttling or hidden caps. 100 bucks a month after company discount. Saving 85/month over Verizon.

With all the stuff going on with carriers exerting more and more control over its customers and Verizon's high prices, I wanted to make the switch ASAP. I did the math and by the end of my now defunct Verizon contract, I will have broken even. So come December I really start to save money being with T-Mobile. 1000 bucks a year to be exact. And I like that.

Default Road Trip Blues

Ever wake up and not know where you are? WITHOUT the aid of alcohol?

Thatís me today. I am half way through a two-month road trip for business, family, etc. So far, I have gone Vancouver-Newark-LA-Vegas-LA-New York. And still have LA-Vancouver to complete. Stomach is still in LA, feet are in NY, brain is MIA (not Miami unfortunately). Wish I was in Austin with Ryan. Need me some BBQ. Capín Ron, HOW do you survive?

+1 Anti and Pup. And trying to eat and stay healthy is tough. Germs everywhere, so I'm popping C and ginseng. Fought off one cold pretty good so far.

Yeah, T-Mobile is good in California in general. It is at its best in places like San Jose, San Francisco, LA, and Monterey.

I have had no problems thus far. This is my second go-round with T-Mobile. Had T-Mobile about 10 years ago for a 1 year term.

Better service this time around.

Hey Ron, good to see you around. Was thinking about ya today since we were flying.

Need to look back into our VZW contract and see when it's up. I'm sooooo tempted to go to TMo. Wife is NOT happy about that decision. Trying to convince her about all the money we'd save, but it's not working so far (and she could care less about phone selection).

Woohoo, and it looks like TMo's launch of LTE may come to DC first!
T-Mobileís first 4G LTE markets and launch date leaked
Please don't make them totally jack up their prices though.

From what I read so far, I don't think it's going to be so bad price wise. I'm just hoping they don't axe that 30 dollar prepaid plan before I can activate it on Monday.

I'm just happy if we can save at least $50/month. It really adds up. I was skeptical about T-Mo a few years ago as a big player, but they seem to be ramping things up considerably. Their customer service ranking isn't the best, but how often do you actual call your carrier?

This is a leak of their upcoming pricing scheme change. I really have ever called Verizon when I've had billing issues, never with phone issues.

T-Mobile UNcarrier plans revealed?

Bah, live chatting with Samsung to get my Chromebook fixed. Damn screen has gone haywire. Thankfully it's not my primary machine so I can send it in. Hope to god it's as seamless as when my Flyer was serviced.

Felt like sharing. Here to hoping that Goog and T-Mobile decide to reactivate LTE in the N4.

Not bad...
