Special bars aren't anything like special brownies, the shape is completely different.

No, they're called Access Bars, not available in stores. 40+ patents. They actually trigger the body to burn fat for fuel during exercise, instead of the body burning carbs (which is what usually happens). I'm losing weight plus I'm not sore anymore after a workout

You aren't sore any more because you have purged your muscles of lactic acid. That is what causes muscle soreness. When you work out everyday it doesn't build up, so you don't get sore. OK, Pup's done trying to sound semi intelligent.

Actually, you are correct. The soreness comes from breaking down the muscles. Lactic acid is the by product of that. If you work out regularly you break the muscles down much less and in turn produce much less lactic acid.

Consistency is the key to a less painful workout!....

On a new topic, who the heck publishes Android Magazine??? I'd love to subscribe, but it's in Play for a whopping $46.99 a year!

Have they never learned that to make more money you cut the price and make it up in volume???

Hey everyone, been distracted the past couple days. Busy at work, etc.

Kind of annoyed, took my glasses off, to clean the lenses, and they just broke in half right at the bridge. Didn't even snap though, I was finished cleaning them, started to lift them to my eyes, and half just separated in my hands. I have an old pair but the lens coating is all
Scratched up, they are awful to look through. :P

So happy I don't have to wear glasses.
My wife snapped one of the sides off her old pair. I ended up just super gluing it in place. Work fine but you just couldn't fold em when you take em off.
Eventually she got a new pair.

That sucks Anti. I had to plop down some dough for a new pair of glasses a few months ago. I got all the special no glare coatings and such and can see much better out of them than the 10 year old pair I had! Imagine that I like the way they look and feel much better too, so I actually wear them more often...still wear my contacts almost every day though.

The lactic acid bit is spot on and while there's probably something in the lower build up idea, I thought the primary reason daily workouts hurt less is that the endorphins (natural pain killers) the exercise causes your body to produce take a little over 24 hours to clear.

That's also why the aches and pains from exercise don't normally kick in until the next day.

And why you can get addicted to exercise.

And why some people conjecture that exercise can be a treatment for depression as the endorphins trigger seratonin production in the brain and depression is thought to be due to lowered seratonin (I think this idea has been discounted but hey: it's not going to hurt to try).

Hi Fuzzflyer and welcome to Android Forums!

I saw in Introductions that you have a Nexus 7. The forum for that tablet is here:

Nexus 7 - Android Forums

You can get all the help you need for your tablet there. BTW, rooting is unlocking the device's hidden system files so that you can basically modify and customize the device any way you want.

Great to have you here

Good morning all - happy almost Friday.

Tons of meetings today so I will be really busy, but speaking of workout my arms are absolute spaghetti after yesterday's workout. I have been pushing myself so hard recently and really starting to see awesome results from the gym. I feel better, I stand up straighter and overall just in a better mood.

Well...I'm afraid my McDonald's ban has been renewed. I didn't eat there for years (literally...probably close to 5 years) after seeing Supersize Me. Then I let my guard down and ate there once and decided to lift the ban. This article has probably just ruined McD's again for me:

Pretty much everything you eat has preservatives.

The best thing anyone could do is grow your own fruits and vegetables and hunt for your own meat.

Morning all! I'm already up and on the Mass Pike - waving at my Massachusetts friends. The navigation we have says we are about 90 minutes from our destination. Then about 5 hours of set up at the convention. But it should be fairly easy.
Hope everyone is having a good morning!

That's certainly true of most processed foods.

It's not generally true of fresh (which are not preserved), frozen and tinned (both of which are different preservation methods) foods.

One of the biggest issues with fast foods are transfats, however these are also in all sorts of other processed foods including things you might not expect like cookies and cakes. Basically, if you see Palm Oil (or derivates) in the ingredients, leave it on the supermarket shelf.

Ditto! You might want to write with a sharpie in a few locations, just to be sure they get the right thing! I.e. "This is not an amputation!" on all extremities.

Default 2 issues

Can the smarter folks here lend a little advice on 2 issues?

I'm still trying to figure out why the phone volume reverts to zero, after about 8PM. I think it has something to do with Link Volume, and link mute states, but I don't really know what that means. Can somebody explain or point me in the right direction on that.

Secondly, regarding battery issue 4.2.2, is the bluetooth a lot higher than it should be, see attached. I have bluetooth in my gps, through the car, so it's "always on" if Im driving and I did a lot of that today.

Congrats on the 25% pay raise. It's been a looooonnnnnggggg time since I heard of a raise like that.

Default quiet hours

yes, I do from 9 pm to 7 am.

I'm getting the "silent phone" starting about 8 pm at night, and the clock is correct on the phone, it's not off by an hour.

Can you explain what those two settings do?

Default Blocking Mode?

Hmmm

It doesn't jump out at me.

Sounds like a defensive shield from Star Trek!

Still searching. Thanks Kaat

All went OK. They do have to do a mostly unrelated biopsy though. :/
