Our entire country has public cable tv, nothing ota.
We do not have any parental lock. No idea what you mean.
You can lock your tv with a code or keep the rc in a parental pocket?

In the US, cable companies have set top boxes that you plug the cable into and then transmit the video to your tv over HDMI or some other set of A/V cables. The set top box is programmable like a satellite box with a guide and parental controls. You can tell the box to not allow viewing of certain channels or any show above a rating you specify without a password.

Ah! Like on our decoder (all cable channels digitally encoded here)
Sowwy, never paid any real attention to that, no kiddies.

Yeah, that's what the set top box does here. It's a decoder, but they add the extra features for parental controls and such

Morning! I get to go be a witness for the town prosecutor today for an arrest made after I called the police last august. Long story short - creepy man outside the nail salon just staring in. Was there long enough to make us think he was up to no good. Called the police. Turns out he was drunk! So it should be a quick court hearing and I can get to work hopefully by noon.

Nope, not weird at all. I'm still at the courthouse, waiting to be called in. The two arresting officers and myself were sequestered.

And, hey, I saw an ad for the One while watching something on Hulu!
I don't know, it's a pretty sad state of affairs. I feel like ever since the EVO days, they just can't roll out something with the pomp it needs regardless of how good the product is.

Got to play with the One last weekend. Crispy screen, blown away by the sounds and liked the aluminium touch.

Anyone think there is a chance of new hardware being announced during Verizon's CTIA event at 2:15pm today?

And Apple is at it again. They say Google Now violates Siri patents.

Only rumor right now is a Verizon HTC One. But, perhaps a Nexus 4?
Pretty doubtful either way.

Well I hope it's not a phone, I don't need for anything to tempt me bringing the replacement DNA I got back.

So my wife's grandfather's funeral was today. Very nice service. It was a huge attendance, I didn't realize how well known he was in town. There was a line for three hours for visitation last night too. Had a flag ceremony as a well, because of his service in WWII. I've been pretty scarce around here because my wife had been spending as much time as possible with him, so I had kiddie duty for the past two weeks as soon as I got home.

I can't believe they needed a huge event for that. Wouldn't a press release do the job? How many extra people do you think they'll gain because of the event...

Didn't they do this recently at another event? Was it MWC?

I don't know about yall, but seems to me this would insult people more than bring them in... Commercializing someone's ethnicity to try to enhance the companies profits?

Not yet. The bootloader is unlockable and there is root. If you didn't know? My friend sitting next to me got it before work and he's messing around with right now on our break.

If it's under $700 I'll be surprised.

Yeahh, if I ever get the HTC One, I'm definitely going to need to do whatever it takes to get this "feature" off the phone.

Hi there folks!

I'm going to be a little scarce the next few days, my folks are coming in from out of town for our son's 21st birthday ( no, we are not getting him drunk ).

But I have a question for anyone here with Google TV: I can get a Logitech Revue for about $70 shipped. Considering that Android 4.2.2 is coming for it, is that a pretty good deal? Is it worth it?

Thanks and have a great weekend!

EDIT:

May 24th, 6:41 AM: Good Grief! Nine hours later and I'm the only one here?? What is this, Memorial Day weekend or something?

Unfortunately, 4.2.2 isn't coming to the revue. Google announced that it wasn't coming to any Gen1 Google TV systems. I have a revue and I can't wait to upgrade it. The hardware is so old (like 3 years) and it freezes and needs to be rebooted more than I can stand.

Anyone else here have an ios product they've tried installing Hangouts on? Two co-workers have tried and get a compatibility error every time they try to install. One successfully installed Google+ app and it has Hangouts built-in but he hasn't tried installing Hangouts since he got it working through Google+. I installed it on my wife's iPad fine, but it already had Google+ on it.

It's a nice, cool, partly cloudy 65 degrees here

Remember the rumor about multiple Nexus devices? Galaxy S4 GE. HTC One GE.

Might not be called Nexus, but close enough.
