From what I'm reading, MAP is not natively supported in AOSP. However it appears that the CM team had it working in CM10.0. However when Google updated Android to 4.2.x and changed the Bluetooth stack all around, it broke what they had working. They've been working on it, https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-41, but still don't have it quite working. So it seems that if you want it, you can downgrade to CM10.0 and then be able to use it.

That's what I had read too, but didn't know if anyone knew of something obscure in a different ROM that might have it working. Oh well. I just have a few more months of my phone then I'll upgrade. As much as I love having a Nexus, it's probably my last stock Android phone. Google doesn't add much support of things like this (BLE is another example) in AOSP. HTC and Samsung put a little work into it and get it going.

It might be an easier fix later down the road if they ever correct the mess they created in 4.2.x with Bluetooth. They broke so many Bluetooth related things that were native like Bluetooth streaming, Bluetooth controllers, etc that I hope gets fixed in 4.3.x

I'm giving up on JDX ROM. Every time I load it I regret it really quickly. You would think that without all the mods it should be snappier, smoother, and have better battery life...but no. Phone constantly locks up, UI crashes, sluggish performance, sometimes just plain unresponsive for several minutes even when trying to unlock.

Any suggestions? If not I'll go back to Sourcery tonight probably.

Mine will become just plain unresponsive for minutes at a time on JDX.

I am on and off sluggish on Sourcery.

Part of me wants to go back to a stock ROM and load that framework that allows me to practically "build" my own ROM by installing custom components.

We'll see - just don't have as much time as I used to for crack flashing.

Dear lord! I just escaped the huge storm coming into the District. Just stepped out for a couple block walk and could see the rain approaching. Knew to run home. Only slightly soaked.

We've had quite a bit of rain here over the last couple of days. It rains lightly all day Monday, all day Tuesday, paused a bit for the main part of the day Wednesday but started up again after midnight and has been raining ever since.

Happy Birthday gEEK! Enjoy it man - cherish every day, doesn't matter if first year of your 20s or last year.

And here I felt "old-ish" turning a quarter century this year.

Yeah, 25 was kind of a "Hey, you're getting old" moment for me too because at that point you're now closer to 30 than 20.

Well, happy early birthday then! I figure at that point, I'll have stopped counting birthdays. I plan to stop next year.

EDIT: Well, that's neat. The Google Doodle on my computer is cake with candles. When I mouse over it, it tells me Happy Birthday. Nicely done Google.

Most epic PowerPoint presentation. Ever. Pitcher approached the coach at the beginning of the year with this. End result, team made it to Omaha.

Happy birthday gEEk.! I am also 29, and I'm sure my wife will do everything she can to make me feel old. Dangerous though, because she hits the mark 4 months after me

I could easily switch to the S4 with no worries. I've spent some time in the S4 forum. I already know how I'm rooting and at least one ROM that I'll try.

I was a firm believer that Verizon would get another Nexus device. Apparently they aren't getting any Google Edition phones so I guess it is a safe bet on the Nexus 5 too. Maybe things will be different when Volte takes over? And the Moto X? Motorola says it exists. They vaguely talk about. It is coming out on multiple carriers, that doesn't mean Verizon. For me, if they say it is coming, give me some concrete info then. You want me to get your phone? Then tell me something definite to make me wait and not give my money to another company.

I would love to leave Verizon, but I would have to pay an ETF for my Mom's phone and mine and then get new phones for both of us. Plus, my sister is on my plan and I've been paying for hers also. She is supposed to get on to her own. I won't bug her about it since she did let me stay in her old house for free even after she moved out until it sold.

From EvLeaks: Motorola moto x: 1.7GHz dual-core MSM8960 Pro, 720p, 2GB/16GB, 10MP/2MP, Android 4.2.2

I personally think I have no reason to wait for this phone if Ev is right.

What is an MSM8960 processor? Is that a Snapdragon variant?

It's the part number better known as the Snapdragon S4.

In this case, the S4 Pro that features a better gpu than the S4.

Did I recall correctly that's the same variant in the rumored new Nexus 7?

You did but they're confused on the blogosphere.

The new one is rumored to get the APQ-8064.

APQ=application processor, MSM=includes modem on the chip.

The APQ-8064 is the quad S4, using the same gpu as the S4 Pro but missing some throughput for each CPU core compared to the Pro.

Given that it's a quad, it's just something that Qualcomm did to not call it one of the Pro models and the distinction isn't important.

I just hate sloppy reporting, the Qualcomm spec sheets are easy to come by and that's what I'm going by.

Sounds good. Is it comparable to the one in your LTEVO?
Tegra 3 gets the job done for my N7 and Prime but it can slow down in general processes. I'm not a gamer so those benefits of it are lost on me.

The LTEvo has a dual core S4 at 1.5 GHz.
Both the S4 Pro and APQ-8064 are better.
