Did anyone really think this would truly benefit us financially?? These are companies that really only care about their profit.

Fo sho!
I'm at the point where I'm content with buying an outdated but (for me) completely fine phone and keeping my Unlimited data. Once that's gone, which should be any day now, I think we'll be leaving Verizon.

Most the details of Verizon's plan is still a mystery, though I imagine they'll be pretty much the same. It is a duopoly after all.

So Verizon's plan only works for one user. The unlimited data customer. For everyone else its a huge ripoff.

And I'm sure they're desperately looking for new and diabolical ways to end unlimited, even for those of us who are following the rules to the letter...

ESPECIALLY for us rare folk who got in on the $9.95/mo unlimited

I may give up unlimited come December. I have a couple options available to me. Keep my unlimited and pay full retail for a phone. Give up my plan and go under my parent's plan which would be cheaper by almost 1/2. I have the offer of going on a good friend's AT&T plan as well. So many choices.

New car battery - $116
Pads to keep corrosion away - $2
Lube to keep the terminals from getting corroded - $2
Can of Fix-a-Flat - $9

Morning folks!
T minus 3 more days of work until vacation.
We settled on going to Ink for our special night out in LA (where we're headed). It's Michael Voltaggio's restaurant, winner of Top Chef (forget what season). We've been to his brother's (and fellow contestant) restaurant here in DC. Can't wait, the menu looks ridiculous.

Had a guy in the auto battery manufacturing business tell me a few years ago that there are only 2-3 manufactrers of car batteries and they are essentially all the same. They just have a different sticker on them and maybe a little different warranty backing them. So whether you pay $100 or $200, you're most likely getting the same battery (as long as it's the same size). If something is wrong with it that a warranty would take care of, it'll fail within a year anyway. Which is exactly what happened with my truck battery last week. Failed in 8 months and was covered by the 1 year warranty in full.

Most I've ever paid for a battery was $175 and it was for our tractor a few weeks ago. Twice the size of my F150 battery.

Good morning folks!

Must be a NJ tax thing, BB. A Duralast Gold battery at AutoZone here w/8 year warranty is about $125 with the old one turned in. And it's made by the same company, to the same standards, as a DieHard. Oh BTW keep your oil changed too!

I will cling to unlimited until they throw me off of it. I just blow through too much data, especially streaming Google Play all day.

And Copacetic, I am on the latest Sourceress edition of JBS (5.5) and I use the stock kernel. I just haven't bothered flashing Lean to it yet

Have a great hump day - I'll be picking some whiteberries (albino blackberries, really) today!

Yeah, the cost was with bringing in my old battery and the guy told me I have 3 years to beat the crap out of it for the warranty. I laughed and said if my car lasts 3 years I'll be shocked. And we won't talk about the oil changed. I do fall into the stereotypical female and car maintenance category.

PINK: Virginia Ave, odds 1 in 200 million, wins $10,000
ORANGE: Tennessee Ave, odds 1 in 602 million, wins Super Bowl tickets.

Chief, it was a brief "vacation".
Hoping our actual vacation next week is at least as good, but hopefully better.

Thanks Chief, I was on 5.4 and the stock kernel and was having a lot of lag and freezes. We had another soaker of a rain day here (I am truly sick of the rain ) so I clean flashed again and loaded only from the play store and flashed fancy kernel. Am just now all set up, so we shall see if this does better. Any significant changes in the Sorceress? Do I need to flash the security update?

5.5 is good, I prefer it over the previous ones. And yes: that security fix patches that exploit that makes 99% of Android devices vulnerable to hijacking. Google put it out and Team Sourcery got right on it. Just MAKE A NANDROID, wipe Dalvik and flash the security fix

EDIT: THIS should be interesting to watch...

It's thirsty Thursday! Drink some water

Looks like Verizon is going to rip us off just like AT&T.

It won't be long now until the developers grab this!

Flash the Android 4.3 update to your Nexus 4

Come on 4.3 and then 5 in rapid succession!

So tempting to call off today. Working in this heat is unbearable. Ugh. Today is Employee appreciation/Family Day and they gave us baseball tickets the Pittsburgh Pirate affiliate here in town called the Altoona Curve. For those of us on second shift we are told we can call off and it won't held against us(we are treated like high school kids) but you won't get paid unless you use a vacation day. I already gave mine away to girl I know that has two kids. I know they like to go to the Curve games so they'll really enjoy it. But like I said, because of the heat it is tempting to call off.
