I can't imagine working somewhere that isn't air conditioned in this heat.

Hmm didn't you say there are rumors of layoffs? It's not a trap is it?

Yep. Then again there are rumors every summer because car loads go way down, mainly because of coal, but the company stock is still doing well. However, the big wigs were doing a tour last week(not uncommon) and some are coming back on Monday to do an audit. The kind of audit wasn't mentioned. It could just be inventory? Or maybe it is 'lets see how many people we need in each department'?

Upon walking in the door it is like hitting a brick wall and every step you take is like hitting the same brick wall.

Then add to that: welding and using a torch

Yeah, it gets a little warm

Horrifying

This happens way too often for there not to be built in safety in car seats to protect against this.

Unbe-freaking-lievable!

Yesterday my son won an Audio-Technica sweepstakes and has a set of noise-cancelling headphones coming. Today I won a sweepstakes too: a 55" LED HDTV with a 3-year Squaretrade protection plan!

Looks like a good and happy weekend starting for us!

Chief, that's fantastic news (unless the calls came from a number in the Caymans)

Poor McCooks. Gotta have nice, air-conditioned working conditions in a KITCHEN - wasn't that in the job description or an OSHA regulation or something?

What a bunch of wusses. Try working outside in Bahrain in August when the heat index is 135 degrees, every day, for 5 weeks straight. They'd melt and quit in the first 25 minutes. After that I vowed never to complain that it's too hot... and I never have.

Saw this on XDA...
Quote:
I'm going to throw in a Verizon Galaxy Nexus (completely working and clean ESN) with the genuine (rare limited production) Verizon Galaxy Nexus 3-pin pogo dock (not my review) (Part Number EDD-D1F8BEBSTD), both in perfect condition. This dock is not the GSM version (Part Number EDD-D1F2BEGSTD) modified to fit the Verizon (like many have done), but the official Verizon variant (extremely hard to find and going on eBay over $200+ constantly whenever it pops up)
.

Is this true? Isn't that we have, if we got it on release day?

So for the first time in a long time, I saw a movie twice in the theater and Pacific Rim was maybe even better the second time! Go see it!

I was thinking of going a second time. I saw Superman 3 times. Red 2 will probably be the one I see this weekend though.

Does anyone have the Home Connect with Verizon? It looks very appealing to me at half the cost of AT&T's home phone service

I just need to know for sure that adding that home phone line won't jack with our unlimited data on the other 3 lines...

There's still a little too much bezel imo. But at least they trimmed it down a bit. I probably won't be getting the new N7. I use my TF700 a lot more anyways.

Yeah, it's going to have the same processor that the Nexus 4 has, which is probably one reason why it can be so cheap. That's probably the trend with the Nexus 7 devices, using processors that were top of the line the end of the previous year. Tegra 3 was and now the S4 Pro quadcore version.

I don't think I'd upgrade. I use my current one enough, but don't feel like its limited

Give Beanstalk ROM a whirl. It really doesn't lack any features that AOKP did on my Gnex.
Oh yeah, it has Holo too.

I'll upgrade to the new N7. Mine lags and is a little buggy.

Actually, I might have misidentified which one was which. I think that is indeed the case.

Got a pretty sweet deal on some stuff yesterday. All this for $400 at a huge consignment sale. Looks barely used at all.

The new N7 is narrower than the first but is now longer. My guess is because of the second speaker and LTE.

it looks pretty nice. I will be upgrading to the new one, and will be getting the top model too. a 32 (Or 64 if they have one) GB with LTE.

I decided to add Netflix on top of my Amazon Instant Video. Apparently I was still in their database. After 5 or so tries of trying to create an account I figured I'd try forgot password. I just changed my password and off I went. I think it has been 4 years since I last used them?
