Amazon is saying I'm going to get it on Friday, that's much sooner than Google will get them to people if that is the case.

Everyone's welcome here. But running AOSP does make for a great addition.

I do pay for a Galaxy Nexus. I just don't get to use it. Got off work way too early, was that guy at the liquor store at opening (I do start work at midnight), picked up some Great Divide Hercules Double IPA, rooted and flashed the phone, tried to get the dog and cat to participate in gladiator games for my amusement little did I know they would just turn on me.

What does Chromecast do that my Roku can't? Besides YouTube, and considering I don't have cable.

Might sound crazy but after 3 years of working on getting my credit back up I'm finally able to get a loan. My Escape loan is getting redone next week. Lower percentage (2.5) and lower payment. Still need some improvement though.

Congrats halon! Must feel good to see some evidence of your work!

So I ordered one from Amazon earlier as well, now the Google Play one won't let me cancel.

Well, if this rumor is true then some fanboy somewhere is sure to have a conniption.

Latino-Review says director-producer J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm are eying Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron for roles in Star Wars: Episode VII. "As for what role Efron would be playing, we don’t know. He could be a Solo kid. But what I was told for sure is the Gosling went in for Skywalker’s son. Yes, that’s right Luke’s kid," claims the site.
If I type any more for my response to this I will in get trouble.

It happens when you least expect it. We were doing great until a routine medical procedure went wrong, resulting in a major surgery to fix it that laid me out for months. I couldn't pay the bills, of COURSE I couldn't get any help from Social Security or food stamps even temporarily (let's not go there), and our creditors called us every day. But as promised: we eventually paid every dime we owed... with interest.

That was 10 years ago, and all that drama has just now rolled off our credit records. If someone hadn't turned us on to Financial Peace University, we would no doubt have declared bankruptcy... or worse. I cannot recommend it highly enough for the sheer knowledge and empowerment it gives you.

You have to manage your money, or the lack of it will manage you!

I second the recommendation of FPU! I don't necessarily follow every single rule but I do look at money a whole lot differently after going through it.

Good morning everyone!

Jumped the gun yesterday and ordered my Chromecast from Google Play instead of waiting for Amazon. Oh well it'll be a few more days. Not in any rush to get it, but definitely an impulse buy.

Hope everyone has been well - going to catch up on some back pages over coffee this morning.

I'm really curious to see how nicely Verizon is going to play with the new Nexus 7. If there's only LTE radios in it, then it will hypothetically be the first device to test the Block C regulations. I have a strong feeling that the reason the LTE version won't be available when the wifi versions are is because Verizon is kicking and screaming like a child due to this and thus slowing it up.

Trying to find a flashable 4.3 update for my nexus 7. Only one available I know of right now with root that's flashable from recovery and the download site was slammed last night and it's a blocked site here at work :P Guess I'll have to wait.

I looked there and Android Police. Both would require me to be at home pretty much. I'll wait till this afternoon and probably use the Android Police method. Basically creates a clean slate for 4.3.

I think I used droid life before to get the download for the Google Glass app for Android.
Used that for about an hour, and my battery went dead from a full charge. Then I uninstalled the app.

How Awesome is It That the New Nexus 7 LTE Works on Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T? – Droid Life

Quote:
According to the official tech specs for the new Nexus 7 LTE, we’re looking at connectivity through North American LTE bands 1/2/4/5/13/17. Verizon is 13 (own some 4 as well), AT&T is 4 and 17, and T-Mobile is 4.But taking that a step further, it also works on HSPA+ 850/900/1900/2100/AWS (1700/2100). In other words, if you are using your device on AT&T or T-Mobile and leave an LTE area, you’ll fall back to their HSPA+ networks and still have data. That won’t necessarily work with Verizon, since this chip doesn’t appear to support CDMA, but that’s not surprising.

Pretty cool BBQ road trip. I've been to several of them and added a few more to my list that I need to visit.

Oh LOL, well if so the Nook Simple Touch has been on clearance at Staples for $36.50 for a while I believe. Now they released a coupon that applies to "tablets" and the Nook falls under that category so take $30 off that already low clearance price and you have a ridiculous deal.

So I may have a dumb question, but I just read on Droid Life that I could toss my 4G sim in the new N7 and get data. So would my phone still work on 3G data?
