Not sure there's much kernel mods I can do for my G2. Will look into it.

Welp, I grabbed 2 Lbs. of fresh shaved steak, I'll be tossing in some chopped onion, salt, pepper, and some fresh garlic. I'll saute some mushrooms on the side as fungus is on the wrong side of the foodchain for me.

When I worked at my last job, I would help out occasionally with the register and FOH issues. Was always a "fun" time.
My technique was to be as covertly condescending while having a huge smile on my face. Pleased the customer and myself at the same time.

Good to see you around man. I got lucky with the price I paid for the Nexus 5 after trading in an iPhone 5 that I used for all of a month! Never gonna relive that. Great camera on that thing but that was about it!

Top o' the morning to you all, peeps!

Good news. Glorious news!

I am finally unshackling myself from the Verizon clutches. Making the jump to T-Mobile as soon as I sell my Verizon Note III so I can cover the early termination fee on my wife's line.

Looking at unlimited, LTE in my house and work that is about 3 times faster than Verizon, no throttling, and a Note III that has an unlocked bootloader.

Good bye, Verizon, you disgusting, borderline-criminal extortionists!

I'm done!!

I'm done!!!!!

Yep! Plus I'm saving about $50 a month.

I was thinking about it a few weeks back, but was skeptical of the signal strength. Well my friend just made the jump to T-Mobile from AT&T, and we took a drive yesterday to my house, my job, and generally all of the places we go around town. 4 to 5 bars of LTE constantly. We ran speed tests on my Verizon handset and his, and his just blew mine away.

I called Verizon to see if they'd match or throw in some perks, and of course they wouldn't budge.

I was actually hoping they wouldn't budge. Now I get unlockable bootloaders, the option to upgrade twice a year if I want, and don't have to wait 6 months for Verizon to get what everyone else already has.

Not to mention the Nexus line, if I so choose.

Ah! It's like I'm waking up from a horrible nightmare!!

While standing outside yesterday waiting to meet up with someone for the Steeler game I found a ticket on the ground. An expensive ticket, $260.

Just sold my Verizon Note 3!

Verizon, you are now in my rear-view mirror, you miserable pig.

Why hello, T-Mobile! You are just as hot in person as you are in the commercials!

While T-Mobile may not near Verizon in nationwide coverage, they have made a lot of improvements over the last 2-3 years. It won't work for everyone, but I feel there's plenty of people on Verizon or AT&T that would be just fine on T-Mobile if given a chance.

I would have great coverage at work (1/2 mile from brand new array) but there is zero / 2g coverage at my house.

They used to have abysmal coverage in New Mexico, now they're just about at every major city with 4G.

You could probably survive with a stable 2g at home due to likely having wifi, since 2g is enough to call/text. But if it's weak or unstable, that would be quite a dilemma unless you're comfortable using wifi calling either through T-Mobile or Google voice.

Does the coverage map show decent signal in the area of your house? If so, you might get them to send you a signal booster at no charge. . . .

My Best Buy finally received a 4K tv. It was so hard walking out of the store without it. 55" Samsung on sale for $3500. I've been looking at a 65" Sony for 2grand more.

Does it really look that good? I was always under the assumption that the higher in resolution the screen is, the worse the content looks if it's not up to par. For example, a 480p tv show on my 1080p Note 3 looks like garbage.

Won't 1080p content look like garbage on a 4k screen?

A lot of that depends on the scaler, they're not all the same.

Granted the tv has a constant loop of 4K media playing, it sells itself.

Your question was my big question. They just got it 4 days ago and of course Samsung sent their rep there. The rep told the employees that they have to make sure they mention it will upscale 1080p since there isn't much 4K media at the moment.

Okay. How about a demo of that?

Even the employee I was talking to asked the Rep that. The Rep said no.

The employee is pushing for a hidden bluray player so they can quickly demo that.

It's crazy how transparent nav and notification bar makes your screen look HUGE.

Hey Stigy, are you using a rom or does Nova now have that feature?

Neither - using the G2 Xposed Module over at XDA. Makes a ROM totally unnecessary for now until I find a 4.4 ROM I want to flash.

Yeah, since running Nova, I miss the transparent nav bar which I'm enjoying on my Gnex.
Will look into Xposed. Haven't used it; any tips or tricks?

Edit: Ah, looks pretty straight forward. Going to try it.

Apparently Nova has a beta version out that incorporates some 4.4 features including the transparent nav bar.

Finally flashed recovery on my G2. I used Flashify and it seriously only took me one minute.

See the LG G Flex self heal...

WOO HOO!

With merely three weeks left on our 3-year SquareTrade warranty, they have determined that our POS ViewSonic gTablet is beyond economical repair! And they're refunding the entire (substantial) purchase price!

Darling Bride will be thrilled: we'll use the money for her full retail Moto X, fix the crack in her S3's screen and sell it. Sound like a plan? Sounds like a plan to me

Have a great short week everyone!
