Even the presidential vote is pretty pointless. I think I voted for the Lib. candidate last go around. I looked long and hard around the country and couldn't even find a county that got more % for Obama than DC did (it was ~90% IRRC). And Norton, our shadow rep., won't be defeated. So, what's left is voting for Mayor, that's about all we got.

Another set top box. It is nice and everything. Cheap. And will have mediocre games.

TV manufactures should stop with all the smart TVs. I would think most people use their set top box or their game system? I use my PS4. I purchased my TV just before smart TVs.

Rumor of Moto360 costing $149.99 for the first 30 days. My days of not wearing a watch might be over if that happens. That watch is sexy and is what a smart watch should be, in my opinion.

The more time goes on, the more I find that I want less smart stuff. Simply make things that work well with the smart stuff I already have. Like the Chromecast. Seriously, it is $35 retail, what would it cost to integrate it into a TV?

That must have been crazy. The Steelers had a down year and it was the first playoffs in 20 some odd years for the Pirates. It's a beautiful park on TV, I'm glad to see a team that deserves it.

We like going to see Nats' games when we can. Not a fan, but it's a nice stadium and a quick Metro ride there (plus you can usually get $4 tickets on game day ).

Heading to the doc again tomorrow. Seems like things are getting better, but worse at the same time.

I heard the iPhone 6 will have a stunning 480p 4" screen instead of the usual 3.5" VGA screen! It'll be a technological revolution!

I remember the days when iFruit was innovating and Android was new and catching up. My, how the tables have turned! Now Android is innovating and the iFruit seems to be in full defense. They now seem better at litigation than innovation.

As popular as iFruit is, you would think that the two systems could get along with their very similar but very different ecosystems and demographic markets. But they can't. Like young siblings, they love to hate each other and hate to love each other. But without the other in stark contrast, neither would be half what they are.

Let's just merge with iphoneforums.com and have a BIG GROUP HUG!

iTunes is coming to Android.

That's a big money maker for Apple and all the merging I want to see.

The Android project was started before the iPhone.

And it still manages to avoid doing wrong most of what iOS has always gotten wrong.

At each iPhone release since the iPhone 4, my existing Android has done more and had their "new" features already.

The only thing that Android has taken from the iPhone is market share.

In my opinion.

My iSheep friend was needling me about the new 5.5" iPhone phablet coming this September, and told me that now it would be perfect (this was after judging my Note 3 "too big, you idiot!" when I compared it with his iPhone 5s).

Now the iPhablet has been delayed. Surprise surprise.

I never thought I'd see the day that 14nm chip architecture could be achieved. Intel just introduced its Broadwell and Braswell chipsets, based on a 14nm architecture. And a 64-bit Android kernel.

To try to put this in perspective, the high-k dielectric layer on a 22nm chip is only about 6 atoms thick! And now they're down to 14nm, with Intel trying to push it down to 11nm! After that, I really think they'll be up against a wall. They will have no choice but to progress into 3D chip stacking or quantum computing to advance.

Not necessarily.

If only we knew someone who's done that for a living, for a really long time with all the major chip producers as customers, we could ask for details.

But it would probably take me 2 hours of studying and a dozes readings of the post to grasp the most basic understanding of what was said.

m8 or s5. I don't know which to get. They are so similar. I know I'd be happy with both, if I upgrade. Can someone tell me what to do? Seriously. They offered me to keep my 20 dollar a month data discount per line. They offered me loyalty maxx (6gb) and they offered me verizon edge. This means I get four phones for the price of two, I pay extra 50 per month and I can upgrade in a year. Not bad. So, i'm soliciting options, impressions. I'm going to give the choice to my family which they want, but for me, I'm not sure. Should I do this? Should I wait to see the iPhone 6 phablet? Should I wait for the note 4? I'm all confused and flustered. What's a mother to do?

5nm process. Just surreal.

Steven, I'm funding up for the Note 4. I just can't believe that the Note 4 won't be spectacular, or that it will be a mere incremental update to the Note 3. It's gonna be amazing. But that means waiting until October for it, whereas the S5 is available sooner. But it's getting lousy reviews, from what I've read.

What more can they do with a phone? Have we reached out peek for innovation?

Steven: I've read in places that the S5 is a rather un-spectacular, incremental update phone. But you want reviews, they're out there. But then in other places, people are crowing about it. Maybe I'm just biased toward the Note line.

Here's one.

I suppose it depends on perspective: if you have a Galaxy S3 or Galaxy Nexus, then the S5 will probably be quite the upgrade for you. Coming from a Note 3, though, it would likely be a step backward in many respects.

Captain America 2 is all kinds of goodness! If it wasn't a superhero movie it would have been a great action movie. So good.

We saw Raid 2 last night and boy was it crazy good. If you like blood and martial arts you'll love it. Only thing is, you have to see the first one first as this takes place immediately after the first so there's a lot of back story.
It's not a mainstream movie so it may be hard to find in a theater near you (we went to our small indie theater in DC to see it).

Saw captain america. It was dense. I missed some dialogue. I guess it was also a late showing and I was tired. I'll have to see it again. I liked it. HAIL HYDRA!!

RIP John Pinette. One of the funniest men on earth. His self-deprecating humor made him an absolute charm and a joy to watch. And his act was, for the most part, relatively clean and family-friendly. He was only 50 years old.

I found it very boring, especially after the fallen angels were gone.

To make an over 2hr movie about THAT they had to go off course or that movie would have been way worse than it was.

I laughed too, but I'm not religious or even believe.

It looks like a remake of a movie already made before.

Ugh. Those rock things were the WORST part of the movie. Ugh, Lord of the Rings called, they want their Ents back.

G2 has been fantastic for me. ROM'd so it's pretty much stock with the LG camera app (since AOSP camera is garbage). Screen size is perfect, size is nice. Waiting for "knock lock" or whatever it's called to be ported from the the G Pro 2 (it may already be, I'm behind). Camera, speed, battery life. They're all great. Don't see myself moving on anytime soon.

Steven, did you give the Moto X a try. My impression is it is what the GNex could have been if it was done right. I bought a Developer Edition and couldn't be happier. I hear the next generation is on the way.

Forgot you got one, Pup! My wife loves hers, mostly just cause it's a wood back with her name one it.
Will have to say, much like my Moto G I use to play music with, it's the best feeling phone in the hand I've ever had.

I went back and forth on the Wood Back / Developer Edition. I wasn't able to find a clear case that satisfy my expectations of protection while allowing the grain to be visible. So, $25 less I got the DE with an unlockable bootloader. Plus, seeing as the X had Kit Kat OTA before the N4 let me know I'd be able to get some serious updates. And at $450 full price (see preserved unlimited data) it was a no brainer.

Full day of regular use, not even bump charges in my drive to and from work and I have 80% left when I go to bed. Everything is liquid smooth. No annoying gimmicks, true, simple enhancements to pure Android. I thought I would hate the on screen notifications and miss the notification LED, but it's been just the opposite.

I won't even touch on radios & reception. Like I said, it's everything the Galaxy Nexus could have been if it was done right.

Bread: It's kinda funny... To me LG used to signify poor workmanship. With the LG G2, all that changed. It was arguably the best phone of 2013. Based on that, battery life and build, etc., and based the proposed specs, which look to blow everything else out of the water, it seem like it will be the best phone of 2014. Maybe this time, its sales will beat out the other inferior but well advertised phones.

PUP: Funny you mention Moto. Whereas I never have used the X, I did have the Motorola Droid X. Whereas it got long in the tooth, Samsung call quality was awful compared to the DX. Since I do business on my cell, I NEEEEED call quality. Moto is in the running because of their proprietary call quality (I read an article as to why they are the best, etc.).

I do hate efuse, though.

It's probably quite difficult to make a two hour movie from a short story in a book, not without additional drama, plot and suspense. Movie screenplays often differ from the original stories they're based on. Disney's Frozen is completely different to the Hans Christian Anderson story it comes from, The Snow Queen. One thing, movies are nearly always made for commercial interest, to get good ratings and awards, and to make $$$ for Hollywood, the Bible on the other hand wasn't.

How far does it differ from the biblical version? I've read the IMDB plot and synopsis for Noah, but haven't read Genesis for a long time, not since school, and I've not seen the movie yet. Might be banned in China anyway.

Steven, I think LG just suffers because, even though like Samsung they make EVERYTHING, they're just not known for smart phones. Samsung certainly is, and that's why LG doesn't get any credit outside of "tech sites". But yeah, since they dropped the Optimus name, their phones have gotten much better. I played with a G Flex for a few minutes at Best Buy the other day and have to say, that's one cool phone.

I see quite a lot of LG. It's Motorola I've never seen much of, although that might well change that they're now a subsidiary of Lenovo.

Yeah, I think until the Moto G was released, it was primarily an American company and sold only to the US. Lenovo is looking to change that of course (I just hope it doesn't sacrifice on quality).
