Had some issues getting my data back up on GummyNex 0.3.0, but now its up and running and damn this thing is snappy.
Let's see how it holds up for now. Sitting at 1200MHz max CPU and 350MHz min CPU in the Performance Menu -- not 100% sure how to configure setCPU with voltages correctly.

In the upper right corner of the App Drawer are three dots -- those are Nova Launcher settings.

I side-loaded as well. If you're in nova then open the app drawer and in the top right corner there will be the 3 dot menu button. When you press that it will say Market, Manage Apps and Nova Settings.

Check out my post in the VZ root section here. It'll give you something to go off of with my initial settings. Each phone is different so play around with it.
Just use "APPLY" for the voltage tweaks. Don't "SET ON BOOT" till you know you're stable.

Perfect, thanks -- set mine and will report back tomorrow after some use tonight. Just wondering where you got these from, XDA or guessed on your own after some trial/error?
Did anyone else grab a warranty with the 35% off sale @ SquareTrade? Sweet deal. I'm contemplating getting rid of my Assurion warranty now... though they've been great to me, replacing "lost" phones for $50 a whack without question.

I could see the many open sourced and non proprietary nature of Android and many of the apps causing confusion in this regard as any joe schmo can go and offer such apps as a dev through a place like getjar. I have never really heard specific or widely publicized claims of getjar promoting piracy in the past though is my real question to your claim. Just seems unfair to blanket label a legitimate small time appstore as piracy when as far as I know the only large claim against them was apples issue with them calling themselves and appstore. This doesn't mean there haven't been smaller dev fighting over such things, but I have seen pay launchers ALL OVER the official google app store that are just amateur hacks of freely available tweaked version of stock launchers on the official market for a long time in the earlier days of launch customizing. If there is a link I would like to see it. I am against piracy, but if a place like getjar has a savvy way to offer many paid apps for free and most devs are going to them as seems to be the case on the surface I find it unfair to label them as piracy site. Part of the reason I use android is because it's not a 100% walled garden like Apple where there is only one supported retail distribution option for devs. This should include less well known and large retailers really also if the dev chooses.
I quote policy, I don't set it. Your thoughtful rebuttal is under full review - if we're wrong, we'll change policy and apologize for the confusion. If we're right, we'll provide substantiation.
Appreciate your reply and tenacity in this matter!

I'm getting a quote for $124. Is that what you got?
I know the feeling. I have to be out and about to even consider 4g as an option. Its nonexistent at home and work
Are you in a 4g area? We've had it for a while in Fort Myers but it's never been solid. Funny thing is that I used to actually get some 4g coverage at home before the official launch in October.
What really sucks is that I have a VZW tower within site of my office, but I'm told that particular tower doesn't have LTE. I find that strange as it's right next to FGCU (university) and a minor league hockey arena.

I'm surrounded by 4g but it doesn't quite reach me at home. If I go to dinner in Glen Rock I have it. Literally less than a mile away. Oh well. It's like a treasure hunt that I win when I find an area that has it.
@CaptainRon: Just got in the office, I'm zipping that tweaked Nova Launcher and sending to you in a few min. Keep in mind though, that the app button is invisible, but in the same default place. If you'd like to change it, just long press on it and edit the icon. If you're partial to the stock ICS app button, you'll have to download the ADW ICS theme pack from the market (its free and compatible with Nova).
Thanks Han. I'm looking forward to trying it. I'll also flash Milestone and Francos while I'm at it - after I get some sleep.
Sorry you couldn't join me in Bangkok BB. It's not New Orleans, but although it was a "chilly" 79 degrees when I landed at 11:30 pm I'm sure the temperature will be bearable out by the pool tomorrow afternoon.
Another GNex sunset picture from Tokyo. This time on the ramp. Not great photo quality, but not bad considering the low light and no tripod.

Purty! I am thinking not nice things about the fact that you can be outside by a pool tomorrow.
LOL. To be honest, that is the approved method of dealing with an unsafe landing gear indication. His announcement could have been a tiny bit more soothing though.
It can be difficult explaining aircraft malfunctions to passengers. We don't want to lie, but you also don't want people to panic unnecessarily (It's okay to panic when it IS necessary!) On my flight to Tokyo a couple days ago I had a minor problem with the left engine during startup and had to return to the gate to have the mechanics repair it. It was truly a "minor" issue and we were on our way within 30 minutes, but when you say "engine problem" to passengers some of them start to hyperventilate and want to get off the plane.

I wondered how much truth there was in that. I look at flying as an adventure. I hope it all goes ok and I know there is always the chance of hiccups but the chances of major malfunction aren't big enough to make it a big deal. Now if my equilibrium would cooperate with me I'd be a happy camper.
I gotta say I agree with the camera bit. It's very hard to take a picture without any blurriness whatsoever. Yeah, there will be some "user error", but why they didn't put in a stabilizing effect is beyond me.

Camera (picture quality): If there was one thing that I think we can all agree on, it’s the fact that Google and Samsung skimped on the camera in this phone. It is just not as good as the competition at taking still shots. Forget the fact that it’s only 5MP and not the industry standard of 8MP for high end phones, the camera in this phone should be better than it is. Low or bright lit areas, the shooter here is simply not good enough when you compare it to the HTC Rezound or even the RAZR for that matter. It may not be as bad as the Bionic’s camera, but man is it pushing it. You definitely can’t expect this phone to “wow” any of your friends in the recently-snapped-photo department. Samples below:

Hey, Han, I'm out in the burbs and you're closer to the city, I think, but I DO have 3G, just no 4G. You in the same situation, or still without either one?
Also, don't think I've checked in here, since the Nexus came out, but I'm glad to see it's the same feeling as the pre-release thread, complete with overbearing mods! Yay!

Yeah, I'm downtown right now and have no 3G or 4G.
Looks good, Stigy. How did you change the battery icon in your top bar? I'd love mine to display the numbers like that. Is it part of a ROM or just a small mod?

Made this for people trying to match circle widget (or any other widget's colors to ICS) based on info I found online.

Part of gummyNex 0.3.0 -- I sorta wish it was just numbers or inside the battery. I don't like the battery squashed down like that though.

Everything I find goes here first -- the people in this thread are the Nexus family. They get the good info first, then its passed around back to the Nexus forum if felt necessary.

Okay good, glad it's not just me. Not 'good' as in I'm happy the service is out, more that I was worried something was wrong with Precious.

"Yessssss.... It's okay Precious. The tricksey Verizon is having another outage, they are. We's will make sure you have teh wifis until 3G comes back."

So, all of a sudden my battery won't stop draining. Literally 1% a minute, with the recent apps all shut, wifi, gps, blue tooth off. Service is back too. Any ideas what this could be? I know we had system keep awake issues before, and it seems like I'm having some now. Thoughts on any way to stop the madness? TIA

Franco (on his kernel page) says when you first boot up the phone, open the camera first and then close it. Supposedly the sensor is staying open, which drains the battery. The Nexus S had the same problem.
I've done this, and I think it's having an effect, although I haven't really gotten around to examining the numbers yet.
ok, a couple weeks in and i think im finally ready to make the jump to flash something, anything. kernel, rom, something. anybody have a suggestion to ease into it for a noob? lol, already unlocked rooted and CWM'ed

What do you want? As close to stock as possible? A few tweaks here and there for more efficiency? A sUp3r l33t rom OC'd to the max?
ARHD 2.1.2 is a brilliant choice imo for a first time flash. It has the VZ apps.
I think a giant user of my battery is the phandroid app . Gonna run a few weeks without it and see what happens. My terrible battery days seem to correalate with the apps use.
