That's unfortunate. I don't know what the chances are of anybody recovering them from a Google or database cache, but maybe one of the admins (or our hacker comrades) can give it a try.

I almost didn't return the Rezound today. Almost. Lump me in with that crowd. I'm gonna put this Nexus through its paces to confirm I made the right decision for sure, else I'll have to beg the Rezound to forgive me for straying and take me back.
Does anyone know how to take "HD" pictures so that I can add them as my contact photos? The photos I have now are, I guess, low-res and they look like crap when you click on the contact.
Did anyone have an answer for this? I was wondering the same thing.

I did it in word, so if the mods can't recover it I will see if they can fix it for me. I just wanted to see Han's.

I didn't get mine today My NE2 isn't for another week and they won't move it up. And I tried again to get the 3G to 4G $100 off promo but to no avail. I'm gonna try the Let's Talk site and see if I can get it there for $175. The reason why I'm doing this is because I'd rather not spend $300 on it when I really don't have to.

Well, I got a little bonus with my Nexus today. What you see with my Verizon bag is a free bar of chocolate because today is the official 1st day of 4G in the area (even its actually been going for a while now). I don't get 4G where I live in the boondocks, but when I go up to town I'll have it available.

Yea I have, but I can't find anyone that will change the date. Verizon just won't budge! I bummed but it's not the end of the world - it was released (finally!) and I'll have it soon enough.
They didn't want to release the nexus in November, because they would be releasing two phones right after, both of which have lower specs, and don't have ICS.

Glad I didn't get the bionic a few months back!
i touched on this in our beloved thread earlier...

as far as the delay, it appears no one will really kno. one of the district mgrs was ringing me up since there were so many people waiting around. he seemed really shocked that they didn't release it last week. he was struggling to ring me up and appeared to be pretty apologetic about it, and as a result pretty candid too.
i thought it was interesting that he commented on the delay, saying that "whoever made the decision isn't letting us know and it couldn't have been a big issue otherwise they would have recalled stock or asked us to quarantine it in store. they simply told us, 'don't sell it'."
he was pretty convinced that they will never find out. but if they honestly felt that it was 4G related, and they had an opportunity to fix it before it was released, i'd wait too. to your point, the DM said that they usually like to space out releases to avoid bogging down the activation system. when i brought up the rezound and the RAZR releases, he was really shocked with the rezound saying that it "stole a LOT of sales".

Lower specs? Guess you haven't noticed the reports by people who've traded their Rezounds in for Nexus and now wonder if they can go back. Awesome, glad you love the new phone!

It took me an hour to get my Nexus and I paid $50 more than I wanted to because they couldn't find my last NE2. They billed it to my account and said to call customer service and have them adjust my bill $50. There is definitely a learning curve with this phone over my Incredible but I love it! Now to root it.

His first try was blank. Then it showed up. I've had to see the mega thread from a browser since 2 days ago. The app kept force closing when I was in it. All other threads seem to be ok though
His post is still blank from my PC. Han, can you repost it here, or can someone else? TIA

it's not an actual toggle like a widget or the wifi on/off switch.
Settings > More (under wireless & network) > Mobile networks > Network Mode
You can select CDMA/LTE or CDMA only. A lot of clicking for a simple switch.
I don't get 4G at work. I'm hoping to do a couple tests and perhaps get some NFC stickers/tags to do that switch automatically. At least that's cooler than paying for an app
EDIT: i tried to upload screen shot but AF is telling me that the defualt size 720x1280 is too large. i'm thinking they may want to change that with all of us crazy nexicans running wild.

ok, a few notes so far(after reading the last 4 pages to catch up):
1) for those wondering about getting or not getting the extended battery - i went with it and do not regret it($25 bucks with discounts). while i dont have hard info on how much longer you can go with it, i would say an extra 1hr to 1.5hr isnt unreasonable. im not the type who likes to carry extra batteries around in my pocket or worry about taking the back on/off several times a day to swap out the battery, so the extra battery/charger wasnt an option for me. a side effect of using the extra battery might end up being the battery cover for this phone might not hold up very well after a period of time of doing that, but that remains to be seen.
2) the only vzw app i actually like, verizon wifi auto turn-on, apparently doesnt work with ics correctly yet. when i try to launch it, it says "app only available to vzw subscribers", so they have to get that worked out.
3) LTE is blazing fast when in range. in downtown nashville today after i bought it, i got 18down and 11 up, pretty good IMO.
4)kinda bummed that after disabling google search through settings, i still cant use that screen space for anything else, i would love to put my Beautiful widgets up there and hopefully the devs will handle that soon
5)DEFINITELY need a solution for a real toggle for 4g, going through the menu is cumbersome, but once again, the devs will have that soon.
6)the wait was well worth it. the kinks will be worked out(mostly by devs i assume) soon, then this truly will be the beast i assumed it would be
Okay, guys, I'm going to attempt to unlock the bootloader and root tonight. I'm very scared. The freaking instructions are like a million steps long just to unlock.
I thought this was super easy??

I hate to be that guy, but if you're scared and find it confusing, maybe you should wait until the procedure has been more tested, simplified, and bulletproofed.
Eh what am I saying... Go Han, you're not a real man unless you root it within the first 12hrs!
anyone know why i cant get on my wifi at home.as soon as i type password the connect option goes away.if i try to connect without password it says authentication problem???? please help.......
please ignore this.apparently im a total boob.have been using wrong password,oops...
srr, this is my first smartphone and im still suffering the effects of nex-shock.
You should be OK. I was able to do it no problem after I realized it bootloops for a while before the bootloader reboots the phone. I kept freaking about it but after I just let it be for a little it stopped and all was well. Unlocked now. Going to wait to root for a week or so yet. Hope it goes well!
Saw this in the Gnex area of the site, thought it might be helpful to some folks here who would like flash on their Gnex. Props to Trophy for finding it:

My early upgrade date isn't until 12/28, but I was able to get them to push it up to today and still received my NE2. I'm not sure if it's because I'm a OneBill customer or since I told them my Incredible was damaged, but it worked.
Try using the *611, 0 (for live person), say upgrade. It actually worked for me 3 times, but that was before the Gnex was actually available.

so i know back in the mega-thread people were asking about how the razr sales were doing... well today while picking up my gnex, i ran into an old friend from high school who is now the mgr of the store i was at. we got to talking about the gnex, and i asked him how many they had and he told me 60. i then asked him if the razr launch day was anything like today, and he chuckled and said "uhhhhh, NO!". i asked him if they werent doing as well as they had hoped, and he said they received 100 on launch day and still have over half of them in stock. so clearly not a national picture, but the razr just isnt going over like vzw hoped

Hey if you folks new to Android aren't sure how to do something, ASK!
We more experienced folk have either been there and done that or we can point you in the right direction. There are also lots of threads in the Nexus forum that can help you.

I got my phone & I LOVE it! I'm new to the whole root/unlock thing. I was wanting to try it but I'm terrified. How simple/hard is it? I looked in the root section but it's all Greek to me...
Any advice?

I successfully rooted mine this afternoon... funny thing is, I didn't realize it at first because the instructions I was following were a little unclear. Thought I was stuck, rebooted, and figured I'd try again later. But then it occurred to me to check my app drawer, and there was Superuser. Success!
So rooting turns out to be fairly easy, at least using the method I used. It just seems hard.
I am too chicken to root just yet. Still scrolling through apps to see what works and what doesn't. I am curious though. Does anyone know what you are supposed to use instead of the menu button? How are you supposed to import data into your apps, save the settings for said apps, etc without the menu button?

I bootlooped mine using the boot.img file. Relocked the bootloader and unlocked and it fixed it all. I was pretty impressed I managed to buy the phone and bootloop it within a couple hours.
Still not rooted, going to wait a couple days till some of the 4.02 issues get worked out.

I choose not to root because I prefer to keep the warranty intact... especially on a phone as unproven as this one. If something goes south, I need it repaired NOW. Not after I "unroot" it and restore it to stock. Besides: since I refuse to wirelessly tether, I really have no need to root.
Rooting is as adventurous as it is beneficial: if you don't have a lump in your throat and a pulse rate of 200, youre not doing it right. Even veterans do it rather nervously.
You guys have fun!

I was terrified, too.
But if you follow these instructions TO THE FRAKKING "T", you'll be golden.
