Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole
Many of us gathered for the Pre-Release of the Galaxy Nexus and have said we don't want to lose the community feel we gained while waiting an excruciatingly long time, so this is where we can gather to catch up and chatter about whatever our hearts desire.
Simple Rules:
1. all topics are welcome as long as they do not violate any of the rules established by Android Forums
2. we are open minded and will NOT attack another person. opinions are welcome and can be debated however personal attacks will not be tolerated, at all
A friend had her U.S. last week and they took a picture of her baby that was unbelievable hi-rez. Could see all the details of the face, and resemblance to the parents. Looked like a portrait. Make sure you get one to take home. Enjoy!

I know I am not a super contributor like many of you but can I hang out too? I will sorely miss the launch thread when it closes. Please let me stay.
Sort of reminds me of those days when I was trying to tag along with my older brother and his "cool" friends. Please don't give me a wedgie and tell me to scram. Oh, the painful memories.

Great idea! I just hope this doesn't get as crazy as the Gnex thread. It was so huge it scared me, there were so many posts at once, I don't even get how that thread could stay somewhat organized.

Happy to join in! This promises to be a great sequel to an epic roller coaster ride! I look forward to all manner of polite and dignified conversation in here whilst we play with our Nexi!

I'm still deliberating whether or not to unlock the bootloader when I get my Nexus... and I think I've decided not to.
Let's face it: rooting is for tinkerers. It's very versatile and it's a LOT of fun! But it's also a lot of work. After 2 years of rooting & ROMming my Droid, I think I'm going to take a one-phone vacation from it and just be a blissful USER.
Besides: I'll likely have Nexus for a year at the most. Then I'll pass it down and use daughter's upgrade to buy a quad or whatever next year's new shiny is.
What about you?

I think I'll probably wait as well. Once I get bored I'll start over. It's really no different than my Dinc. I waited a year for that one.

:=O Im going to unlock it within 20 minutes of getting home. Heres how i see it:
1: I love TIBU and RootExplorer
2: Unlocking wipes 100% and theres no way to really back it up. I want it unlocked and then ill test it out.
also, I dont think i could last more then a few days without flashing it. Im a addicted crack flasher and I like my nexi, rolled up in nice white boxes

Will definitely be rooting. I've had my OG Droid for a year and a half and never rooted, was only really aware of the possibility as of a few months ago. Especially since the Nexus is a developer phone, I'm really looking forward to unlocking all the capabilities.
I will definitely be unlocking my phone. Although I don't plan on using a custom ROM any time soon, but since unlocking wipes the phone I might as well unlock up front.
