I've never heard of this. According to Google's web site, the address/phone number of their NY office is:

76 Ninth Avenue
4th Floor
New York, NY 10011
Phone: +1 212-565-0000
Fax: +1 212-565-0001

If that's the address/phone number (or something similar) it's probably legit. Otherwise, it's likely a scam. You could call that number and ask though. My guess is a scam, but for 1.5 million, I'd make a phone call to Google's NY office and ask. I wouldn't call the number in the email. Call Google's number.

Edit: Apparently Google has two offices in NYC. Second one is:

Chelsea Market Space
(mail cannot be received at this address)
75 Ninth Avenue
2nd and 4th Floors
New York, NY 10011
Phone: +1 212-565-0000
Fax: +1 212-565-0001

I had to check my spam mail, just to see if I got any scams today. Looks like I didn't, although I did get 10 or so emails about erectile disfunction.

Congrats! I think it is wonderful whenever anyone is a winner. Although, if you gain 1.5 million lbs you'll never find pants that fit.

Sorry, Bob. I got the same email and already claimed the prize. I've even wired them the handling fee so that they can deliver my 1.5 million lbs. If you split the fee with me, I'll forward you half.

I bet we could start a pool and find 1.5 million lbs of our own to give to the OP. What he does with it is his business I say.

Yes... yes... and yes...

Sadly... I get these like ALL the time!

Also on my Vodacom SIM Card get hit by these crazy bank detail scams like 24 / 7.

The most popular one is when they claim they are from "Royalty" which of course is a huuuuuge load of doggy poo.

These Nigerians and Conganese scam commandos are getting better and better each passing day.

They are getting so good now, that you can HARDLY tell the difference between the real ABSA Bank (First National or whatever bank) and the real thing!!

They are getting waaaaay too good for their own means.

The thing that scares me the most is that if these people are soooo damn clever to make these brilliant scams... then why don't these South Africans and other shit heads put their skills to good use instead of being shit heads????

THAT is what is wrong with our country... everyone wants everything for nothing!!!!!!

What a sad fracked up and stuffed up mess...

I work in the aircraft industry, and in business cases for design changes, lbs are worth money. If you are subtracting weight, each lbs saved is worth $500 for your case. If you are adding weight, each lb added is $1000 against your case. Since they are giving you 1.5 million pounds, you should demand 1.5 billion dollars to make up for the added weight!
