Yeah gave the landlord the 30 day notice. I have a place in Florida set up already. Still trying to convince AM to come. That's a losing battle. But all I gotta do is get some more money under my belt and get a ticket.
So AJ what do you think is a bigger disappointment :
iPhone 5 for iPeople ( iSheep )
or
Nexus 4 for the Android folk
Oh no you didnt!
The Galaxy nexus. Not the LG Nexus
Both Devices LG and iPhone 5 serve there purpose if you stand back and look at them. Apple really had no reason to include NFC in their phone (though I suspect it may be in the 5s) because NFC is not a officially adopted standard. Sure, I suspect iphone 5 users will be able to do some cool stuff with that, but who are they going to share it with? The nexus? The s3, I am sure there are platform issues there...
The hardware, well, the 5 is still a bit too small for my taste, the design of the phone is beautiful. Not to say my polycarbonate don't look good. The aluminum is more stiff then the polycarbonate but they both absorb shock differently. A good drop on either device just right will shatter the screen. Its a push.
The OS. This is where iOS really annoys me. You need a PC to backup your device. I had a ipod touch and when I moved drives, itunes wrecked my library and when I plugged my device in to add new music, it erased the stuff on my device!
You also need the PC to restore the thing. Everything about android can pretty much be done from the phone. Heck, you may be able to push SU through terminal, but the joke is, you need to be rooted to do so. So you need a PC in most cases to do just that. But after that, its all good.
The lack of LTE on the LG nexus 4. Pfffttt... What good is LTE when service is spotty? Where there is service, there are a limited number of towers so that can lead to network congestion. I think HSPA+ was a smart move. Now google pretty much has control over the device without carrier meddling. I dig the fact I can buy the device for 350 or 300 bucks and be ready to roll with out being bound to a carrier contract! (though I am still bound to a carrier contract right now, but a prepaid sim card!? Nice!)
Without LTE, I believe this allows for more then dual core CPUs, Though I cannot find the exact specs for the Nexus 4, if its a dual or quad core chip I do know its a snapdragon S4.
I do remember that is why us S3 users ended up with 2gb of ram because we lost the quad core chip so we could make use of LTE (where available)
I think with the Nexus 4, google pulled an Apple. Or used the axiom, "Just because you can, don't mean you should."
As far as the N10, its made by samsung, and I can't help but wonder if there is going to be another lawsuit from Apple down the line, just because of the google samsung and apple love triangle.
EDIT: Looks like perhaps the Nexus 4 has a quad core CPU. If you can believe wikipedia that is
Anyone else think it's funny that the Trophy costs more than 3x as much as the Gnex?
If you thought VZW hates the Nexus program, they REALLY hate WP7/8!

I just baked one of those small pepperoni Celeste pizzas for one and it had about 3 pieces of pepperonis and a small amount of cheese. I want my $1.08 back from winco!

1. *Pokes in head*
2. *Pays Verizon too much for service*
3. *Owns the best LTE Android phone on the market and is unwilling to even field discussion on this subject*
4. Here is the deal...
...Verizon and poor Sprint use "closed" wireless tech (700 MHz LTE spectrum is touted as open but VZW's CDMA trumps most provisions of it's holding of this generation's 4G; Sprint is crud and basically has the same hiccups.) and therefore intrude upon Google's vision of the ideal smartphone OS.
5. #4 is troubling because as a VZW Galaxy Nexus Owner I am aware of the delays dealt to me because if this proprietary stalemate. But because I rise above, via custom ROM, etc, I am largely unaffected.
6. Nexus devices, including the VZW Galaxy Nexus, are considered dev devices.
7. Why wouldn't Google challenge the status quo?
8. Goggle's experience with Nexus devices on legacy CDMA networks has left a bad taste in their mouth.
9. Result: No LTE Nexus this time.
10. This is a horrible choice. Over 300M ATT/VZW customers have no LTE option for a Nexus. Google, your arrogance has failed your vision.
11. Enjoy your GS3's. Yes you can root and ROM away the skin of TouchWiz but it is not a Nexus. I say this not to make fun but to point out the tragedy of the Nexus Program!
12. I have the only 4G LTE Nexus phone on the market. 4.1.2 with impending 4.2.

Whew. I'm glad to hear that. Don't like men in the dog house.

1 Yup
2 Yup
3 Pretty much
4 The monkey rigged GSM equipment on the CDMA 2000 network and the radios in the Nexus = not good
5 Yup
6 Um, no / yes? The CDMA version was removed from AOSP and was deemed as not a true "Nexus Device" / Was later reinstated as such? There was a huge stink about Google not officially supporting the CDMA version of the device. I can't remember if they changed their stance,
7 They pulled an Apple...
8 Agree (7)
9 Yup (7, 8)
10 I have to say disagree with you on this one. GSM is a HUGE network and, not only that, HSPA+ runs on that network. Sure, LTE speeds will destroy HSPA+ speeds. Sure, they could put an LTE radio in the thing for the people that do, but at the cost of battery while your phone searches for that LTE signal. Sure, you can turn it off, but then it become a moot point. I think Google seen the issue of the LTE in the nexus and figured it would go with more of a sure thing. A more stable GSM network (with HSPA+) with more towers and larger customer base. The Nexus 4 should work pretty much anywhere GSM is. LTE? Not a large enough market (7). In an area with no LTE? Well, your phone is on 3G anyway. At least with GSM HSPA+ is a middle ground. With my (your wife's nexus (which I hope she is enjoying )) It was either LTE or 3g and in my area I had horrid 3g service (area) not even getting 1mbps down.
I rarely see my S3 on 3G and if it is, it quickly changes. My download speeds, range from about 3-8mbps. On old network equipment. Sure, not some raging 30mpbs+ but still decent. I rather have 3mbps then 300kbps. Once again, location dependent. Since I went back to stock on my S3, the battery last two days Though I am sure I can kill it in a few hours.
I think Google was smart with this one. Larger network, larger customer base.
11. I agree. The S3 is NOT a nexus. Aside from the skin and bloat, its still pretty much the same as a nexus. Okay, not quite. Its not official supported by AOSP. But still
