It was actually really easy! The toolkit I used had everything for me.. I just plugged in the phone, and pushed go, and it installed CWM, rooted, and did a nandroid backup.. Here's the toolkit I used if anyone is interested:

PowerAMP is worth every dang penny, and I paid full price. If it's on sale you should buy it enough times to equal the full price, because it's worth it. It far outclasses Google's music app and Samsung's music app, and the lockscreen controls are awesome.

Amazon is looking pretty weak. But those laser gun sights are selling like hotcakes!
That Viridium tactical light/laser sight is a hot buy. Usually the sale price on those is $250-$270. $200 is the lowest I've ever seen it, and likely at or slightly below cost. I have a friend who is a gun store owner that sells those sights and at $279 they aren't making much on it at all.
So far just a few good deals and a lot of "meh" deals at Amazon. There are a couple things I've got my eye on though.

I own these shoes in men's, and they are quite excellent, lightweight, and definitely recommended. I use them for more than running, too, because they feel pretty durable, so I use them for work. Lots of other shoes on sale at 6pm though, and that's a general code, I think.

They are hard to brick, actually... unless you flash a CDMA system to a GSM phone, or vice versa. Heard that had happened with the Toro (CDMA) / Tuna (GSM) Galaxy nexus.

I am running CWM for a recovery.. Any issues with it? It was part of a toolkit for rooting an S3 I found on XDA...

Yeah it does seem as though Apple thinks they are the end all be all of phones, but we all know in reality, they aren't, but they sue everyone they can to make up for insecurities in their products.
