Hey guys.. just tried to flash a custom rom on to my phone and got an error and install aborted message... not sire why but luckily the phone still booted up to the stock rom... sucky part was I had to spend a lot of time restoring my backup for no gain.
You did not make a nandroid backup first? If so you should not have had to spend the time restoring everything.
Morning folks!
I got up really early since I remembered I forgot to order fish yesterday.
Hoping they can get it on a second truck or something. Really just shrimp we need. Crossing fingers.

I hate shrimp.
On a side note, I don't know what it is but 4.2 ROM's are fast! Sure it's better on the N4 but my GNex is running just fine.
Waiting on getting my mods back, but enjoying it so far.

I did, but the only thing I ended up having to replace were my apps, everything else was still in tact, so I just replaced the apps through Titanium backup. I haven't paid for the pro version yet, so I had to restore one app at a time...

Hmmmm.. I tried that, and it said I had to go to the pro version to do it. At any rate, it's back to normal. I may leave the ROM alone.. I am pretty used to the stock Samsung ROM, and kinda like it.
On another note, good morning S3er's! It's raining here, which makes my job fun, walking our yard, doing a 30 minute yard check at work, in the rain....

The nandriod should have put your apps back too as it is a complete image of your whole system.
You are using CWM, right? I have not used CWM in a long time, so it may be different then what I am using. Have you tried TWRP? You can get it though goo manager (in the market) then load it up, click menu, install openscript recovery and that will install TWRP for you.
After TWRP is installed, boot into recovery, make a backup
Lots of roms are set up to use TWRP now. I heard CWM has come problems and some roms do not flash right under CWM.
I used the wife's last night for the first time...very frustrating. Had no idea what any of the icons mean, couldn't figure out how to open up another screen, & the whole use two fingers to scroll up & down . You don't want to know how long it took me to figure that out.
I bought an app from the AppStore last night for my macbook.
Please don't flog me
i thought i told you to go to the top of the page and to the right of were it says android click And never come back.

You are one to talk mr Note II buyer
I love the trackpad on this thing
Granted, I have run into some counterintuitive issues while using it and doing photo editing. Last night I imported some shots into iPhoto, could not find them, so I went back into iPhoto, copied them, dropped them to a folder that I could find, then opened up DPP to process the raw files only to learn that iPhoto converted them to jpeg (with out telling me!) and I could not edit the raw files. Good thing I did not delete the images from the card from withen iPhoto. I would have been MAD!
So, I had to shove the card back in, go to the directory, select the raw images, copy them then drop them where I wanted on the computer. Which, is what I normally did with the PC.
Selecting photos with the trackpad is a bit of a issue to when you "run out of screen room". I need a one size fits all program and think lightroom may be the answer. Oh, and an actual mouse.
The best part, however, is the prints are pretty much as I see on the screen, which is great.

Don't get me started on the pictures amigo. I was putting her old camera & my S3 on ebay last night & couldn't for the life of me figure out how / where / when / to find them. I had to save the auction as a draft within ebay, & then use the ebay app on my S3 to load the pictures. Oh boy....

There's a check box when you launch the app on the top right corner, which is where you can batch restore/backup/etc. It doesn't require pro.

Interesting.. I am using CWM.. I am thinking about going to TWRP, but I wanna learn more about it first. I haven't really tinkered with all the root possibilities yet.. This is my first rooted Android.. My last phone was an inspire 4g that I kept stock...

I actually looked into these. My problem with it, is it's not very discrete. I have several wallet type cases but they are closed and I usually use them only at the gym or while traveling.
Oh, and you are welcome to breakfast in the morning..... hopefully Dread will bring crab!

That BAK case looks pretty nice, but I wouldn't trust it to protect my phone, and I certainly don't think it would be worth $75...

Edit: if I was really in the market for a new camera, I could of picked up a Nikon D3000 kit from best buy with two lenses (slow kit glass, but still) 55-200mm and 18-55 (I think), a bag, card, some other stuff, for like 450 bucks on clearance. from like nearly 800 bucks.
I almost bought it for the heck of it.

But, seriously, how is it? I still don't think I could afford it outright even if I sold my Prime.
Note 2 Hole : Wouldn't start one even if you paid me.
Note 2 itself is pretty freakin' nice my friend , couldn't be happier.

Kind of luke-warm. Looks cool, and probably convenient, but I don't know how practical it is. That way when someone steals your phone (or you forget it) they get more than just your phone, or you forget more than your phone. I suppose for folks that just wanna have a few bills and an ID and not have to carry a separate wallet it would make sense.
