Didn't work.

Did the conversation to limit streaming to Safari and QuickTime go like this:

Tim: Should we live stream the event?

Jony: Yeah, but let's keep it from as many people as possible.

Tim: QuickTime only?

Jony: Yeaaaah, and only using Safari!

Tim: Muahahahahaha!

Idiots.

Then go into settings-->advanced-->user agents

However, see above.

What this could have been was the service doing its half hour fetch of new topics and stuff, but this really should not take juice.

Now, what this means? If in airplane mode, the programs are still running and trying to check services, well, then, it would eat up battery because they are spending the time to get out when they can't.

I also noted even when on wifi, my cell signal was trashed. Weak cell service was noted in the battery stats. Why this thing is on wifi, it is still using using cell data. Kind of don't make sense, but it kind of does, because the device still needs to handshake with the tower.

My phones happen to use the microcell tower, I am not sure if I can use the nexus 7 on that, I guess I could add the number to the list to see if that works.

Since the device has spent lots of time in my basement with crappy service and the same at work.

But why would my battery get trashed at work in airplane mode? Same thing. Services trying to update.

Either this is a bad battery (I will find out more after some testing). A rampaging API from google's updated software, or something else.

With the new rom / kernel and more testing, perhaps I can narrow things down.

Services will only use power on the CPU if in airplane mode. No connection can be made therefore no signal is leaving the phone, therefore the wifi or 3G adapters won't use any power because to all intents and purposes they are off.

Okay, google wallet, one of the larger reasons for NFC is not doing so well, and with wifi tricks, including peer to peer, well, just seems like NFC would be pretty useless.

Though I suspect wifi uses more power, but the bandwidth should be better.

Just thinking out loud.

Sooo, thought I could fix our kitchen faucet since the lady broke off the sprayer. Bought what I thought were the parts needed. It's not happening.
Had to call the landlord to get it fixed. Lord knows when that will happen.

Thanks for the laugh, BB.
I've been trying to fix the faucet on the sink but realized it's beyond my abilities (and I'm in a rental so I shouldn't be doing this anyway!). Just frustrating is all. But got this last load into the dishwasher, running. Will be a delivery dinner sort of night.

Trust me, I do what I can, funky! Our landlord, while provides a decent service company, can be sluggish on that stuff. Always prefer to do stuff myself.

iOS 7 looks like a steaming pile of Windows Phone, Jolla and Meego, with some iOS clone of the Roboto font in Stock Android 4.x.x.

It's turrible!

Did you see how much android ripped off iOS7?

Okay, giving the reworked N7 a trial.

So have they come up with anything that will be true innovation?

We had an issue with our front door to the building a few years ago. Apparently, there was an open code to get in. Our storage rooms were busted into a couple times and things were stolen (a bike, and a couple other things). I finally got to the point of not paying rent until a solution was a found. Well, they fixed the door issue, but then finally started charging "rent" on the storage units which I asked several times how to go about before with no avail (but our stupid rental company had no idea about).
Needless to say, we're looking and saving hard about purchasing a place. Tired of renting in DC.

Yeah renting from private landlords can be a bummer man but the only other alternative for me is renting from the council (basicly places you would call the projects) been there, done that lol, never again

Trying to figure this out...

Mobile signal is trashed, but yet I am on wifi. I know a weaker mobile signal will trash the battery, but when I am wifi?

I guess I pull the sim card and or turn off mobile data.

My phones don't have this much of an issue.

Am I expecting too much?

Compare to my note 2

Edit: came across this...

That just simply shows a while bunch of wakelock. As people have said before, find out the cause and treat it.
