Android seems to becoming the "Just because we can" platform.

I have heard embedded linux, but this seems to be like a total over saturation of android.

They say your not suppose to punch a guy in the face w/ glasses, however he's the straw that broke the camels back. Super annoying. Stop the comedy routine already.

Bleh, guys are cleaning up our AC units. Appreciate it but they can't run them for some time and I decided to bake off more bagels so it's just hot as hell in the apartment. And, with them here, I have to stay dressed.

We went w/o air last Wednesday ( the condenser went out ). Got up to 88 in the house before it was fixed. Luckily the humidity hasn't been too bad so not as bad as it could have been if it was July or August.

Seriously, I went an entire winter (living solo) in Kansas without heat. It was a messed up situation, but I could handle it. However, intense heat just makes me crazy irritable. I'm hoping they can finish soon. My wife called to see what's up and said, well, we can go out for dinner....
I'll see how much longer they'll be before I take her up on that. It's only 83 degrees in the apartment now.

Nah, seriously, when we grew up in Mass, that's all we had. It worked wonders. Certainly some hot nights, but we survived without AC. DC, second floor apartment facing the West in the summer. NO, I need it cranking full time. God forbid I try to bake some bread or something.

Are you surprised? I just think the NX is a joke just like the first Galaxy Camera was.
Pick your battle, do you want a device you always carry with you (your smart phone) or a designated camera? My (and yours ) RX100 is barely any larger than my smartphone. Toss it in my bag if I know I'm going to take pics. Don't shoot RAW since I don't work with the requisite software, but I know what you're saying.
I just love the macro with manual focus with my Sony.

Still really not interested in the nx even if it does shoot raw. I was just surprised that they would enable it.

Being a native Californian. I forgive you for your obscenities. You can not compare Cali weather with southern weather. It was 100° today with 80% humidity. Any one who attempted to brave that weather without ac, would suffer heat stroke, dehydrate and die.

We don't get the humidity under that huge layer.

We get 100 degF at well over a mile in elevation. Any breeze just dries your skin further. My buddies and I call it acid sun.

I think that the worst I've known is Asia, super humid, super hot, but after a point it's all the same, wet or dry -

Just damned hot.

Downgraded my google play services to 2.0.12 and downgraded hangouts then disabled it on the N7. Lets see if this works...

Hey there
Had a day out in the city of Leiden (luckily only a 15 minutes drive from home, Leiden is the oldest Dutch university city) with coworkers yesterday.
Lunch, a walk around town, visited the Boerhaave museum (history of science and medicins), the Pieters Church (where the Pilgrim Fathers started their trip to the other side of the pond), the Hortus Botanicus, made a lil boat trip through the canals

and had a lovely dinner.

It was really warm and humid. Light rains now and then.
Managed to make some pics if anyone wants to see them.

Looks like fun, Kaat.
Did you go to a Body Worlds exhibit, judging by that one photo?
We saw a huge one at a museum in Chicago. Fascinating stuff.

This was in Boerhaave national museum for the history of science and medicine. (The machines in the pics is early fitness equipment.)
Leiden started a university for this in the seventeenth century. The Hortus Botanicus is part of it also.

Creepy, yes! Fascinating, absolutely. The hardest one to see was the cutaways of women's bodies throughout their pregnancy where you could see the fetus at different stages of growth.
The other interesting section was seeing organs that had suffered from some disease whether it was cancer or something else. It's tough at the beginning, but if you can stomach it, I highly recommend seeking out an exhibit.
(also, looks like they did one in Rotterdam a couple years ago if that's closer to you)

Finally realized why Colbert wasn't on this week (until last night). His 92 year old mother passed away.
Stephen Colbert offers a touching tribute to his mom who just died
