Hearing reports on the S4 and HTC one clocking down and heating up when CPU is stressed. Kind of renders fast clock speeds a moot point. Not sure on the chip set, possibly the qualcom devices.

I have to say when I played Uno w/ Friends mine ( S4 ) would get pretty warm, but however on racing games ( Asphalt 7 & Real Racing 3 ) where my S3 & Note 2 would get warm the S4 doesn't.

Ah man, The Burbs movie is on tv. What a classic.
We're headed out for a late lunch and need to pick up a Washington Post since our review is in the magazine. And, guess which photo they picked to put on the cover? Our bread station.

You and the whole family always look good in your pictures, thanks for sharing!

Did you hear that applying heat takes out the itching? Won't help the swelling.

Not going near the horns.

They say that heat breaks down the proteins at the bite causing the reaction.

There's an article in the other watering hole saying run a spoon under hot water or using a hair dryer works.

I'll tell you how to deal with fire ant bites. Mix your own spit with table salt, rub on the wound. Gross. Works like magic.

Heat totally works.

On a related note...

I was at the gym a couple weeks back and had an interesting run in with regular old ants.

My car was parked in the last spot in the row, right next to a concrete divider which has a small tree and some dirt in the center. I was outside my car, standing on said divider reading an article on gReader.

As I finish the article I notice an itch on my left and promptly scratch it. I get into my car and decide to read one more article before I head home. After a few seconds or so, I feel another itch. Scratch it. Then another and another.

So I turn on my flashlight on my N4 and look at my legs to see ants crawling all over both of my legs (I'm getting phantom itches just typing this out)! I thought nothing of the first few itches because I'm usually drenched in sweat when I'm done working out and it is sometime itchy as gravity does its thing.

Any who, I proceed to jump (literally) out of the car to brush off all these ants. Not fun! Then I jump back into my car and park in a different spot. I still have ants on me and jump out of my car again.

Once I remove all ants from my legs and shoes, I saunter over to my original parking spot. Using my flashlight I spot a colony of ants, which happen to be marching right were I would have to stand, if only briefly, to unlock and get into my car.

Needless to say, I haven't parked there since. Don't plan on it ever again.

Man I've got the heebee jeebees right now!

Try a hayfever tablet where you got biten severely. It's a histamine thing. It will stop the itching. Got it on prescription when I went for a bike ride in Finnland. Worked great for me

Morning folks.
On day 9 in a row of work. Ugh. Actually today is my first day closing which is essentially just baking off all the bread. Should be fun and I work by myself as well. Wish I could have slept in longer though.

Howdy folks.... trying a new nutritional plan this month. Normally I "eat clean" , but that leaves little foods that are comfort foods....

This month I will try
"If it's fits your macro " (iifym)
A bit more complicated, but hopefully it will prove more realistic for my life. Wish me luck!

Okay, finding some used GS3s for great prices. Really itching to swap. Partly because my wife hates her Bionic, and neither of us have upgrades for several months.
Looking at how development is for it and seems to be great strong for Verizon's version.

Morning all.

Trying to solve the issue of the battery eating media server on my moms s3. Eating a whopping 73% of battery. It goes nuts for a while then seems fine after. Will try a reboot but kind of annoying since she uses nothing in the way of media aside from a few photos stored on her device that she don't look at.

Maybe a rom change or something.

Trust me, it'll be on an AOSP ROM day 1.
Already ordered some stuff to mod it to enable wireless charging as well. Use an old Palm Pixi back, and brick. Cost me $25 so even if it doesn't work, it's a whole lot cheaper than Samsung's method.

I have been loosely following the Moto X phone and from what I can gather it is going to be nothing more then an outdated-out-of-the-gate (think thunderbolt), mid range spec'd device. Motorola's last stand.

Sure, very close to stock android experience. Slightly customizable. (How long will it take to get the thing from Moto anyway!?)

Bootloader unlocked? I would be surprised to see this, if not, this would be a big nail in their coffin. The lower spec'd devices? Yet another nail. The seemingly (to me) cheesy "build your own device" some will by it, some will not. I can see this as a way compete with the rumored lower cost iPhone that may come in an array of colors.

Come on, Motorola! If the mid range spec'd X phone is true, then its a play to compete with the lower cosed plastic iPhone rumored, a way to make it lower cost to attempt to make it more attractive to some buyers, in a way PG13 vs R rated movies does, then, I think you should just stop.

Seriously, moto. Just. Stop. Think. There are two other high end smart phones out there right now, running stock android, the moto x seems to point to a "me too" that, like previous track records show, (thunderbolt anyway) are late to the party.

Unless this moto x phone (as it is rumored now) is going to be around the same price as the nexus 4, then you might as well start digging.

Want to impress? Hows about unlocking your bootloaders for a start? Wait, verizon will not allow that? Awww, that too bad. I realize big red payed big bucks for the Droid moniker. So, make something else for the rest of the carriers. Verizon is not the only game in town, you know. Make us a GSM equivalent device with an unlocked bootloader and allow dev's in. Stop locking bootloaders.

Blur was not so bad. Encrypted bootloaders are far worse. Allow independent developers in to your devices instead of allowing them to become obsolete after 6 months. This goes for all you android handset makers. Dave gets shiny new phone, 3 months later its already been bumped by a newer device with better spec's then a few months later Dave learns of no new updates for his device and within 6 months Dave has a obsolete device with little independent dev support and non from the handset maker, because they abandoned that once was new device 6 months ago and basically say, "well, you should have waiting" and, "Well, this is proprietary software that you cannot circumvent, even though you own the hardware." Now dave is bitter toward the handset maker.

Its a bootloader! Shesh. Unlock it. Let someone else keep the hardware alive for the next generation of devices, and keep a wee bit less e-waste out of the landfills.

Okay, that is enough rambling / ranting for now.

Edit: was not 100% awake when I posted this, but "thunderbolt" could be replaced by "bionic" which would be a bit more apt in this case...

Surprised to see some development for the Original AT&T note I. I am trying to extend the life and usefulness of this relic. Since the Playstore kept crashing trying to load up "my apps" after a nandriod backup and factory reset.

Trying [Rom][JellyBean][4.2.2.][BeanStalk Build 1.261][updated 6.30][HALO][4Aces]

Hope the thing will at least be useful instead of a dust collector.
