It appears that it supports all of T-Mobile's bands, and some of AT&T's. Not their LTE, but it does support their HSPA.
No point of the device then since the nexus 4 also supports at&ts hspa bands

The leather like covering looks cool, but I couldn't have a phone that won't fit comfortably in my front pocket. Nice to see Samsung sticking with the SD card slot even though the phone comes with 32 or 64 GB of storage.

Try an AOSP rom on your phone an see if you like the feel of it. Some people like the OEM skin stuff, others hate it and swear to only use AOSP. Many people experience AOSP for the first time and can't go back.

Good thinking, use a device you can possibly afford to do without. thing is, I use all my tablets on a daily basis, so maybe I will get another phone for really cheap and learn to play around with it with various OS's.
I wanted to install Linux Mint or something on a Android device.
I know that there is one Linux (other than Android) that can be installed on a phone.

And you can add further customization and get better performance as well. Just do your research, follow instructions and it'll be just fine.

I'm waiting for a stable 4.3. Trim sounds great if it works.

Beanstalk has been running just great on my S3 for several days now, and it's 4.3 based:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2354113
Also, if you want to accomplish something similar to trim, check out Lagfix free:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grilledmonkey.lagfix&hl=en
I run it weekly. Not sure if it's just placebo, but seems to speed things up nicely.

Beanstalk 4.3 compiled for the LTEvo, mighty quick. Plus the latest camera (in the Play Store, move into system if you like) has all of the features working, including save to sd card.

If you want to speed up your sd card access, consider using Android Tuner and changing the buffer size. I'm at 512, nice difference.

Well, checked AT&T this morning: the Note 3 cost 700 bucks off contract. The LG G2? 575....

Two different markets, I suppose.

Waiting for the Nexus 5 announcement (I never activated my 4 other then for a couple hours on T-mo prepaid) because of the hit in speed and sending out weather pics and getting radar data.

Also curious about the iPhone 5s / 5c even though its going to be pretty much the same thing, but then again, whats not these days?

Nexus 5 supposedly went through fcc certification recently and looks mighty good outside of the battery. It's not bad, but I would have wanted higher capacity.

Just pre-ordered the Note 3 on Verizon. Their system is doing anything & everything to get umlimited folks off of unlimited. Got a CSR to finally get it to work ( month to month / full retail ) to keep unlimited data. Device will ship by October 10th.

Hope all is well folks

If the screen sizes keep getting as big as they do on these devices, P'lin's shoe size might have a little competition

I know right! I think this will be a great upgrade for him. Me, I'm still satisfied with my S3 for now... dumping too much money into sewing does that for a budget!

Morning all.

Anyone going to watch the apple event tomorrow? I suspect not many will because last time only users of apple products could and most people here don't like apple anyway.

I am curious about what they are up to, from the tech point of view, but I suspect more of the same.
