i worked hard on that subject all term and in one fell swoop (the finals), i know i'll fail. it'll take a christmas miracle so i can pass
the final exam is 30% of the grade.

Mrs D has been really against me touching her phone (not a euphemism) but, since her 2 year contract is nearly up (and it is still on Android 2.1
), I've been given the all clear

No pressure but if you brick it I don't think she will let you "touch her" again

I'll have some of that action... knowing my luck, it'd happen and I'd never hear the end of it!!

She asked me what rooting was and, after I saw that she is still on 2.1, I just said that I'd make her phone run soother and be more up to date. She seems on board!

Who would bother developing for the Rhyme?

Just had a quick look in the Galaxy S sub-forum... it look like, as she's on 2.1, it really is as simple as putting an update on the root of the SD card and letting it update to gain root.
Gonna have a proper look at it this weekend... if it all goes wrong, I'll not hear the end of it... if it goes right, I'll be the phone savior!

yeah... as I said, a quick search looks like (for 2.1 at least) it is a case of putting a file on the SD card and letting it update!

Not really thought that far ahead... I do like the CyanogenMod ROM's... guess it depends on what she wants though
Will check stuff out, but she would just be happy to be able to use the phone properly (it's not been functioning right for quite a while)!
