Default Ebay Question

I stuck an item on eBay this morning, the start price was £90, my Buy it Now price was £140. Some guy bid £90, but PM'd me asking if I'd accept lower than the Buy it Now price, but still within reason. We haggled a bit and agreed on a price, but his actual bid on the item is still £90. He's told me to end the auction and I can invoice him via eBay for the agreed amount once ended.

Is that the case? If his bid is £90, will he automatically be invoiced for that once I click sell or do I have the option of amending what I'm invoicing him for after the sell button is clicked and the auction has ended?

Sorry, never actually sold an item on ebay before so I don't want to diddle myself out of cash because I'm not overly sure how stuff works. I'm relatively certain I can, but the wording on the ebay site isn't overly clear.

Ebay.co.uk if that makes a difference.

Change it to buy now with best offer, tell guy to send you offer. I'm not sure if it's still possible because after certain period of time and after people start bidding, you can not change some things. If item is not going to sell, I'd send him invoice through paypal. I'd be watching for scam as well, don't accept anything other than paypal if you sell it through ebay.

You should be able to edit the listing as long as it is within the 48 hour period of the end listing time. At least here in the USA it is like that. I would not end the auction unless he sent you payment, if he sends payment from PayPal then you can end your listing early with no issues, again as long as it is within the 48 HR period of end

I've sold hundreds of things on Ebay and never had this occur. I've had people contact me with lower starting bids, but I said no thank you. I've never used buy it now.

Yeah I always stick mine on for 0.01 with no reserve and let it go. I didn't know you could edit listings.

Thanks, I've messaged him to ask if he'll increase his bid to the price we've discussed.

Well it turns out you can change the invoice amount after selling the item. It's sold and the money is pending in my PayPal account. Thanks for the input folks

Yes he will only be required to pay $90 euro. The worst part is once some one bids on an item then the item can only be bid on & no one can buy it now.

A lot of people make the mistake of thinking I can start the bid at 99c & my buy it now what I want for it. That is not the case. Once some one bids 99c they can ride the auction out until it closes & get the item for 99c if no one else bids.
