I wiped my Droid before sending back. There is an option under settings to restore factory settings. Cannot remember the subgroup but play around in there and you will wipe the phone and SD card.

Bought mine this morning too! It's amazing how much bigger the screen is compared to my XV6900. I showed it to a couple guys here at work that have iPhones and and they were pretty impressed. One of them went to a web site he likes that uses flash and when it worked he was loving it. Given a little time he may even convert.

If only the power strip wasn't under the desk so I could play with it while it charges!

Got my Droid Incredible at a Verizon store a couple hours ago. So happy! The sales woman that helped us (my boss and I both got one) said that she personally had sold 7 already. While we were checking out, two other people were getting Incredible's also. I did see one poor lady buying a Droid Eris. Ouch!!

Anyway, love the phone, love Android Forums, and now I have to TRY and work for a few more hours while the Incredible just sits on my desk staring at me.

Picked up my first Android phone (moving from a Touch Pro 2), and the store even honored the $469 price they quoted on the phone. I saw the Verizon price sheet, which incorrectly listed $469 as the price.

Default Should I be concerned?

Okay...picked up the D.Inc yesterday from fedex hub, got home (9pm), charged it overnight. Placed phone back into box to bring to work with me to activate/customize...had meetings from 8:30am - 12:30pm. Get back to my office anxiously ready to play with the phone (still never turned on since charging)...Battery's totally dead??? (WTF)
Am I missing something or just being an idiot stressing over nothing?

Okay. I received my phone yesterday and got it all set up with no problems. Today I am having a few problems.
#1 The internet was taking a longer to load websites. I only downloaded 3 or 4 apps so I dont think that is to blame. Although speed has picked up a little since I had this problem.
#2 On Facebook I am not able to select the "comment" button to respond to a post.

Other than this, I Love my Incredible.

Can anyone help with these two issues?

Thanks

Picked mine up at Best Buy during my lunch break. I asked them to pricematch Verizon's $529 price and at first they wouldn't telling me that they don't match full price because they don't make any money on non-contract phones.

Then I spoke to the mobile phone supervisor and he backed off but said he would only pricematch if the local Verizon store had stock. So i said there are several verizon stores so why waste your time, i'm sure one of them has stock. He says, he said "local" meaning the store around the corner. He said he wouldn't call 20 stores and would only call the closest one...fortunately they did have stock.

I hate Best Buy most of the time but I had $25 reward zone dollars I wanted to use so I went there instead of a VZW corp store. 10 minutes later I walked out with my phone. A little hassle but worth it.

Set up my gmail, work email and did the backup assistant with no problems. Will update apps tonight when I get home from work. Charging on my desk now, not sure if I can really do any work now!

Internet loading is more likely than not a 3G signal issue, at times the Mighty Big red does bog down (not by much and not all that often, but it does happen). Try it a little later to see if the speed has picked up. And the facebook issue might be because the data from the page hasn't loaded properly (i.e. errors on page). Try refreshing

Does anyone know how to remove or at least terminate apps like CItyID on the Incredible? I've force stopped CityID multiple times and it seems to just restart on its own. Any suggestions?

Somebody had mentioned a few days ago that a CSR they talked to said they underestimated how big this release was going to be. They said the demand was 10 times that of the Moto Droid at release. But that is online, I don't think there is the same demand in the stores because most everyone was pre-ordering it. Also, not selling in one or even five stores is not a good guage of how well it's selling. I think when the numbers are released it will be surprising.

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone could help me get an Incredible. Like many I followed the Inc thread for many months. Everyone got me excited about the phone and I figured I would have no problem upgrading to the Inc. because I checked my NE2 and it is set at 3/28/11 but I know Verizon normally lets you do an early yearly upgrade. I called Verizon on the 4/19 to see if it was possible for me to pre-order it and the guy told me I couldn't because I wasn't eligible for an upgrade but then he said they can give me the one year pricing on it if I called back once the phone was released which would be on the 29th.

So today I thought why not give the store a try and see if they can give me the full upgrade and I went to two different stores but both said I couldn't upgrade and the only option was to pay full retail. That wasn't too big a deal to me so I called Verizon to get the one year pricing on it which I was told was going to be $269.99. The lady I talked to told me they couldn't do any upgrade and that I would have to pay full retail. Now, I was a bit upset but I decided to call again just a few minutes ago. A talked to a different lady but she told me the same thing. I told both of them that last week the man I talked to said I could do the one year pricing but neither helped me with that.

I know everyone on these forums are very helpful and I was wondering if anyone can help me out with my dilemma. Any advice on what I should try or do?

You can always add a line and change your primary line down to a the lowest possible plan, that way you get the new contract price. And there is always the etf on that line as well, someone on here was saying that the maximum charge on the ETF was now 175.00? I may be wrong but those are the options I know of.

they didnt even bother to check if the sdcard was still in the device, they just checked if the plug and cable were there... but i was honest and didnt try to pull a quick one and just hand over my phone without the sdcard.

anyone know if the incredible can really support a 32gb minisd before i go out and purchase one?

The hardware can, it's android 2.1 that doesn't fully support it yet.

I received my DI at work this afternoon, how long does it take to charge the first time? I am getting impatient. Yes, I know that it said aprox 4 hours… but I was hoping someone would tell me that it really doesn’t take that long… It is hard to concentrate on work as I keep staring at the red light, waiting for it to turn green.

so purchasing a 32 would be safe to do as im sure it will have the capability of recognizing a 32 in the near future... im assuming it would only read it as a 16 if i do pop it in...

Can someone who already has the phone try this new browser out with Hulu? I'd love to know if it works.

Previously used an iPhone, and couldn't wait for the Incredible. My mom always said, "If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything." So, here's the good:

This phone rocks. No lag running apps. Some lag while running background apps, downloading/installing a new app and scrolling thru an email. Amazing.

Colors are great, camera is great, good feel to the phone, not too bulky in my pocket. And I even have a choice of browsers.

And here's the bad:

Cheesy plastic backing for the battery cover/back-plate. Really? Seriously? It feels like it was made from a thinned-down tv-dinner tray.

The USB connection on the phone is not good at all. Definitely going to stop working over time, and I think we all know how frequently this phone needs to be charged. The cable feels like it is going to fall out when it is properly connected.

Battery life. Ouch. As someone mentioned, I had my BT off and was running the cell and wireless radios and you could almost literally watch the battery meter go down. That said, I live in an area with a weak cell signal, and I know the cell radio works overtime when it's searching for service.

Even so, this is hands-down the best phone I have ever owned. It's definitely leaps beyond the iPhone, in my opinion. And it's especiially suited to people interested in adjusting the slightest settings on their phones.

Default how do I make a ringtone?

I'm slowing plowing through my Incredible trying to get comfortable with it. It will take me a while, but I'm having fun. One thing I'm stuck on. I have loaded about 10 songs onto my card. I would like to make ringtones out of parts of a few of these songs. I recall someone saying there was a way to cut out the part you want to save as a ringtone. This feature was already on our Incredibles, but I don't know where to find it or what it's called.

By the way, I went to my local Verizon store this morning to see if I could swap the free 2 GB card that want sent to me for a phone charger. No dice! Oh well. I also see (maybe it's been reported already--I haven't been reading the forum much today because I'm playing with my new toy) that Amazon has the Incredible for $99. Yikes.

Default City ID

I just got my first call on my DI and I see the callers location, is the City ID app a paid service as it was on dumb phones? I assume it can't be deleted since it came with the phone?

It should work fine, look for the issue to be resolved when Android 2.2 is released (sometime in May is the rumor right now).

Check out an app called RingDroid. Haven't used it but it's free and I've heard works well for that exact purpose.

the screen protector from vzw is so bad it's ridiculous. it feels so sticks and has a million bubbles. my zagg isn't here yet so i have to go a day or two with no protection. i'm petrified of getting a scratch. do you think it will scratch easily if i'm really careful though? did not activate yet and can't until my dad gets home since i don't know soc sec and such.

I'm downloading an app to use the trackpad as a lock button.

AACKK! I haven't gotten that far yet (installing an app). I'm a real novice. Isn't there something on this phone that will do that for me already? Otherwise, I'll take the plunge and try RingDroid. Thanks!

Has had my incredible for a couple days. This phone is rocking the sh*t! ******ed fast and "so pertty" (said is best deliverance voice).

Sold my Droid for $230 and I kept the 16gb sd card. Guy who bought it works at a verizon reseller store.

If you have a droid to sell do it quickly. Prices are going to drop quickly once people see the incredible.

Aha! So I found something in the stock software that may work for you. Pick a song and play it in the music app. Hit menu>set as ringtone>trim the ringtone....then it gives you the option to just select part of the song. hooray!
