BINGO! I think that's what I was thinking of. I'll check it out. But I have already downloaded my very first app. So much to learn! Thanks for finding this for me.

By the way, now that I'm trimming my first song (Lily was Here), how many seconds do you usually make a ringtone?

i got to my local verizon this morning at 7:45 am not knowing if there would be a line or people waiting to buy this phone. there were 3 other people waiting for the doors to open. once we got in there a few more people cam in to get the incredible but it wasn't mayhem like some people thought. they started with 50 units, by the time i left with mine 30 minutes later there were 45 left. i guess thats what no advertising can get you...

Then I spoke to the mobile phone supervisor and he backed off but said he would only pricematch if the local Verizon store had stock. So i said there are several verizon stores so why waste your time, i'm sure one of them has stock. He says, he said "local" meaning the store around the corner. He said he wouldn't call 20 stores and would only call the closest one...fortunately they did have stock.

I hate Best Buy most of the time but I had $25 reward zone dollars I wanted to use so I went there instead of a VZW corp store. 10 minutes later I walked out with my phone. A little hassle but worth it.

Set up my gmail, work email and did the backup assistant with no problems. Will update apps tonight when I get home from work. Charging on my desk now, not sure if I can really do any work now!
Same exact thing happened to me at BB. BB price is $599 and they refused to price-match it. I called the 800- BESTBUY number, spoke to a great rep who called the store, spoke to them, and, long story short, got them to match the $529 price. They were NOT happy about it though. I had $100 in gift cards and $75 in Reward Zone dollars. I am starting to dislike Best Buy. It seems like since Circuit City colsed a few years back, the reps attitudes have gone in the crapper. I shouldn't have to sacrifice my first born and a snickers bar to get a product from them. We're supposed to be in a recession, why cant they hire people that have better attitudes and some common sense? Unbelievable! I thought I was the only one that this happened to.

firstly, thank you for being here.
My new Incredible is charged. It is staring at me. I am staring at it. I am old, widowed, and live alone. This technology is so foreign to me. I am afraid to activate the dinc as I only have my cell service and am worried I will screw it up and not be able to make or receive calls. What have I done?
I have been reading on this forum for over 4 hours and still feel completely inept. Someone 'goose' me. Tell me I am going to learn about this. Tell me it will all be okay. My current phone is the Samsung Sway.............see how far behind I am?
arghhh

hey all! missed you guys! Loving the new phone, less than thrilled on the battery but have taken to forums advice on maximizing it, and will no doubt order the extended when it's available.

Just wanted to say hi to the gang. . .

I don't know whats worse...the wait to get my hands on this lovely little piece of hardware. . (thats what she said!?) or the abysmal feeling of missing my forum friends?

Got mine for $199 - $100 NE2 and hopefully - SMART30 code $30 (called in this morning and they said they'd submit it) for a final total of $69.99 (plus the 2GB card that goes to my niece). Luv this phone! Coming from a 3G Multimedia phone to this is like moving from stone knives and bearskins to a Colt .45 and Armani! My battery life has held out better than expected and for the guy who had a problem with the charge port mine is very snug. Might wanna talk to a Verizon store rep about it.

It's finally In my hands and I have to say that that this is the best Android device I have owned. Yes I have said this about all of the others but the Incredible is far above my expectations that I gathered from previous models. I went from a G1 to MT3G then the Eris and traded that for the Droid and finally landed with an Android I think I will be happy with for longer than six months. I hope everyone got what they expected with this. That's all for the praises and I think you all have a slightidea how I feel about this phone. If anyone has questions you can PM me but I dont answer forum question.

I just got my phone and it is surprisingly light, but it doesn't feel cheap at the least. I'm charging it for the first time as I'm typing and I cannot wait to get it all set up and used... I'm hoping to get an Anti-Glare Steinheil screen protector, the gradient case from VZN, a holster--possibly, and I already have an 8GB Class 6 A-DATA microSD--which I originally bought while waiting for the Nexus One.

Not that anyone cares, but I got mine today, got in at a verizon store, told the CSR I wanted a way to get around the mail in rebate and he said I could bill to my account, so I did, paid $200 out of pocket and billed the mail in rebate, by the time the rebate gets here I can just apply it to my account and all will be well.

<----- new owner of the HTC Verizon Google Droid Incredible!!

The store I walked into had 35 this morning and at 12:30 when I got in had 3 left. Just by the hair of my chin! I'm stoked to have it though. Charging now. This is going to be a fun ride!

I still think the talk about the battery sucking may be a bit pre mature, I remember when I first got my Storm, the battery didn't last 4 hours! I was so pissed I ordered a new battery and a dedicated charging staion so that I could always have one at the ready. Well after the first week the battery found it's legs and I never even had to use the second battery! I'm 100% sure that will be the case with the Inc. battery so please everyone give it time the battery will hit it's sweet spot and this will be clear sailing from there on out!!!

Just wanted to say that I showed my Incredible to two of my friends who have iPhones today and they were both jealous of the things that it can do that their iPhone sadly cannot...

It's so sweet that this phone is actually as awesome as all of us thought it was going to be over the past months.

I think the battery's going to be fine, I got mine yesterday, charged it, and then spent 6 hours downloading apps, using the browser, using navigation, with the screen on the whole time, and then it finally got down to the red. If it can last 6 hours of continuous non-stop use, than I'm pretty sure it'll get through a regular day no problem.

One question, has anyone added video files to their Incredible and got them to play. I tried adding it to the internal memory and the sd card. I tried to video players off the market and both recognized the video on the sd card but couldn't play them. I set up one as H.264 and the other as an MP4, both of which should be playable on here. Any help appreciated.

Just got it! Stupid fast and crazy responsive.

But.................

THE FREAKIN SCREEN BLOWS!!! The white background is actually a slight pink and the resolution is nothing near the Droid. It reminds me of some blackberry screen or something.

I am super pissed.

My wife just got a new phone last week, she thought that the Inc. would be too much for her and she decided not to hold out for the Iphone (I know, I know) she ended up getting the palm pre plus ( with me hyping it as much as possible). She likes it, personally I think it is ok, but at least she'll still be busy playing with her phone she'll leave me alone with mine

Sounds like a defective unit, there have been reports about the "pink" screen in the thread all day, get it replaced asap it is not supposed to have the pink hue!

Really, I thought the screen was much better than the Droids I looked at. The edges are very crisp and the contrast makes the colors really pop. As far as the whites looking pink I know others have reported that but I haven't seen that at all. I'd try adjusting the display and/ or taking it into a store.

I'd actually look into the locked forum on this one - - someone had this issue yesterday, sort of - - he got an INC and so did his dad, and his dad's screen had the pink thing going on. I'd PM him for specifics, he might have exchanged it or something. That's not normal, though, and might be returnable. There were side by side images of both phones screens, so that might help finding it.

There were side by side images of both phones screens, so that might help finding it.
I don't think it's a widespread problem. If everyone who has this problem posted about it I would say it's affecting less than 5% of the posters.

Sup fellas, just want to add to the banter! I LOVE MY INCREDIBLE!!! It really has lived up to it's hype imo. It is sleek looking (been called pretty 3x already lol), fast, smooth, aerodynamic, 0-60 in 4.6 secs, and can fly around the world faster than Chuck Norris. I love this thing, lol.

For you guys who switched from the Eris, this uses the same battery, so I can use my seidio 1750 mah extended battery in my Inc!! That's just icing on the already iced cake.

FINALLEEE !! it has arrived. I Charged it up and took a ride to the local VZW store to get some goodies in the meantime. They had balloons; everyone was wearing t-shirts that said Incredible; they asked if they could help me and I said do you have any accessories for the INC; she said yes, "you have the phone already?" I said yea; got in the mail little while ago sucka. She was pissed; walked me over to the accessories and walked away. Anyways; I heard one rep say they just sold out of them; they had 67 phones. Sorry for my last VZW rep story for a long time. ENJOY!!!!

And another Android 2.1, 1GHZ, with QWERTY keyboard and 720p out coming swiftly to Verizon.

Say aloha to the LG Ally on Verizon this summer – Android and Me

Comparing Galore! I like options.

Got my phone from BB after work! It looks real nice. No problems at BB. They were able to add the Verizon TEC insurance; but they add to go directly to the Verizon site to do it.

Went cross the street to the Verizon Corp store and picked up the last Black and Red hard cover. The cover looks real good, it's darker than any of the pictures and I don't notice any added weight or bulk.

I asked if the phone + cover will fit into the dock thats coming and I was told yes!

I have not played with the phone except for the leap feature. I just LOVE that feature. The phone is charging now.

Where can I get cheap data cables for the Incredible?

Any help appreciated.
Try downloading Astro file manager, then look for the video then choose the default video player...let me know this should work. You may have to select and hold the file for the play options to appear i can't remember.

I'm having a lot of fun with the phone including using the speech to text for messages and surfing the web. Wish my case was here this thing is covered with fingerprints now.

I have yet to figure out why I can't get my google calendar to sync.

I ordered and since needed a supervisor approval they said they would place the order but it would be pending untill a supervisor reviewed it. I thought it would be stuck in que forever! I checked my order number on line all day and it didn't come up none the less I just received my confirmation e mail that its been shipped!! Wiiiiiiii!! Its been a long two weeks since I discovered this phone and now I have to wait two more days!! Darn!! Jk

Thank you for placing your order with Verizon Wireless. We wanted you to know that your Verizon Wireless order was shipped.

I got it to work, it wasn't that it was unable to find the videos, but it couldn't play them. It wasn't a problem with my player, but my encoder. I ended up using Realplayer SP to download and encode them as for iPod and works wonderful. Btw, I got a 16GB class 2 card (Sandisk) and the videos I have played on there have been fine, no lag and pixelation is almost nill. I'm assuming the issues with using class 2 is for HD video. But I plan on downloading Astro anyway, thanks
