Default Watch out for trash bins in London

London Recycling Bins Were Tracking Passers By | DSLReports, ISP Information

I saw this in a couple of posts from London papers. I'd need a hack to tell them to eff off.

If sellers want to market, they don't do it on my data or air time! They can pay for it since I'm not really interested.

Are they not filling them with the excessive fat/grease filling the sewers?

You'd think there would be bigger things to worry about over there. Such as preventing disasters like the Fatberg from happening again.

The trash bins are making sure you don't throw the suet in them.

That is no creepier that the billboards that know what radio station you are listening to.

High-tech billboards tune in to drivers' tastes / Roadside signs coming to Bay Area listen to car radios, then adjust pitch - SFGate

Now that is creepy. They must be picking up the radio's IF(Intermediate Frequency) that all radios leak to a certain extent, and does change depending on what radio station you're listening to.

There are also signs that change advertising to match whatever channel you have on the radio. I suppose they go by Genre or locality as you drive from one city to another.

I don't listen to the radio. I have a USB stick with songs I cut from CDs. The Player will put in the info about the track from an Iphone or Ipod, but not from a USB stick or a device like the Sandisk Sansa.

Let them figure that out.

I just assume everything from London has to do with Dr Who. It's the number one export.

I thought this was a new Grammar Nazi type thread and the OP was going to point out that we have rubbish bins not trash bins ..

Well I believe it samples and takes the most popular station being listened to at the time. As for length, I don't think it has to be for very long as I am sure they have several different ads ready to go. I still find it creepy.

To be honest - I don't look at billboards. I'm too busy watching out for road repair, closure, mowing ahead, you name it signs. Add to that potholes in the road and idiot drivers.

Would you have to have Wi-Fi on for this to work, or do I need to start turning mobile data off when I'm not using it now?
