Default Movies w/ the HDMI outuput

Has anyone tried to use the HDMI output w/ a movie stored on the phone. I have read that the Droid X will only allow you to watch movies on your flat screen that you actually record w/your phone. I haven't read anything about that w/ the EVO. Also, is the blockbuster app going to be strickly for Verizon or will it work on the EVO. Thanks

What kind of wiring do you have set up in your truck (i.e. advanced alarm)?? Is your bluetooth or wifi on while in your truck? does this happen on anybody else's phone in your truck? (could it be a cell scrambler??). What kind of settings do you have set up in your phone for roaming? Does this happen if using a headset?

Had to do a factory reset, now my phone works fine. After using Bump it would reboot as well as slow to a crawl and lag horribly. So much so it took me 15 minutes to get one call placed!

I don't recommend Bump to anybody!

That's weird cause me and my friend use bump with no problem. But last night I got Jorte this calendar and tonight was putting different widgets on my screen to see what each one was and the 1st two worked fine and the third one rebooted my phone. So I won't use that widget again but still am using the rest.

There's a satellite in my truck but before my Evo, I had the Samsung Moment and it work without any problems. It only reboots while on a call, other than that it doesn't seem to matter about Bluetooth, wifi, headset... you can be on the phone all day and as soon you make a call it might do it! It's not every call which its what makes it so aggravating

Well, I've never had any issues with my phone (thankfully) and I got it on launch day. There are a couple of phone settings you can play with to see if they are interfering. I don't know about them but TTY mode, DDTM mode, Voice Privacy, plus code dialing. Also, in network settings maybe Call Guard, Roaming, Enable always on. Just curious, do you have things set up for a hotspot??

weird. You seem to be on the right path though narrowing it down to your truck. Just for grins... did you reformat the sd card that came with??

hmmmmm.... maybe call your satellite company and run it by them?

The other day I called at least 20 Best Buy and Sprint stores. I went to the only store that had it in stock. They had only 2 Evo's and I got the second to last one.

I know not many still come into this topic, but I'll just leave this little announcement here:

STOP MAKING TOPICS IN THE EVO SECTION RELATED TO APPLICATIONS
I just moved 6 threads from the first two pages discussing App specific updates/problems/releases. There is an Android Applications section where these topics should be taking place! Thanks

Yeah my friend read on a Sprint FB page that it's going to start rolling out next week. I hope so! The engadget site list all the updates and doesn't mention bluetooth voice dialing. I hate not being able to push a button on my headset and say call so and so. And here is another article I think it's different from the other one. http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/29/evo-4gs-android-2-2-update-starts-trickling-out-tomorrow-loads/

It says Update: It's been made official! Notifications will go out starting August 3, but Sprint's doing something extremely cool by allowing eager users to opt-in early and grab the download at their choosing. Follow the break for the full press release. ( I wonder how we can opt-in early?) Also our phone will go back to like just gettign it new right we will lose everything? And once I sign back into google my contacts will come back and I just went to my app brain app and hit sync and it shows all my apps I have installed so am I good there too?

Do you find it makes any difference one way or the other for screen viewing, when outside in sunlight?

My phone tonight out of the blue while on a phone call my phone just rebooted for no reason. I know others have had it happen. And I had 45% battery left. It happened to me once before also. Weird!
I so can't wait for Froyo

Likely not - sounds like you've got a rogue app or system conflict (caused by maybe some not-great apps).

Suggest you try aLogcat, free from the Market and keep an eye on things.

You're looking for any error lines in red, ones that start with "E/" at the beginning of the line.

Scanning logs is daunting - so - Menu-> Pause and then Menu to share the log with yourself by email for quicker, easier scanning for that. Then clear the log to that point, and go back to what you were doing by getting out using the Home key.

Suggest you might want to try that BEFORE you get your Froyo update, so you have a stable phone to update in the first place.

REALLY STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT.

I'm not sure - but it may not span bootups - can't tell, I've been up too long, maybe....

Just so we're clear - this is a unix-based system so the logs are already there - this app just lets you get at them.

You can just check as you go along if you like - won't hurt anything.

I'm going to bet in advance that you might see all sorts of bad things happening long before it degrades to the point of a reboot.

AND - just so we're clear - you're NOT using any sort of task killer, right?

Correct, NO task killers are being used. I've been checking the log, I can't figure out what the problem is though.

Okay, right after reboot, it just showed this junk:

http://paste2.org/p/935412

And here's the full log:

Well, since we talked on this, somebuddy already the update has solved this exact same problem for them - so now I'm confused, too.

A few people have only been able to get the update to work by doing a factory reset.

I sure hate to give bad advice, but you might think about doing a full backup and then going for the update.

You need to be at 1.47 (About phone -> Software number) for the update to work right, according to those that had problems with the installation itself failing.

PS - Just saw your logs. OK, I'll go through those as soon as I can.

I know that in another thread some users were reporting that their phone would spontaneously reboot itself when they had always on data. Perhaps this thread will be of assistance?

Evo rebooting on its own

On a side-note, I know there are apps out there that can capture screenshots on rooted EVOs, but are there any for non-rooted EVOs? Or is there another way (minus thru SDK)?

Default HTC EVO 4G Lounge Thread

This may sound silly, but I got the idea on trips taken with family as a kid, spotting the Volkswagons, only we didn't punch we just went for colors. So since I was watching the new fall line up today I thought I spotted a few Android phones where as previous seasons I saw either blackberrys or Iphones.

I guess in other words see how many Android phones--no matter who the carrier is-- how many per show.

I spotted at least three on Chuck, two on Gossip Girl and one on Hawaii Five-O

Default HTC Evo 4G Lounge

Saw this in the Droid X and Samsung Fascinate parts, so I thought I might as well create one for us!

The purpose of this is to have some fun with other Evo-ers. So have fun!
