I made a post about that here, but doesn't seem like anyone cares. lol

See post here... This would be the easiest way without ADB to post a system pull.

will cwm be available for lg lucid 2

I can get you a system pull....

Would be easier to tell you this if you had PMs enabled but eh... lol

lol You keep telling me that... I don't need a system pull. I'm not working on this phone.

I'm only letting them know that they'll have to be proactive if they want a rom for a phone that is not getting any attention. Like posting a system pull and going around politely asking devs or chefs if they can make a rom for the device.

Just sayin

who will have to be proactive???

i really want a room on this phone lol almost no root apps work like screencast, sixaxis, or hotspot tethering

and I'm confused on that link. isn't that just for the recovery? those two roms are for the LG spirit.

edit.

oh ok where do I get those three files and how do I upload them when flashing one of those two roms?

do you need adb to do this?

am I supposed make a back up, take those files you stated out of the back up, flash the rom, then upload those files through my recovery?

if so will they already be zipped files?

Those roms you see are in my signature, they're not to install on this phone. Signatures are so you can show your likes, hobbies, projects, charity, or just about anything that interests you within site rules.

As I said before, you do not need ADB nor do you need to flash anything.

Simply go into recovery and make a backup. Once the backup is done, plug your phone to PC and copy the 3 files I mentioned. The one labeled system.ext4.tar will be pretty big in size. If your using a touch recovery then it will be labeled system.ext4.tar.a.

Now you can upload the files to google drive which is free and I find it's the most reliable. Once you post your links for download, make sure to check that they are working.

I was working on a simple rom to enable basic functions but with that recovery it checks for the model the rom is built for and its not this phone, anyway I keep getting error code 7 when flashing my rom, i tried to get a different recovery but there are no others... If someone would be willing to help I could probably get it finished.

The issue is not with the recovery. You have to edit the updater-script correctly. Until the script is properly written, no roms will flash.

Im pretty sure the script is correct because for the most part I used android kitchen to make the rom, then added a few things myself

Not trying to argue with you, but I've made scripts and roms a few times and I can tell you for sure that kitchen does not generate a fully working script. It still needs to be edited.

Im assuming that your talking about the line that specifies the phone the rom is for? I looked for that and couldnt find it. Also it would make it easier if it was in lines, its not. It's just one big paragraph if you will.

If you like, post your updater-script and I'll have a look.

If only i knew how to develop

Why doesn't the stock rooted rom have support for sixaxis, wifi tether, or screen cast??

And is there any chance you think mhl will work with this phone on a different rom.
Cus i saw dev>graphics>hdmi

@sammyz

Can you post that system pull you have?

The system pull a few posts up gives me a corrupt error when I extract it.

If I get the system pull I can write the edify script and add support for this device to kitchen so these guys can make their roms.

I need your aboot img

On linux, run these commands 1 by 1 in terminal with your phone plugged to your PC. Make sure to have USB debugging enabled on phone.

[HIGH]adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/aboot of=/sdcard/aboot-lucid.img[/HIGH]You'll get a small file named aboot-lucid.img in your internal sd. I'll need that file.

Sorry, I don't use windows so you're on your own with that.

but there is no file created on the internal storage...

That looks like it worked. Look around the internal sd if not check the external sd. The file is definitely on your phone somewhere cuz the picture shows the transfer worked.

I can't do any custom recoveries or kernels without that file.

And thank you for trying when noone else would.

Looks like it's time to give up on this phone. Unless someone can run those commands on linux. Maybe Sammyz has the aboot, but he hasn't been around in a few days.

I have a couple things to do tonight but I'll attempt to pull it in a few hrs. I'll pm you later

Edit: Does anyone think I can use a Ubuntu disc and boot it inside Windows (without actually fully installing it) to complete this task?

Ubuntu lets you run it from disk without installing. So that should do the trick. If you pull it off, post back here. I check these threads often.

Good Luck, I'll keep checking back.

Excellent, I am downloading it now. Does it matter what version? I went balls to the wall and downloaded 13.04, and I don't feel like digging out my burner and blank discs so do you think it will matter that I am mounting the Ubuntu .iso to do this? Starting to look like a LOT of emulation going on, I don't want to give you a messed up file and it end up bricking our phones, lol

Hmmm I'm not sure about all that. I use 12.04 as my daily system since it's completely stable and a long term release. Maybe the iso mount might work, but I can't say for sure.

Long story short, it wouldn't let me run Ubuntu inside Windows with the image mounted, but when I went to look for a blank DVD, I found an old 11.04 disc I made, so I'm going to just saying eff it and going to dual boot, lol. I like Ubuntu anyways, and it seems to play better with Android than Windows. Im also installing updates and stuff so the install might take a while. I'll post when I have obtain success

That sounds great. Everything is ready on my end, so as soon as I get that file I can compile the kernel.

This kernel will allow you to remove any app from the phone without bricking.

Once it's confirmed fully working then I'll build one with some other goodies like overclock, but one step at a time. lol

This is really pissing me off. When I use the disc and boot into Ubuntu, I tried to install next to Windows and when I click to start the install, it sits at the same screen for hours. When I "try" Ubuntu, I go into Terminal and after typing the first command it tells me there is no adb that I have to install it, but when I type the command to download it, it says it can't find it. On top of that, when I go into the developer options on my phone, the USB Debugging option is greyed out with the box already checked, but it doesn't tell me in the notification menu that its enabled. When I choose different charging options, the USB Debugging option un-greys for a split second and then goes back.

Short story long, I can't install Ubuntu and USB Debugging seems to not want to enable. Any ideas? On either front? O.o

Welp at least you tried. Lets just put all this aside for now and wait till Sammyz gets around and cross our fingers that he might have the aboot for this phone.

I already finished the kernel so I'll save it till that aboot becomes available. The only reason I need that file is so I can apply the loki patch. I'll drop by in the afternoon to see if anything has change on this end.

There's a file in there called 5-aboot.img so I'm 99.99% sure that is what we need.

You sir, are a life saver.

I'll be back a little later with a kernel for testing.

OK so now that I have what I need I would like whoever is gonna test to prepare....

1. Make sure to do a backup in recovery now
2. Make sure that you know how to get into recovery with the button combo
3. Make sure you're not squeamish lol

I've done this before and haven't bricked anyone, but I'd still rather play it safe.

Anyways, be back soon.

For testing Only!

Here it is... A Modded Unsecure Kernel.

---Just flash the zip in recovery
---Once the phone boots up come back and let me know
---Then I'll give you the next steps

Download

I have it downloaded but can't seem to get into recovery other than rebooting from the app. Whats the correct procedure?

I was about to give up since noone tested yet. Glad you responded.

You can get into recovery from the app and flash this if you like to do it that way.

For the button combo, just shut off the phone, then.....
---hold power and volume up
---as soon as logo appears, let go of power and toggle volume up and down continuously till you get into recovery, then flash zip.

Guys all you have to do is flash the zip in recovery. It's that simple. Just like any other zip you have flashed in the past in any recovery.

Zip flashed, awaiting further instructions. However, keep in mind that I'm at work and anything REQUIRING a PC will have to wait
