Blush cm11 lucid2 l1v vs870 wip port log/thread

No, this isnt a completed build.(nor even an alpha yet) But a thread dedicated to getting cm11 working. I have attached the device config cause i dont care to upload to github yet.
Here is the current build log: cm11 lucid2 l1v vs870 wip log - Pastebin.com
I need help solving these errors. ^ please link me anything you can to solve the errors in that pastebin.

Here is the device config. Modify it however and then link me to your modified one. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0J5C6YxKg67a3V1dWFVUWZTLTg/edit?usp=sharing

Here is the info i use to create everything: Cm11 device repo for spirit4g(our brother phone) https://github.com/playfulgod/android_device_lge_l1m
Partition/boot img info and tools: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0J5C6YxKg67SHpCM2VQSXBBeU0/edit?usp=sharing
Cm port guide: I just started yesterday, im following this guide How To Port CyanogenMod Android To Your Own Device - CyanogenMod

First im building cwm and im gonna loki it and get it working. then move to the kernel or cm11. whichever comes first. but we will have a good device tree at that point

Notes: ive never even built cwm before in my life. Even less on a non existent device tree.
I was originally compiling fully aosp jellybean to start with. but ive since given up on that. i think i had one build that even managed to show the bootscreen... and i got tired of restoring using our convoluted 2nd init cwm. so now im gonna get cwm working properly before any builds.
And for lols, here is the infamous bootlooping aosp build https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0J5C6YxKg67NXg3M1kzVUphajQ/edit?usp=sharing
Also note im fully open to any advice, questions, or requests for anything related to this device. or android in general.

Credits: playfulgod, Jesus, achilles, djrbliss, the whole cm team. etc.
And dont forget the lovely rbheromax!

First things first, have to solve the issue with the prebuilt kernel complaints.
How do i modify the makefiles to accept prebuilt kernel without complaining about a need for source? Ive done the mkvendor already as you can see in the info.zip/info/textfile
"make: *** No rule to make target `/home/jacob/Desktop/cyan/out/target/product/l1v/obj/KERNEL_OBJ/usr', needed by `/home/jacob/Desktop/cyan/out/target/product/l1v/obj/STATIC_LIBRARIES/libminui_intermediates/events.o'. Stop.
make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs...."

I think im going to specify "TARGET_KERNEL_SOURCE"
See: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Doc:_integrated_kernel_building#Step_1._Deploying_ the_kernel_source_at_the_proper_location

That is perfectly alright with me. As long as i have a crowd here i will continue to build. And once i make a device tree this device can have all kinds of roms.
Expect a test of cwm in the next couple days.

So i just got motherboard for my 8gb ram system back. And once i set that up tonight i will go at building again. Thanks for your patience. <3

Also, credits to @Gametheory for downloading lg's kernel source and making slight changes then reuploading it as his kernel.
i wouldnt even be able to build like i do if we didnt have him in our community.
Do you even sleep dude? Like honestly. Your always there helping us. Your pretty much the only good dev we have around here. The rest of us noobs and we _really_ rely on you. Do you have a paypal or something? i want to donate

I've never had or seen that error before. That guy must not have his build environment setup properly.

Anyways, my source is to build the kernel for JB not not KitKat(CM11) so you're gonna have to build a kernel from scratch unless you can use the KK kernel source from another similar device as a base.

I know the source is for jb. But the question is. Is the kernel source you used standard or have extreme modifications by lg.
Btw, the source itself compiles fine gives the binary (building with lg's instructions from the kernel source root itself). But when built with cyan's integrated system. It brings those errors and doesnt produce a zimage.
And i cant make the integrated system use the prebuilt without failing. Not sure why. but it even mentioned that using prebuilt kernel is deprecated and that it reverted my prebuilt declaration
I dont think playfulgod's l1m cm11 device tree actaully works yet. but i can try.

Its the compiler. To fix things like that error add "EXTRA_CFLAGS=-w" to whatever folder's Makefile or change compiler

So i can continue to use arm-eabi-4.7 with that flag?
What exactly does that flag do? Suppress warnings? Or disable checking?

Repo cant find google's 4.4.3 so i set cross compile to 4.6 and then i specified TARGET_EXTRA_CFLAGS += -w
EXTRA_CFLAGS += -w
in the Boardconfig.mk
Then i removed cifs, epm, and ext3 from the config for the kernel so i dont have to deal with it's build errors regardless.

This is becoming extremely ridiculous.
How do i specify to use the 4.4.3 toolchain properly?

You were right. I added it to the makefile in the offending directory. and no moar error.
Switching back to 4.7 cm toolchain.
Thanks again

Will update post soon. (and stop spamming with error replies :P)

Its something like the toolchain wants the code to be "optimized " but wasn't up to its standards, it complains, and exits with error. Adding that line skips checks and compiles. If you are getting those errors I think arch/arm/boot/compressed will fail too. If so I have something for that too.

Yes, you are right. if i get any error than it fails to produce the zimage.
Now ive used your suggestion but i still have this issue.
fs signed/unsigned error. - Pastebin.com
It seems that the fs code references bitops. and bitops is in a folder with no makefile in it.
Which is confusing.
So i added your like to the folder with the fs code in it but that doesnt solve the bitops issue.
Nor does adding your line the the kernel's croot makefile solve the problem.

im going to examine the bitops from the mainline kernel.

The include file is not errored. The "error" comes from fs/ add the line to the makefile (fs/Makefile) it should continue

welp, i added the no unsigned int check flag to fs/makefile and that error is gone now too.
but i still have a fs/writeback issue.

I'd recommend using an older compiler toolchain

I switched to Google's gcc 4.4.3.
The fail still occurred so i disabled kernel tracers.
Issue gone. but with it is a new set of fals.
need to keep adding your flag to each folder i guess.
Not sure why its being so damn picky this time but its annoying.
I will reply with progress later.

Im still adding it to each uninitialized warning's makefile.
is there a better way?
Could i recursively add your cflags to the beginning of every makefile in the kernel?

Well u can add each missing flag to the top level Makefile. (In the root Dir of source)
Like if it says -W-no-unintialized you would add -W-unintialized to KBUILD_CFLAGS

Thanks! I wasnt sure if kbuild flags worked with the cflags(im still a newbie dont hurt me pls)
Anyways, i fixed pretty much all of the uninitialized ones.
clock_8960.c Didnt like it if DEBUGFS config option was off. E.g. it declares some stuff with ifdef in one part, but another part that uses those vars doesnt have ifdef. So i have to add ifdef to the rest.

Try it without it. It may not be. I'll play around with the kernel to get it to compile with newer toolchains. Where is it

When you disable debugfs in the config.
You have to comment each line out that references a debugfs function.
Also. i initially disabled debugfs because some of the fs stuff wouldnt compile.
And i had found that as an answer from a dev on xda

UPDATE: A dev that i have on google hangouts told me debugfs is important for kmesg and logcat. So i used the meld tool to compare the original source tree with this one and uncommented all the debugfs lines.
Still working on the rest.

Also you didn't have SELinux enabled in config so thats probably why the original port bootlooped instead of hanging.

https://bitbucket.org/rbheromax/kernel-l1v (goes in kernel/lge/l1v, stripped out FreedomKernel stuff)
https://bitbucket.org/rbheromax/android-l1v (goes in device/lge/l1v, bring-up for cm11)

that should get you a buildable kernel, bootable recovery, and possibly even a built rom that u can start hammering bugs out of

Uhhhhh, i got that working yesterday.
Thanks for the initiative I will add your stuff to the build env and keep working
But we have bigger problems.
DD isnt actually writing to the reocvery partition.
Im gonna post an img tonight and let people try it(with instructions of course).
But md5sum shows that neither loki or dd is actually changing the contents of recovery -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p19

Here is the shell shell - Pastebin.com
As you can see, i zeroed out the recovery partition, imaged it. And it matched md5sums.
But when i write the img to the partition. The partition's md5sum doesnt match the recovery.img's md5sum.
Either the recovery.img is too big and isnt getting completely written or something else is happening because dd doesnt indicate that the img is reaching the end of the partition at all.

output of cat /proc/partitions :
" 179 19 12288 mmcblk0p19"

output of ls -al /storage/sdcard1/recovery.img :
"-rwxrwxr-x system sdcard_rw 9467904 2014-09-16 19:36 recovery.img"

dmesg indicated nothing useful and loki doesnt do anything useful either.
dmesg has been repeating
<6>[69864.242903] max17043 check temp = 27, PreviousRcomp =0x5F
<6>[69864.244978] [Battery] max17043_work : soc(100), volt(4302)

On another note, I looked at what you did with the config and and kernel. Thank you again, I was too lazy to pull the rest from the l1m tree

with recovery you;ll also want my fstab. its formatted differently to match newer cwm specs
it depends....your recovery is 9.2 mb
if your partition is only 8 mb then yea too big
but the writing that would only make recovery not bootable at, not boot the old version
i thnk your recovery partition should be ~16mb because thats what newer devices with bigger emmc's ship with. do you guys get fastboot when zero-ing out boot and recovery partitions? if so, thats where u can test boot the images and probably flash too. and from this state you'll still be able to get to download mode to restore a kdz from sammyz's method

Dude I feel bad I haven't been helping with the project much. Please tell me if you need anything.. Involve me more please

Actually i was _just_ thinking about that.
Cause I had wiped the boot partition of my optimus v a couple days ago and it gav me fastboot. xD
But anyways, I will try very soon and report back.
I do know that if you wipe the aboot, sammyz said that it mounts as a usb drive on your pc and gives you access to "modem" files and "adsp" files.

dont wipe aboot. it'll put ur phone in download mode
it'll show as: qhsusb_dload

from there you can directly write to and from the internal emmc while in linux because it mounts as a logical device

12582912 Bytes to Megabytes Conversion Calculator
I dded from dev/zero to the recovery partition and this is what I got ^
it says its 12 megabytes.
So I think I need to adjust my "BOARD_RECOVERYIMAGE_PARTITION_SIZE := 50331648"

Testing with:
BOARD_BOOTIMAGE_PARTITION_SIZE := 0x600000
# Maybe 0xBB8000 or 6291456 below, not sure. Still expirementing.
BOARD_RECOVERYIMAGE_PARTITION_SIZE := 0x600000
I _know_ the block size is 4096.
Some dude said to multiply by 512 bytes the output of cat /proc/partitions
And then sometimes its in hex.
dd gives us 12 mb in bytes. Soooo not sure.

Im so perplexed.
The guys over on the lg g2 have to do basically the same thing as us but it actually works for them.
[RECOVERY] CWM D802/F320(K/L/S)/ATT/VZW [v6.… | LG G2 | XDA Forums
So this weekend I will have unlimited free time to work on this project.
OTOH, I thought of something.

Maybe move this to an IRC channel so we can talk and pour in ideas to get this to work?
