I'm sorry, but in my opinion (and testing) The only CWM I got to work without it rebooting or freezing on the Boot Logo (Mine's is Pinkie Pie, not the Huawei Logo) I had to use the Huawei U8150 Ideos Recovery mode

So does the u8150 have the cm7 that works on hauwei m835 or is it the ascend cwm
I got it to work. What you have to do from CWM is flash the Huawei Ascend Recovery and install the CM7 from there. It works. But then it doesn't
As already said, Wifi doesn't work and the Market doesn't work. You get Random force closes and even when trying to text, you can't see what you are typing for some reason. not sure if you want to get into it at this point. But I am sure these will be fixed sooner or later.

Im gonna try to pick one up tomorrow. Is there a way to revert back to completely stock with fastboot if something gets really &!@#%@ up and it wont boot or go into recovery? I dont intend to use it as my regular phone but for 40 bucks used I cant pass up a new toy to play with and possibly break a few times in the process but a 40 dollar paperweight would make me sad also

Reason: Just tried the new gapps would not let me update it keeps giving me an error install aborted. So Im guessing maybe lol
all the apn does is the mms and maybe data stuff. If your phone isnt making calls, you really broked sumtin.
I flashed the wrong ROM. (Dronix) which works except the whole cellular thing LOL. Even if I flash another Rom the Dronix Load screen starts up instead of the Huawei Logo.

I can't seem to find any but the CM7 which didn't work as far as giving back cell service. I even tried a Ascend Rom which flashes to it but scaling is all wrong and even then, no cell service.

you may need to flash back to stock and reprogram by dialing *228 option 2 I believe.

when I dail *228, it says no mobile network available. At the lock screen it says No UIM. It thinks its a GSM ROM. When you look at the VPN settings it says Vodafone and all that. I know the VPN is just for Data and stuff but I deleted that xml and tried to replace it with Metro settings. That did nothing. Its looking pretty dim.
Anybody Got a Ascend for sale?

sound like you got a bad dl, re-dl and try again.
it installs all the way and i can reboot n stuff
, but when it's done installing the progress bar 's at like maybe 60-80% when CWM or even UJ say its done.
boots, but still stuck on those 3 funny lookin dudes n nothing-even after waiting like 30 min...
Well as things will have it, I purchased an Ascend today and just flashed to CM7. And I would still love to know how to recovery my m835... I guess i will use it as a Guinea Pig for now. Thanks for everyone!
I hated this phone before I installed this ROM. My phone is as fast as anyone could expect given the processor speed. Thanks to this ROM I am content with the M835 for the moment.
Like everyone else I am expecting an update with a WiFi fix.
