The Samsung lightray exterior features will be exactly like the Droid charge. 4.3 screen super AMOLED, 8MP camera with 1.3 front face. The droid charge for verizon came in with a 2.2 OS with a 1GHz processor with 2GB internal storage, and 512 MB of RAM and ROM. Now what I'm looking at is the "lightray" or as some called it "admire 4G" will come with 2.3 Gingerbread OS with a chance of OTA update and it will carry a 1GHz processor. If they managed to make this a dual-core, then it's definitely something to look forward in buying. But think of this, for the price of this phone and the longevity of the model, for now I'd rather wait for the S3 as it will have all the latest features including a 4.8" screen with ICS that we're all dying for plus the fact that the S3 is the first phone of the latest release that Metro is getting their hands right after the "bigger guys". I'm expecting the S3 to be at least $399 considering the Indulge was $399 (which was lame). Plus it's the Esteem's next REAL competition.

S3 will be worth the wait, unless those wouldn't want to spend a lot on their device. The lightray is up there in price too. But still will be a great phone. Great replacement for the Esteem imo.

Actually the S3 will be close to what he is guessing..

customers wanted the better phones, metro listened and is supplying.

dev's will probably get the s3 or lightray. and if none of the new phones, they'll stick with what they have now, which I doubt that.

just looked at the sprint website and the non contract Gs3 price tag is $599 for the 32gb version and $549 for the 16gb version. even lower than amazon.

so maybe we will see a sub $600 in tact gs3 for metro.

Hmm for $559 without ANY specs lowered is mighty interesting. This could be the first phone for Metro that's not watered down in any way if they remain the specs to be the same, which I would understand the pricing. Guess I gotta stay posted from my rep and see what happens.

Hotspot as of now will only be available on the 50/60 4Glte plans. Metro is going to make sure the hotspot feature isn't 'abused'.

If there is a heavy amount of users where using their device(s) for unlimited teethering, that would consume a mass amount of bandwith and in the end would have a bad experience for all by eatting up the bandwith and slowing down the 4G speeds.

Sad to hear but it does make a lot of sense.

Its abused regardless of plan even tethering on 3g is my specialty either way metro cannot stop it. all they can do is blacklist different user agent codes especially from mobile devices such as ipod, ipad and even android tablets.

I doubt that the S3 would be dumbed down. I think Samsung is really gunning for that Apple-like idea of a "premium" handset. Look how they got the larger carriers to release the same phone (aside from a few differences in the cellular radios). I think that when the S3 comes to Metro it will be the same S3 we've seen to this point. Anyway there are all the other phones in the lower range of Samsung's line up to cover the watering down.

This goes along with what Engadget reported, " MetroPCS says that we can expect to see either six or seven new LTE handsets by year's end, each which will be priced between $99 and $149." Good thing the Motion will cost $150 with qHD display, Snapdragon S4 processor, and 5MP camera (Aere can you confirm these specs?). $600 for Samsung Galaxy SIII is too much for a jobless 16 yr old.

Default Metro is no longer the company of the people

You all are being gouged for your money, the connect and esteem (maybe) are great phones that if ics was put into would be even better. If you truly want a high end phone sign a contract. I personally this year bought, indulge, admire (broke), admire 30 bucks, and finally connect. People complain about price of contracts, do you see they release phones constantly to just make money?? That admire is a piece of s*it, and they kno it, but where they used to replace for free, u gotta pay 30. They are preying on you for cash, demand more than expensive gadgets, demand better treatment. Just my two cents...but whatevs..

That admire is a piece of s*it, and they kno it, but where they used to replace for free, u gotta pay 30. They are preying on you for cash, demand more than expensive gadgets, demand better treatment. Just my two cents...but whatevs..
with the s3 coming i wont have to sign a contract. you gotta pay to play. you could put jellybean on the connect and the esteem and they still wouldnt be half as good as the s3. many wont get the s3 however because they wont have the cash. again, most people are on metro because they dont have a lot of money and cant afford the service of the big 4.

keep in mind that not even 3 years ago metro was a phone service that was not in the business of offering smartphones of any kind and didnt offer any kind of mobile data service yet alone 4g LTE. a samsung freeform was top of the line for metro back then. 3 years removed from being a service offering cheapo flip phones with no internet at all to where they're at now is pretty damn good and they continue to get better.

If there is a heavy amount of users where using their device(s) for unlimited teethering, that would consume a mass amount of bandwith and in the end would have a bad experience for all by eatting up the bandwith and slowing down the 4G speeds.

Sad to hear but it does make a lot of sense.

So what about people on the $70 plan???

Are they offering tethering to the $50 & $60 plan because their data is limited?

People on the $70 plan already have unlimited web at UNLIMITED 4G SPEED NOT DATA. All the plans are unlimited web. The 50 has 2.5 GB of 4G speeds and 60 has 5GB of 4G speeds. If people add the hotspot to the $70, it'd be fine because they can share freely from their speedy bandwith. As a dealer, I'm still getting informed on how that will transition on other plans..

The data was always unlimited it's the speed of the 4G on those plans. I stated it on the above thread. After the speed cap, the 4G speed reduces depending on your coverage.

I see.. Thanks for the info!
One question.. Will there be a standard color? Like will we have the option of different colors or just have one color?

I think she's green. There's also a red hulk too.

On topic: I hope they get colors. Preferably a white one. ^_^

As I stated, the Hotspot addon as of now will only be available for the $50 and $60 plans. Adding that feature to the $70 plan might change in the future.

It will not be available for the 70.

the galaxy s3 blue color
reminds me of that mystic color of the 96 Svt mustang cobra.
which was a limited edition.
