If they had released this phone last week, I would have been the first in line. As it is I done got tired from all the hype. I'ma keep my connect until it quits.

I talked to a sales rep today at my local MetroPCS store and while they didn't mention anything about price they said they could get it this Friday. Usually they get new phones every Friday so the rep said there was a good chance.
I'm due for an upgrade in November with Verizon, but I've had it with paying astronomical bills and losing unlimited data. Metro wasn't even going to be an option until the SIII came into play. It's now a must own for me.
this has nothing to do with the s3 but with the galaxy note II....i am just amazed how much the front facing camera can do....those Samsung people really good!
Metropcs keep playing games first the sweeptakes was suppose to end 10/2/12 at 11:59 p.m and now I found this in their website. WTH!!!
SWEEPSTAKES PERIOD: Sweepstakes begins October 3, 2012 at 12:00:00 a.m. Central Time (”CT”) and ends October 9, 2012 at 11:59:59 p.m. CT (the “Sweepstakes Period”). The Web Site server is the official clock for this Sweepstakes.

What if we registered before before this?

My guess is that metro didn't get enough to sign up. Once you start a start a contest, you can't change what's in the terms and conditions/agreement which in question is the end date. Soooooooo the only thing to do is to keep it going with another agreement to hopefully get more people to sign up. Thus it's been extended
If they wanted to do 20 phones they would have done it at once to cause less confusion, obviously, and to make it more enticing.
speculation. But I'm sure a call to metro could sort it out. Either way i really don't care, i just want it for sale and not in a give a way.

Right, but if they HAVE to honor the terms and conditions/agreement because they can't change it, don't they HAVE to honor the initial contest as well and give away the 10 phones. If they can't change the contest legally, how can they abandon it legally?

Sorry if this sounds rude, but who cares about the freakin' contest just release the phone or give a release date already...
The latest update about the device pertains to the contests that Metro is holding for it, which is why we ate discussing it. If there were some news about the actual release of the phone, I'm sure we would be discussing it...but there isn't. So relax because some of us just want a bit of clarity about the opportunity to have the device free of charge. Why just buy one, if there's a way that you can have 2 for the price of one? I fully intend on purchasing the phone no matter what, but I also want my fair shot at a free one. Abandoning the initial "sweepstakes period" doesn't sound all that fair to me.

That's where I am now. I was hyped up about the s3 but the more time I have to think it over the more I'm starting to think on whether I need it or not, or if I should just be happy with what I have for now.

Call metro if you wanna know so bad.
Calling Metro for anything other than service issues and billing questions is fruitless. We all know that, otherwise you release date junkies could just "Call Metro if you want to know so bad" and tell us all when it's coming out for sure.

I've been thinking and i might get out now, buy an s3 out right and go to straight talk.
I don't like what I'm reading about this merge. The comments at least from people that know a lot more than i do. It doesn't look good for metro users but also, thus could be a couple years from now and the s3 will be obsolete.

Its going to be a pretty good merge for both partnership
Just walked out of the corporate store in brandon,FL. This is how it went down:
Me: just one question...when is the s3 hitting the store.
Employee: yeah..not allowed to discuss it.
Me: oh rly? Its top secret like that?
Employee: we aren't allowed to discuss anything about the phone..at all.
Me: don't you guys work on commission? You can have my # and get an easy sale..just call me the moment you have them.
Employee: sir..we really can't do that here..and we don't discuss anything to do with the phone.
At that point I just left lol. So damn frustrating!!!

Until they give you 6 months to trade in your phone for one of theirs and force you into a contact. But this is also years away.
All they wanted was the spectrum and they got it. They can do whatever they want cause their customers well be thrilled so they ain't going anywhere. Do what if they lose half of metros 9 mill. Haha. That's a pale comparison to the 35+ million they already have that will be even more happy. Seriously doubt they will bend over for 9 million people to stay our go. But we've got plenty of time to make up our minds and prepare.by then the s6 will be out. Lol

Haha. Ah. Metro employees. Like they really care about whether they can talk about it or not. Pffff

I also read somewhere on here that the SIII was coming out on Oct 4. but its a funny coincidence that as of TODAY Oct 3, T Mobile and MetroPCS are exchanging/sharing freq.. thus expanding each other's spectrum... JUST IN TIME TO LAUNCH OUT THE SIII?????? so explains how the phone will work on Metro's Network. AHA!!!! no flashing needed playah!
Your are wrong. It does not have to accept a SIM card. It will work on the T-Mobile LTE network because it will have the same band spectrum as the MetroPCS LTE network. People stop worrying.... You are all confused by the wrong reasons.
