yea im game as well, if this phone comes out and hopfully its not watered down like all the other metro phones, then i wouldnt mind spending $400 bucks on it.
It's just hard trying to contain myself from leaving my $55.00 dollar a month phone bill to going to a major carrier just to have a nicer phone. and paying $100 plus a month for a phone bill...

If its at 400 bucs..then most likely a washed down version of the device...I really hope they don't touch a single thing..I had a chance to play with it...and its amazing..beautiful..fast...the camera is my favorite spec..I know metro is interested in bringing more 4g lte phones. but if it comes to their lineup at 400 bucs..seriously doubt it be galaxy s3 completeness.. wonder if anyone has had it flashed and how well it works on metro.
The Samsung Galaxy Lightray 4G is officially retailing at $459
2.3 Gingerbread OS
1GHz processor
16 GB memory card included
HDMI output
Sound alive audio
8 MP camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording
4GLTE Hotspot enabled
1.3 MP front face camera
Dyle mobile TV
There's no need for sources for have no fear a dealer is here lol
What do you guys think about the price? I'm ehh about it. Not surprised about OS :/ Considering the Esteem is still $379, this phone might be a slight upgrade. I'd still save for the S3!
So there you go everyone

if they hold out til this year a price drop isnt uncommon, but yea I tend to think they will dumb it down some how, less RAM, something.

Yea I still can't believe the LG esteem has the same price. lol.
the one thing that catches my attention on the Lightray is the camera..but Gingerbread with a 1gz processor at $459.00? pfff. cmon now. lol...make it 1.2 ghz. dual core with ICS..and now were talking. .

Yes, the gingerbread and processor was a turnoff lol It does have an 8MP camera with a 16GB memory card but you're still better off with the Esteem
But I'm sure the S3 for metro will have what we're all dying for. Just gotta hang in there a little more!

same here...this fall should be interesting for metro with supposedly 6 to 8 android devices with their new LTE data plans...will def be keeping a close eye on this.
I did remove prices since prices are known and can change.
Samsung Galaxy S Lightray 4G
o Expected to launch on 8/6
o Mobile Hotspot will be available on the device
Coolpad Quattro 4G
o Launch targeted for 8/22
LG Motion 4G
o Launch targeted for 8/29
o Excited about Ice Cream Sandwich Android
ZTE Anthem 4G
o Launch targeted for 8/29
Huawei Pinnacle 2
o Launch targeted for early-Sept
Samsung Contour 2
o Launch targeted for mid-Sept
Huawei Verge
Samsung Galaxy S 3
§ Will be available after September and before December
If this Metro comes out with all of these new phones and starts subsidizing them get ready for another change in the plans and some sort of price increase. I am assuming they will subsidize the S3 because dropping $600 on a phone is a bitter pill to swallow. There are some very nice laptops in the market for that same price....

The SG3 on U.S. Cellular is $350 with a $100 MIR. ($250 + Tax). They have a smaller customer base than MetroPCS, at this time. So if it's released for that price on MertroPCS without the MIR it would be on par with the price of the phones they have out now. Let's see how much MORE they try to $queeze out of us.

althought those prices are being directed towards sprint theres a chance that we might get that deal as well .

Looks like the list of U.S. operators selling the Samsung Galaxy S III has grown once again. Ting, a Sprint MVNO, has reached out to tell us that it's now accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy S III, which it'll offer in Marble White and Pebble Blue in both 16GB and 32GB sizes. The devices are expected to ship in three to six weeks. As for pricing, the 16GB models cost $529, while the more capacious 32GB versions are $579. If you need more incentive to pre-order, Ting says that it's going to select two GSIII pre-orders of the first two hundred and refund the price to those two buyers.

Dont even worry about that we got devs that tell us its 100% upgradable even if it dosnt come with ics which it will but they told me that once gs3 is in their posession cm10 will be ready for porting aka modded jellybean 4.1 wooot

I really doubt metroPCS will water the SIII down. Samsung is trying to change their image and having a dumbed down SIII will only hurt it. It's their flagship phone. I doubt they will allow any company to water it down.

I was going to upgrade my phone this month to a 4g phone on metro. Now I am thinking I should just wait another month and see what comes out between now and then.

Really want an s3 but I'm still in hs and my income is limited. Plus I'm trying to buy a gtx660-ti and that's going to be around $300. Plus the nexus 7 is going to cost me a bit of cash. So until I get those two I'll keep my esteem as long as possible.
