I just took a gander at the contest rules. A close one.
They do say the drawing will happen on or about tomorrow. Contest ends at midnight tonight.
If you wanted a list of the winners you had to have a written request in BY today. That tells me they won't likely dally about or why wouldn't they give you more time to ask for the winners. That tells me they want it done and over with.
Phones will be sent to winners within 30 days. I suspect they will send the winners a questionnaire of some sort to be sure they are eligible to win.
If they do the drawing tomorrow maybe the winners will know Friday.

you meant to say November 9th...
WINNERS LIST: For the names of the winners send a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Samsung Galaxy S III Sweepstakes Winners List, P.O. Box 1095, Elmhurst, IL 60126. Requests must be received by November 9, 2012.
Ain't this funny?
The release date for the GS3 has, once again, been DELAYED.
Not for a "simple" software update, or anything like that, mind you... Apparently, some of the goons in charge thought it best if it were to be released with JB instead of ICS, and even after putting it to a vote, they've decided to put off getting the device out until probably NEXT friday (october 19th)
This is getting really annoying now...

ehh, to the people who frequent these forums and hf as much as some of us do, the wait for update thing sucks. For the people who would not root/rom their phone (majority of owners) they will like this better.

If this supposedly happened 2 weeks ago, I could see it.
There's Now a fly in this ointment though. There's ALREADY Metro S3s out. Aren't we somewhat sure someone has seen one in a store already? Someone said the stores had their training w/the phone already.
What about the ICS in THOSE phones? They'd have to do a OTA for those S3s anyway to fix them so why not go ahead release the phone with the ICS the store phones already have and push out the JB with the usual soon after release OTA to fix the niggling issues that crop up?
What the heck other than that is there to vote on?
Bruce in Ocala, FL-just trying to pay attention in class here

Good thinking.. sounds like you would do a better job running this company than the people running it now bwahahahah
lol i think they just enjoy reading about what we have to say lol ....but i would say give us the ics with the phone and we update it later if we want to
I think they're trying to sell as much as the phones they recently released as they possibly can before the big phone. I was looking at the picture that shows the line up of upcoming phones, and I noticed there is another Samsung phone before the S3.

Me personally dont think that metro would release the s3 with JB, come on if the 4 major carriers hasn't received the update yet, you really think we would have it first. Nottttttttt

Samsung Galaxy S3: How To Update To Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean
Thanks to an incredibly strong community of developers, Samsung Galaxy S3 users no longer need to wait for an over-the-air update. Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean has been made available for the phone through several different custom ROMs. The ROMs that have been created are entirely based around Android 4.1.1 and are often updated more frequently than the carrier version of the operating system.

Which goes back to my post yesterday about them already having to do an OTA for the phones the stores have to upgrade to JB. ICS phones are already out there. They can give the new phones ICS at the same time as the phones the stores already have. Later.
