so...what are you gonna do?
this is not another thread discussing the merger. its a thread discussing what us metroPCS customers are gonna do due to the merger.
as i've said, im sticking around and waiting for this thing to happen and if they dont take my rate plan away from me i'll reap the benefits of better coverage, faster speeds, and better phone selection through metro hooking up with tmobile.
what say you...

Well i was gonna get an unlocked nexus on tmobile for 30 bucks a month.
But i just got a sweeter deal,:what:
My gf is getting me the gnex on sprint while shes getting the s2 and shes paying the bill lol.
So ill just save my money than sell the motion , esteem, gnex whenever something waaaaaay better comes out and get that.
Most likely next years nexus.
I just got my LG Motion 4g with the 55 deal (only 50 since I'm on a family plan). I guess I will just wait to see what happens. If they take my deal away then might change carries depending on cost.

Still gathering info. Being that I've got a whole month I've already paid for I'm in no hurry to switch. If in fact the metro s3 can be unlocked, I'll stay. But that's the only way. I want the option to be able to take my metro s3 and jump ship once it starts sinking and take it else where and throw a Sim in it and keep on moving.

i had tmobile s3 on 30 dollar 5gb plan but i am a heavy internet user like 10gb in a month.now i sold the s3 and was waiting for metro s3.i am confused what to do.buy s3 on metro or go back to tmobile prepaid plan.i will just wait and see if the metro s3 comes with gsm/cdma option so i can sell it later.

The one good thing about metros high ass phone prices is they retain their value very well. As long as the sell price stays high from metro, you can sell high. Depending on what happens when the merge fully completes, you might have a cdma s3 that can't be unlocked and could only be flashed to another network. If people know this then getting any return on your phone might prove difficult.
Once again it depends on what happens when the smoke clears. Yes, no one uses the same phone for 2 years but I'm sure most, like myself, sell their metro phone and can still get a good return on it because the buyer can take it and sign up to metro with it. A cdma phone with no cdma obviously can't be signed on to metro.
Now, t mobile could offer a buy back program when that time comes and offer you a set amount towards a t mobile phone. This is possible.
Once again, we won't know those details until it's all complete. My information was gathered from talking with t mobile and metro pcs employees yesterday. All of them, let me repeat, ALL of them said the best decision would be to wait to purchase the metro s3 to make sure you won't have a cdma device that won't work.
Who knows. This sprint thing just throws another wrench into the mix.
Shmansies pansies!
I'm getting my S3 and I'm sinking down with this ship, argh!
It makes sense to me for now, and i heard it might be that ALL US S3s are interchangeable on all the networks, with a service provider ota, and that Qualcomm says they all have the exact same radio combinations.. Yeah.... even I think that sounds fishy... However, i love metroPCS too much to jump ship right now (even if Roger Lindquist seems to have fallen out of love with us)

I do agree. I've been with metro forever and they have never done me wrong. Unlike straight talk and simple who hide the details from you until you f up and they cancel your ish.
Metro is by far the best pre paid no contact carrier.

So Mr fuzz did you make up your mind on what you are gonna do?
I actually see no problem whatsoever to get the metro gs3. heck, the phone could use the later T-Mobile lte network kinda like a cross-hybrid carrier phone lol.

Sent from my typewriter.
Bought the Gnex straight from Google. Will run on T mobiles BYOD $60 unlimited talk text w/ 2Gb of data. 4G coverage is great in my area.
Honestly, I've always wanted the Gnex but I havent checked the price in a long time. After seeing the price I didn't hesitate. I cant fathom paying $200 more for the S3 when the Gnex is still a developers dream.

Too many "pros" for me NOT to switch.
Gnex $200 cheaper than the S3
Basically the same plan but faster 4G and WAY more coverage.
I weighed the pros and cons all day and it was just very very clear the option. I thought the Gnex was still in the $400 range so I just never even gave it an option but I just so happen to check GPlay and that got the ball rolling. Made calls to Tmobile and got my info, checked the coverage map and made up my mind.

The Galaxy Nexus is a good phone, but it's $200 less then the GS3 for a reason. GS3 is pretty much top of the line Android while the Galaxy Nexus is considered old tech.

That's the plan i was on until i switched back to metro just because i can't deal with having 2gb per month and i use alot of data. And i don't have wifi.
I would personally wait for T -Mobile to roll out LTE which should be sometime in 2013 and wait for them to start selling LTE compatible devices before even considering switching to them. Or I would just wait for MetroPCS to start selling GSM/HSPA+/LTE compatible devices like I've said before.

Faster than what I've got now in my area by 3-4 times PLUS after seeing the comparisons of battery life of lte vs gsm, GSM battery life FAR exceeds lte. So once again, win win for me. Keep in mind, this is in MY area.
Plus I've been picking PG's brain all day because he too lives around me and has the Gnex.

how do you manage? I bet you have wifi at least.
I dont stream videos or music. At all. So just surfing the web, email, facebook, etc.... 2GB is plenty for me. I do have wifi at my house but usually then im on my PC.

The gnex and the gs3 aint that different so idk how its considered old tech. Only .15 inches bigger and 1 more gig of ram which the gs3 still lags and feezes, my sister-in-law has it and she hates that. Gnex has more support from google which is a plus, oh and dont forget the better battery life and consistent good speeds on hspa+ throughout the nation, not like metro.
HSPA+ 21 radio, older 5-megapixel camera, and slightly slower dual-core processor compared to a HTC One X or GS3 which makes the hardware slightly dated.

Ahh i see. You can manage just fine lol.
As for me i can't at the moment. As of right now i stream music and watch, Netflix but not too often. And i watch streams from twitch tv.
T mobile is, nice but i can't go back to having to worry about my data usage again .

If that's worth the extra $200 then good for you.
For me? Not in this lifetime. The nexus's HUGE development makes up for anything and everything you can come up with to say it's "old tech".

Yeah and lte.
Camera? No normal person can even tell the difference between the two, ive seen the pictures the s3 takes and they look the same as my esteem and the gnex haha.
Well they had to go with the omap to make it cheaper, you wont even notice the difference with jellybean+.

Yeah basically. And honestly I hardly talk on my phone, mainly text. I hate talking on the phone actually. Just sitting there hearing the other person breathe. lol I've never been big into the whole movie thing or streaming music. US? You mean worldwide? Note 2? Negative. Making it the "best" would also include sales. You wont see 20 million plus sales on the Note 2. Now The GS4 will likely become the "next best" device tech wise and sales wise.
