I think most people in that age group text a lot more than actually talk on the phone. I'm in my late 20's and the only people I actually talk to on the phone is well basically my mom everyone else is texting.

Also there's ways to keep from using minutes and instead use voip. Like with groove ip you can txt and call with a Google voice number.

I was able to stay under the 100 minute limit but I was always watching it. To me it made more since to spend an extra $10, hop on Straight Talk and not worry about anything. So I did.

But that 100 minute plan is butter if you can make it work.

Cool, but that was the Easy part.

Now comes the fun.

With the Metro stock holders.

Does anyone know if you can get the stockholders meeting streamed?

[EDIT] I asked on Faceplant about the merger streaming.

I also told them they need a chimney at Corporate. White smoke for YES on the merger, Black smoke for NO.

@Gman9831 Do you have any idea of when we would be able to exchange our Metro phones for GSM phones? T-mobile's HSPA+ is much faster here than Sprint 3g, and I've been looking at the Optimus L9.

Metropcs phones are CDMA so no it won't. Better sell it while you can and get back as much money as possible. Metro is going GSM starting in about six months I think...

Seriously? How long has their future roadpath been out and people still throw out complete nonsense?

Nothing is going to change immediately. It takes lots and lots of time to merge two cell carriers especially ones that operate on different technologies and frequencies.

I believe if I remember the roadmap correctly the new T-Mobile may in the last 6 months or so of 2014 offer to let you trade in your CDMA phones for GSM phones because they will be refarming the CDMA network in 2015.

But honestly this is going to be a slow integration so don't worry your CDMA phone is still good for another 2 years at least. And might still be good afterwards if they go VoLTE and you have a VoLTE capable phone.

And ALL OF THAT depends on the merger vote passing which is far from any certainty.

But that $30 plan is great and is very popular. i don't see them getting rid of it. I see them bringing in more like it. maybe. Who knows.

Well before we were talking about the 5GB $30 plan then they announced the new plans so we assumed it was going away but yesterday they showed the new prepaid plans that said the $30 would be available but not promoted, but it's not the $30 5GB 100min unlimited txt that we liked, it's the $30 30mb 1500min & txt instead that they'll be keeping.

Long story short in the pic they're getting rid of the top plan & keeping the bottom one but not promoting it, you'll have to ask for it.

It's always been 4G speeds. When I was on it back in Nov/Dec, I was getting the same Data speeds as ST. That's how I made my comparison of ST was by using that plan. ST was an average of 16Mbps. But even on T mob, if it was 3G speeds, it doesn't matter what it's called. It matters what the speed is. So 16Mbps at 3G is no different than 16mbps at 4G speeds. It's still 16mbps. Damn it's tool early, I just woke up. lol

I think it's going to be the March 26th date which is the same day they have the BB10 release announcement. Don't think your article mentions it but I think they have started sending the brochure to the retailers. The photo shown is from the original leak I believe.

Ok, so reading those brochures correctly, basically you can get 2 phones, unlimited talk, text, and web, for $120!??!?!

$50 first line, $30 additional line, and then $20 each line for unlimited data?!?

As a GS3 metropcs owner my question or concerns I guess would be the reliability of the gs3 before and after 2015.. After reading this thread and the other.. Plus the official site.. I have concluded that even after the merger... And beyond 2015 the Gs3 will still work on LTE or VoLTE... However I haven't seen much mention of why doesn't metropcs take the gs3 and apply some upgrade and switching it to gsm/hspa+ since as far as I can tell spec wise the gs3 should be achievable...?

Metro PCS rolls out updates over a year behind. Worse than Verizon. You think they would roll out a hardware upgrade if they didn't have to? Especially after a phone will be 3 years old at that point?

People worrying about the GS3 in 2015 would have already sold it well before then and got a new phone. Just sayin.

Next I think is Dallas, NYC, Baltimore, Minneapolis, Denver, New Orleans.

Edit: Didnt see you put Baltimore, I just didnt think they would have that one ready so soon. Knew about all of these before hand .
Edit2: Forgot about Denver and New Orleans

Look how close T-Mobile and Metro's numbers are compared to everyone else. Other than # of subscribers. ARPU= Average Revenue Per User, Churn= % of subscribers to a service that cancel it that quarter.

T-Mobile {Net Adds __ 0.061M}{Churn__ 3.7%}{ARPU__ $41.31}
Metro {Net Adds __ -0.093M}{Churn__ 3.58%}{ARPU__ $40.86}

I just have a question about tmobile and metropcs. I went to tmobiles website and saw the price of the plans and also the phone prices. What i like about tmobile now is how they are ditching contracts, but still giving people a way to pay for their phones.. They are letting you pay for your phone either up front or in payments.. I like the paymemt option since paying for a high end phone is a lot. They are keeping both payments separated so you are pretty much in a contract to pay for your phone, but not for your service. Now i want to know if metro pcs is going to do the samething or if i could get a phone from tmobile and pay it in payments, but not have service with them, but with metropcs?
