Start from the beginning of the stickied thread and try reading as much as you can. Not trying to be mean but if you read thoroughly, you should end up with a lot less questions. I can't link you to the thread as I am on my phone right now. It's a good read and its always beneficial to have all the knowledge possible

Oh ok gotcha. I think that's to ensure we have the right rom for our phone. I wouldn't know what I'm looking at with all the numbers. I just look for d2mtr in the name.

-65DB you are standing within a hundred feet of the tower cuz damn your signal is great
-100DB you will suffer battery drain due to poor signal

on cm/aokp/bb the db is converted into how many bars you should have. touchwiz they like to spread a bit of a white lie and say youve got much better signal than you really do, partitally so your phone doesnt search for better signal and cause big battery drainage. if you wish to confirm this read what your 3G db is and how many bars you have, then go back to stock and see what your db is (should be around the same since you arent moving the tower ) and look at how many bars you have
OK, I did some testing this morn & just now. With cm10 & BB I have a -98 to 102 dBm. On the stock ROM I have a -92 to 95 dBm. So there's not too much difference. But I am sitting in the same spot in front of my pc. On the JB roms my signal drops out & goes to roaming. On ICS it's at 3 bars with 3g showing. Don't know what's going on. Maybe my phone doesn't like JB.

how do you all have such horrible signal? How To Measure Cell Signal Strength on Android Phones - Tested i sit around -75dBm on 3g (on sprint) and have no issues. -100 is going to be battery draining. your device is going to keep searching for much better signal and drain your battery

OK in my mobile network settings under system select "Automatic" is checked. Just checked Metro only & the signal jumped down to -88 to 90. I'm at a loss as to why the signal is so horrible. Maybe Metro is adjusting their towers again.

Remember that problem I was having? It's back and I'm on the stable CM10 ROM.

When I hit power button the display is dim and kind of flickers. If I unlock it the screen goes black. You have to keep hitting the power button to turn on and off the phone until it comes on at regular brightness then you can use the phone. It only happens when you hit the power button to use it.

Any suggestions? Could root cause this? or you think its the ROM?

I am on the 11/30/12 cm10 nightly. Has anyone notice the phone becoming a little warm? Especially towards the home button?

I think it has to do with JB because I just tried the BlackBean ROM and it's doing it also, but worst. I'm thinking of going back to stock just to see if it is JB or not.

Just yank the battery or turn off the phone by long pressing the power button. It's fine. It won't break it. You can disregard that message.
That is, as long as you are not trying to actually flash with Odin and the phone is connected to a computer.
If it is, something went wrong, so just turn it off, and try again.

In other words, just turn it off. Scream SHUT UP, and turn it back on while wagging your finger at it. It'll be fine.

Yeah I finally figured out what it was. I had pin lockscreen setup and it blocked it. Kinda weak. On blackbean i'm able to have both.

The most notable features from 4.2 is the photopshere n keyboard. The multiuser is useless on a phone. The notifications is nice but the aosp toggles aren't toggles but shortcuts.

With cm10 there is no option to put the clock in the middle you will find it with aokp or bb roms

Well CM10 was fun while it lasted. I have nowhere else to turn to for answers seems nobody can fix this issue with the dim lock screen. I might try unrooting and totally back to stock and start over.

I did notice something today though when this does happen. Seems to happen more when It's not charging, but when I hit the power button to turn on the screen it doesn't flicker it more likes pulsates and it's dim, BUT I did notice its brighter at the top than at the bottom. Hitting the power button a couple of times and the screen comes on normal and I can use the phone.

I guess I'll go back to stock and see what happens.

I've tried both ROMS. I'm going to start breaking it down and see if I can figure it out. Right now it's not doing it. I'm going to keep trying. I removed the weather widget to see if that's it, I'll just keep picking it apart.

I know this might be considered thread hijacking, but the people with the knowledge are probably subscribed to this thread. Please contact me or something, and we'll make a new thread.

Using the MetroPCS or US Cellular version, I can easily make small edits to get CM10 working with the Cricket GS3 (minus MMS and camera). 4G works as well. Those are the two things I haven't figured out yet. I'm not a dev, and this is the first time I've spent a minute changing stuff in a ROM around.

Thanks in advance.

Hell yeah. Hook them up.

Wait. I just noticed the sprint section got renamed sprint/cricket. Wouldn't their cm work then?

For some reason I got the e-mail notification before I could even refresh and see Shabby's response here. I wound up sending him a PM, but I'll include some of the info here.

Thank you Shabby and the rest for support.

"All I did was:

- remove the device from the updater-script
- add the LTE apns to the apns-conf.xml
- sometimes changed all the build.prop or at least the ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=310090
ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha=Cricket"

did you flash the 4.2 gapps instead of 4.1.2? that could be why your camera is not working.
carrier changes shouldn't get in the way of that...

pull the camera app and libs from the cm10 build and use root explorer and put them in the right directory and reboot or vice versa.

No. Twrp works. Just boot into recovery and install manually.

Default CM10 downloads

You know i went to download the CM10 for my Metro PCS GS3 but there's about eight different Rom downloads> [ROM][OFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 10 Nightly Builds for d2mtr. And I need to know which one I need? Or dose it even matter?

Nightlies are generally put out daily and may include minor bug fixes or very minor updates, etc... Obviously you would want to download the latest one unless you just have mind set on downloading one from 12-2-12 for whatever reason. Generally it's best to stick with the official when it's available but just go with the latest nightly.

Asking this in the thread dedicated for CM10 will prolly yield better answers.

Just look at the name of the build. It has the date in it.
